Jocky was a true Scottish sports legend.He was such a character on the oche And was amazing to watch RIP Jocky

Met Eric Bristow at the matchplay in Blackpool, and he spoke fondly of Jock. He also told me he was the only darts player at his funeral.

I'm sure some of them tried to get in touch after he left darts without much response. Don't think Jock would have held it against them so neither should we. Glad that Eric went though.

Rod saw Jocky take 1001 points in 19 darts! To take 1001 in 19 darts is otherworldly! That's over 158 average for that game. Fantastic player, his rivarly with Bristow was epic.

I got goosebumps when the crowd started chanting Jocky's name

That's like saying he was the least deadly of the diseases.

Growing up in nz, we seldom got any darts on telly. Usually a few mins highlights. The only players I knew were Bristow, Lowe and the great Jocky Wilson. Until I started watching darts on KZread, about 4 or 5 years ago, I had no idea who Phil, Raymond et all were. But Jocky wad a rare talent. And such a great character. And, sadly a rather tragic one. Please be good to your children. A hard upbringing can destroy even such a great person. It lives with you. Love your children and tell them every day

What an amazing story Jocky has. Went from sweet fuck all to a two time world champion and an all time legend 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Shame how he ended up but his name will always be in the history books as one of Scotland's greatest sportsmen (given how many great sportsmen the Scots have, it's some achievement).
