Congrats on buying some land, hopefully we'll see a lot more videos from you in the future. Good idea to start the orchard now before the house as they'll take a couple of years to get going. Will be interested to see what sort of winter climate you get in your area.

Looks awesome! I miss Damsen plums - my Nana had a tree, made a great jam. I look forward to seeing how you transform the place. Great move getting the trees in, it'll help it feel more like home through all the work you have ahead and give them time to mature before you need them :)

Glad to see you’re growing passion vines! I have one I bought last year for the flowers but now hoping to get some fruit. I’ve been researching and found that you need 2 genetically diverse plants for fruiting to happen. Not sure exactly what that means, though I do know I can’t use a clone (cutting). I bought some maypop seeds earlier this year. I believe they are self-pollinating. I’m hoping they can/will also pollinate the original passion vine. Not sure that’s possible. I’ve managed to get one seed to germinate thus far and it only took 2 weeks! Of course I scarified them and soaked them for 48 hours before planting. I have 4 more I’m waiting on to come up. Also have 10 more seeds in case I need to try again.

NIce one, good luck with the maypop. I've wanted to get these before but you're not allowed to grow them in New Zealand due to the risk of their invasivness

What happened to all the plants you grew from seedlings 6 years back. I'm very curious about those.

Congratulations! Nice place! By the way ... Where is it located? If you don’t mind sharing! ... By the way find out if your gala Apple tree needs a pollinator to produce fruit! I believe gala needs a pollinator! What was the name of your tropical tree covered with a blanket? Thanks much for sharing! I am a freak about growing tropical trees in colder climates! I can share a lot of tips based on my experience! Let me know! I might be helpful to you! Lol Greetings from the city of Tracy in Northern California (San Joaquin Valley) Central Valley! 🇺🇸

The water is collected from our roof, and goes into the tanks. We then have a pump that pumps it into all the taps and hoses :)

It's scary to see that Paspalum (4:14) is a weed even in New Zealand. It's a real pest in some gardens of the US east coast. Understandable that you don't want to give your exact location but roughly what part of NZ is this? There's a big difference in climate from, let's say, central Otago to Taranaki. Although you probably aren't in the former or you wouldn't be growing passion fruits and avocados!

Good spotting! The paspalum at least dies off during winter, but yea it can be a pain! I’m just south of the Auckland area, though as I’m in a rural area we do get maybe around 10 good frosts a year
