WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use KZreads lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and KZread deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

I'm glad they exist, and someone buys them. The sort of watch I imagine Willy Wonka would wear. But I just need to see the time immediately, maybe time speeds, and flit across the channel. This watch would be sat in a drawer all it's life.

Those are such cool complications. Once I realized the minutes are displayed on an 120 degree arc, the movement of the three discs started making sense. If I got one, I’d wear it out resetting the time to watch how the discs move.

I love the colour, and is certainly has a real funky jazzy look to it, but i cant see myself wearing one. I admire the courage of the company to take a flyer on something different, and i hope it does well for them.

Well at under $400 this really is a good deal for a wandering hour watch. I really like that it's not large. 39mm is impressive. As you mention watches with non traditional complications or forms of time telling are usually quite oversized, so that is a really big bonus. The overall design is quite nice. I really hope they could improve on that lume though. Maybe not necessary for this type of unique watch but it would make it so much better. The case might be a little nicer also if it wasn't completely polished but I'm sure that would add cost. Maybe better lume and a bit more finishing and they could sell a premium version.

As a complication this seems to be gaining popularity, but for me it seems to mainly hold novelty value. This doesn't excite me much, but considering the fundamental simplicity, I can see potential for more appealing designs. Here I'm missing refinement in both dial and case, although especially the case shape is not bad all considered. I'm just not sure if it would convince as easily as e.g. jumping hours might.

It's actually pretty cool! They've actually put some effort into the watch making it actually wearable. The weak lume is no biggie, I wouldn't even mind if the watch had no lume at all. Even the price seems reasonable.

Nice review 👍 . I'm pretty sure the case for this watch is the same one used for a Lobinni Patek Calatrava homage. I quite like this watch, but it just isn't possible to tell the time accurately, so not for me.

  • @iTzGODZiLLA

Isnt possible to tell the time? Did you skip the section he went over it, or are you really just that much of a simpleton? Now if you try and twist it and say its not second accurate I'd argue that its (-8spd) and that essentially no one needs to know the time down to the exact second otherwise youd be using a 1/20th split chrono or atomic synced clock

I don't know....That "Light play" looks more like "Major annoyance" to me. And although I really like the Miyota 9015/9039 movements, I wonder what the diving force to using a 28800 bpm movement is when there is no second hand?! Seems like a good candidate for a cheaper NH35 family movment, where losing 10 or 12 seconds a day won't even be noticeable. 😄.

Great looking watch Gary, Love the idea, the colour and the look. But, why put a display case back if you are putting a plain rotor on the movement, it makes it look bland, cheap and detracts from the eye candy of the dial. A lost opportunity, even if they offer a custom rotor at a little bit more cost to the buyer (as recently done on a Kickstarter watch launch) it would elevate the watch, I am sure the custom rotor would cost just as much as a solid case back with a design on it. I also agree that a colour matching strap would just take this watch to the next level, the concept of the watch is to enjoy and draw attention, so do that. Lastly the lume, Oh boy that is a disaster, worse than if they had not bothered, they have to do something with that as it just shouts cutting corners, I would rather pay a bit more and have great lume I can enjoy when I can actually read the time. I am interested in the watch due to the comparative price, but then have to consider the modding costs for a rotor and strap to bring it up to what it should look like, just my humble opinion of course. Keep up the great work mate :)

G thank you v interesting to see. Liked the dimensions, the case and crystal and the green version but … strap, too much text on the dial, plain rotor and lume all drag it back for me. To be honest any watch with less than 100m of water resistance has to be top notch or a bargain (e.g. Bambino) for me as it is likely only an occasional wear. Interested to see you selling your stunning Marlin - I was v nearly tempted but have a somewhat poorer one that gets v little wear. V best G

A great-looking watch IMO, but no mention of servicing on Olto's website, so I think we should consider this essentially as a disposable watch a la Swatch, since no watch repairer will touch them and it's unlikely that parts are available. So $400 gets you something that might last 6 weeks, or 6 years, and if you want to send it back to Hong Hong, may the gods be with you. It does seem to be a gamble. I do wish channels such as yours mention these consumer-type details. I know you have businesses to run but seriously?
