One thing almost everyone overlooks in the STI is the amazing handling. I got a new 23 wrx and spent $5k on coilovers, bushings, sway bars, 200tw tires, but at the track it still handled worse than my husband's 2005 STI. We talked to our personal friend a engineer at Subaru and he told us the new WRX is based off the SUV global platform using just electronic vectoring with open front and open rear diffs, which is fine for SUV and fun in WRX but not track oriented like the STI that has front LSD, center DCCD diff, and rear LSD, he said combined that handling magic with brembo brakes and other STi suspension components and that's why they're very track capable.

My favourite STI model.

I love my 2020 WRX STI but I never had complaints in the looks of the new VB. I think it looks good. I just rather have an actual STI. I believe in the EJ.

I still like the last generation STi. I feel like they’re too many on the road though. In a few years after attrition, it’ll be a nice collector’s item.

Im so glad a lot of people hate on the VB. It allowed me to purchase my 23 VB for 4k under MSRP. In todays market it's so hard to purchase a car for MSRP. So happy with the tech, the all wheel drive, the handling, and the overall driving experience. This car is also easy to work on and I was looking for a fun daily driver. If I was looking for a track car, the STI would have been the right car purchase. But the VB checked all the boxes and I couldnt be more happy with my purchase. I wish they still would have made the STI, but I will have to settle on a used one in 4 years.

Could change the wing mirrors to help flow with shape.

I can always wish for more power but have no desire or need for modifications .....but I will say my new 2023 WRX 6speed in better than the last VB 2.0T WRX. Th factory tuning is better, flatter and more responsive. The smoothness of the 2.4 and it's torque flatness is quite different than the 2.0T boxer, more than expected. The chassis is tighter and more tossable thanks to the global platform it is built on and the interior is slightly better as is the clutch take up. It's a shame there is NO STI coming or in the works beyond a new STE which of course means the movement to a automatic transmission electric sports sedan. God help us all. :)

I dont get whats the point that people try to make by saying the STi is better and how the VB is shit that it looks awful Ect. If u havent gotten in a VB drive one trust me u spend about 3-4k if even maybe less to make a hell of alot more power than the STi can. Not to mention that the FA24 still a very good engine alot better than what the STi has. All I can give truth is that the STi has a better manual trans but thats about it not hating on the looks of the old ones not my cup of tea tbh but just saying the VB is a pretty decent upgrade from the older gen VA/STi performance standpoint. The clading is there but a little bit of color matching goes a long way or dont paint it add a lip an STi wing some Skirts and a rear defuser and the car looks sick I own an Ignition Red VB myself and love it just want to at least defend the car I dont get what the hate is against the VB.

Even with paint matched, the cladding still looks terrible. I've seen all of AeroFlow Dynamics videos of their VB kits and they still look bad. The VB just stinks by comparison. It's an SUV in car form, gross. No one was asking for that.

I'll never buy a used STI. I don't trust previous owners.

My only complaint with this car is the sound system. It is the worst I ever experienced. My cars from the 90s came with better sound.
