    We are doing something very similar (multi-generational on 20 acres)....you're a few years ahead of us though! I haven't met anyone that has had something built and said "man, that went exactly as planned"!!

    It’s been amazing being able to watch your guys journey. What a blessing to have both sets of parents so close. You guys are an inspiration. If you are willing to share, it would be fun to see the journey of how you thought you would get to this point compared to how you actually got to this point. My hubby and I are currently trying to save for land, but as you know...prices have skyrocketed. Super happy for you that you guys got the land before that happened!! ❤️

    I recommend not having ducks in the creek. It will be nasty downstream. It’s more work intensive filling a small pool but better environmentally. Living traditions is a good example of how to build with a valve to empty it and fill with a hose.

    I've been following since I was pregnant at the same time as you with Aerie. I lost touch with you all after your move into your newer build. Just came to this channel and I am so impressed and just so happy for you all. 2020 was the hardest year in my life to date. And this video has just given me a reminder of peace and that life will get better. Hold to the dreams and think about the big picture. Anyway. Sorry for a long comment. God bless ❤ -Sarah from FL

    @@regenranch we just moved from Ca to Pa in April. Honest boxes (money boxes) are left locked on tables or handmade vegetable boxes, and people sell produce all along back country and main roads around here. Maybe give that a whirl 🙂 We’ve personally bought from them. They also do that with bundles of wood around here. We’ve been slowly stocking up for winter from the road side wood sales.

    What type of electric fence/electric tape are you using for the chickens? What type of fence are you using for Lavender and Calvin? Is it partially electric too?

    What made you decide to let Lavender have free roam at night vs Calvin? Also, how did you get them used to coming into the barn? (I'm a new subscriber but recently bought 20 acres myself in Idaho)

    I am just wandering - Is this a religious thing (which is fine), Is this like a David Koresh compound kind of thing?? How do you make money? Most families don't live with there inlaws and parents living on the same property. It's kind of weird.

  • @regenranch

    @regenranch

    2 жыл бұрын

    Lol 🤣 no not a religious thing. A lot of families actually do this, especially as of lately with the current state of the world. It was what was normal before the Industrial Age hit actually 🤪 I suppose a lot of families couldn’t do this anymore because most people do not have healthy enough relationships to be able to handle the close proximity. My parents and my husbands just happened to become best friends early on in our relationship (10+ years ago). My husband, my mom, and my father-in-law all have worked from home for several years! So we had the flexibility to move wherever we wanted. We have always planned to buy land and build houses on it because we like being around one another. Being able to have our kids grow up so close to their grandparents is truly a blessing we will never take for granted!

    I am planning to buy in KY and at least one of my sons wants to move his family there and build his home on it. That way we can homeschool the grandkids, I can do the garden and animals and they can do what they want for a living. I think it’s a great idea to be close to the grandkids..
