I’d like to thank each and everyone who came out to share stories and experiences of the greatest country music artist ever !! In my opinion if it means anything

I met Merle and a concert of his. Little did anyone expect 6months he would be gone. He took a picture with me and signed my ticket. One of , if not the greatest act of kindness in my life. Lets just say it is "My Favorite Memory" to quote the HAG!

I saw Merle in person twice once in sreveport last time in Desmoines is his shows I sang every song with the hag from I saw this great singer and song writer all I can say he was so great he will allways be to me the hag

I saw him on my birthday and was totally surprised I love Merle haggard

Merle Haggard was the ultimate cowboy, the very best song writer, he could take any song and make it sound like he wrote it. R.I.P. Merle, you will always be a legend in my mind!

I saw Merle Haggard in 1974 at the Spokane Exposition! I had fallen in love with “If We make it through December” hearing it on the radio. My husband and I bought tickets to his show!! I’ll never forget that night!! He came and sat on a chair with his guitar and no band! The concert hall was full and he mesmerized all of those people including me!! Merle was a great show man as well as a great country singer! He never lost his audience ‘s or my attention that night! It is really something when a man can sit on a chair with his guitar and keep everyone’s attention for two hours straight!! I will never forget it or him! Have loved Merle and his music forever!!😊

Love THE HAG and his music. Y’all forgot Rambling Fever, The Fugitive, Swinging Doors, and Branded Man to name just a few. All in all a great tribute to a great man and a great artist. Is truly missed RIP MERLE HAGGARD!

My Dad played Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Sr. songs. Back in the 60's and 70's. He played at The Maverick Club in Las Vegas Nevada. I was i Oklahoma City April 6, 2016 taking my brother in law to pick up his car he was getting ready to make arrangements for my nephew's funeral. Who passed away April 4 2016 . There was a Breaking News on the TV while waiting. Merle Haggard has passed from pneumonia. It broke my heart.My dad is now gone. December 21,2016. I Loved it when my dad Sang Merle Haggard song Silver Wings. Thank you for sharing this

I spent some of my greatest years working there with so many wonderful people and had the great privilege of meeting and getting to know so many of you in the world of country music and Merle Haggard was one of the greatest and lord I wish for those days to reach out and touch me once again

I love this country music I wouldn't say I like the new I won't listen to it

I would think that most of his conversations of substance and emotion evolved into lyrics for a song. The lyrics are critical in his songs, but the melodies are the backbone, his guitar compositions the best. What a gift to our musical world he was and always will be. I am so happy his sons are here for us and I want all the best for all four.

I love me some Merle Haggard he was my favorite I was born in the '60s so I grew up listening to him whenever I could I listen to him on TV I went to see his son to play the church when he come to homanoke Arkansas one time that was a great thrill too Merle I miss you the world has never be the same without you but now you're up in heaven with my daddy George Jones the possum and everybody else that you loves Miss you Merle Marty and the other boys please keep your daddy's music alive because there is no more good country music even your dad said that

I. Met Merle in 1974 at tibidoueax civic center he an Marty Robbins was doing a package show Merle was cause of getting to stay at both his shows 2 pm An. 7.pm shows he was doing a sound check. Right before 2. Pm show an he invited me up on stage fixing his sound. An sighn my tee shirt ps. He let me stay both shows no charge it was so nice Merle was so nice to me, that civic center was in Louisiana sorry with me keeping my comment long!

Hi Wayne Howell, I am from Louisiana also. We missed that concert in Thibodaux but we attended the one in Livingston Parrish around 1968 (? ). He and Bonnie Owens were married and performed together. Wonderful show,great Entertainers and very personable. Great memories! Ms Lou
