I like the idea of taping over ports on the back side. My question is, how do I get my new replacement yellow bee guards in the hole? Should be easy, right? I NEED THE SECRET!!!!!!

Hummingbirds use the back side because they feel safer from predators, though. Let them use whichever side makes them feel safe!

I have a couple of the same feeder he shows. What I did and think it’s a way better idea is simple…. It’s to remove the red bell around the tip of each yellow feeder. This way when they come all the see is the yellow plastic mesh. It works great. My birds aren’t obstructed from view. Try it guys!

Use a dish style feeder like Aspects Hummzinger and you won’t need to cover up ports on a feeder.

I feed so many every day folks stop and film them. I would never cover any port. I live in town. My birds know EVERY DAY..they get clean feeders and fresh feed. Twice a day! Yes, I rotate feeders in order to do this. They start at 6AM and finish 8-830 PM. Too many start but don't want the sugar mess..I hate it..but made a commitment. A hummer dies fast without food...maybe day and a half or two. My birds eat all around feeder...I use 16 oz of style you showed. I think easy clean and bee guards even open to assist and can be cleaned. I would ask please don't cover port, me seeing them is not as important as them getting ready for hibernation travel. They buzz me while hanging the feeders. If I want more visualization...I go sit out with them and watch or sit with bowl in my hands..they CAN be hand fed if you need more visualization.

My hummingbirds use every port. I also have multiple birds feeding at once, it would be ridiculous to close off a feeding port. They change sides constantly so there's no use in closing up the one that doesn't face you. This was no helpful tip at all.
