ColesWildBirdProducts

Cole's Wild Bird Products Company is a true mom and pop success story. The mission is to create the absolute best bird feed on the market. Cole's makes a wide variety of wild bird products, including top quality bird seed, speciality suet cakes, and even blends specially designed for all types of critters. Richard and Nancy Cole started the company back in the 1980's right out of their garage. Richard developed Cole's out of a passion to attract all types of wild birds to the family's feeders. When he couldn't find a top quality seed that had everything the birds wanted, he created one. Friends and family were soon buying Richard's special blends of high quality seed. The demand grew into an international company. Today, just like decades ago, the company's main goal is to create the highest quality bird seed on the market. The Cole's are committed to selling the brand in small specialty stores, where quality is appreciated. To find out more, please visit, www.ColesWildBird.com

I haven't put in the effort yet, but I have seen videos with hand made feeders that use cut sections of metal pipe as entry points (two sides are full walls of them) too small for squirrels and larger birds.

I recently put a squirrel baffle device on the pole i hang bird feeders on . Its doing its job of keeping the squirrels out of the bird feed, but now a whole flock of birds can pass over my house, come back and all land in my yard, even land RIGHT on the feeder thats been out there for 4 years now and not touch one morsel of bird seed. I put a bucket of peanuts out far away from the bird feeder for the squirrels, so i don't think the problem. Do the squirrel baffle devices scare the birds? Does anyone know?? Im so sad i don't get to watch the birds from my kitchen window anymore whilst doing dishes😢

bluejays empty out my feeders in 1 day.... 1) we have 2ft of snow on the ground and its -5 out... getting out there every day is difficult. 2) I cannot AFFORD at 50lb bag a week for bluejays... I wouldnt mind feeding them if it werent for those factors.

Try smaller feeders where the blue Jay's have difficulty perching and getting at the seed. In my experience they eat everything. I have several feeders and suet holders, so all the birds are welcome. 🥰

Anyone else remember when the government used the MBTA to steal Geronimo's headdress even though Deming had a letter from Geronimo's son and pictures to prove he had it legally? That's the problem with these laws. The government used them to enrich themselves.

The government has always tried to snub our indigenous culture. I agree with protecting and preserving our birds. In a lot of native culture feathers are seen as a gift from our creator. Not our fault idiots were trigger happy. They did the same thing with the Iyanee and they are just now starting to make a comeback to their native lands

CAVEAT EMPTOR: As my general advice, do not waste your money on the Cole's Nifty Niger feeder, even though it's thoughtfully designed and well made. Spend money instead on a really good premium birdseed that contains (as part of a nut/fruit/seed mix) black oil sunflower seeds and hulled sunflower nutmeat pieces. Finches evidently prefer these, and will ignore your niger feeder! At least they ignore mine. Cole's customer service was very courteous and forthrightly gave me the above information, while assuring me the finches eventually would come to my expensive niger feeder, although on what basis she was so sure I do not know. I seem basically to have spent $50+ on a well-built feeder specialized for less desirable seed! I suppose I could force the finches to the niger feeder by changing the general feeder to low quality milo-type birdseed, but I'm not going to penalize the bigger birds that way. I end as I began: CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Chicago here....I have a little one that decided to stick around this winter. His/her 2 friends must have flown south but this little guy decided to stay. I've got a heat lamp out there along with plenty of feed and I'm encouraging it to build a nest into a makeshift tree I've created for it. It comes every morning ~5:30-6am and hangs out all day...comes and goes. Wish I knew where his nest is:) Love this little one!

I have a large 13 lb. hopper feeder that I fill with whole black oil sunflower, mixed with different kinds of nuts. I have to take this feeder down every evening and hang it back up every morning because of bear, deer, and raccoons that’ll raid it during the night. I leave up my safflower feeder and Niger seed feeders as both of those seeds are very bitter, mammals tend to leave those alone. This may sound like a lot of work, taking that one feeder down every eve and back up every morning, but I’m used to it. And using hot capsaicin treated seed never worked for me.

WHY?! (OH YOU JUST SAID IT, I started writing this comment before I heard the whole video) BUT WHY YOU ASK BECAUSE THEY ARE BULLIES AND INSATIABLE! AT FIRST I HAD BEEN HAPPY TO BE ATTRACTING A FEW BLUEJAYS - NOT ANYMORE! THEY ARE JUST ABSOLUTE BULLIES! THE CHIPMUNKS ARE AFRAID OF THEM THE SQUIRRELS ARE AFRAID OF THEM ALL THE OTHER LITTLE WHOM I'VE BEEN HAPPY TO FEED FOR YEARS ARE ALL DISPLACED AND INTIMIDATED BY A FEW BLUE JAYS AND THEIR FRIENDS! LAST YEAR I HAD ONE MAYBE TWO BLUE JAYS WHO WOULD COME AND FEED AND I WAS HAPPY TO FEED THEM, BUT THIS YEAR IT IS JUST GOTTEN OUT OF HAND AND THEY'VE GONE AND TOLD ALL FRIENDS THAT I AM GENEROUS AND I HAVE GOOD FEED! I JUST CAN'T KEEP UP! I AM DISABLED AND ON A VERY MODEST FIXED INCOME AND THE BLUE JAYS ARE DEMANDING I FEED THEM WITH $15 OF PEANUTS EVERY TWO DAYS! THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD. AND WHEN THE BLUE JAYS ARE NOT HEAR GOBBLING UP ALL THAT THEY, IT'S A HUGE FLOCK OF PIGEONS THAT WON'T LET UP AND BETWEEN THE BOTH OF THEM ALL THE OTHER LITTLE BIRDS I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH
