A Tour of My Closet // How I Store My Wardrobe
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I get asked how I store things all the time, so I figured my old closet tour video needed an updated cousin for those who missed seeing it! I changed the way I store a few things anyway.
My accessory collection is from 10/11 years of collecting, hunting down bargains, thrifting things inexpensively, and sewing or making things myself. I like to pay $10 not $100, so I will wait for bargains to show up online and it does happen as long as you are willing to sift through a lot of listings!

But wait there's more! A PO BOX finally wahoo!
First, a disclaimer: So many of you have kindly offered to send me things, including vintage items you may have inherited, and I am so honored you would think of me and of course I do adore vintage treasures, however, unfortunately I only have so much storage space currently! So there is a chance that if something just wont work for me, or doesn't fit me etc, that I may not be able to keep all of your lovely things. Please only send things if you are okay with the possibility that I may donate items I just cannot keep. If you would prefer I put things that I can't keep into the TCH Etsy shop to help raise funds for me and the channel, please specify this in a note or letter in your parcel. Thank you so much!

A young couple (Japanese/American) who live in Japan did a video on Kimono because there were people in the US who complained about non-Japanese wearing kimono/Japanese items. The couple went to the kimono makers - who promptly said "We want people to wear kimono of all types. We don't care who wears them. It keeps our craft alive". So go wear your Haori Jackets.and be happy. The makers of them don't want them moldering in boxes/drawers.
Frame that beautiful hair comb in a shadowbox and hang it up as the art it is. That way you can enjoy an share its beauty and protect it at the same time.

I agree. But it’s such a pity. I live in Australia and my son could scan and 3D print it for you! There would be places where you are that would do it, I’m sure. It shouldn’t cost more than $30 or $40 US. So sad we aren’t closer to help out.

Great idea!
Now, I watch *almost* every video you put out and so I can say with confidence that I would watch a shoe collection video. I imagine if you approached it like a flip book you could get through more shoes in less time. However, absolutely no pressure either way. You must do what feels right for you. Lol.

Always enjoy your vids, Bianca! It is your spontaneous, witty, sometimes-snarky commentary that I enjoy as much as what you show us! Having said that, I would like to see all the things!! I think any cultural item, when worn with respect and appropriately should be worn so it can be appreciated. This whole cultural appropriation thing is so far off the mark...Always it is a matter of respect not costume.
I like how neatly you have everything stored utilizing every bit of available space. The handbags and jewelry collections were the most amazing. I was elated to see a certain treasure on the shelf. Yes, you must do a shoe video. It is always nice to see others have descended into that madness too, lol. Stay strong and healthy!

@@TheClosetHistorian, you're welcome, dear! But, no need; that was thank you enough. Enjoy! ❤️
Thanks for posting this! It helped fill the gap in my life now that all the thrift stores are closed. I would love to see a tutorial on how to wear those hair combs :)
When you opened the drawer with the gloves in it, I literally "squeeeed" LOL. I know people expect to see shoes and hats and whatnot with a vintage collector, but many forget that ladies also wore gloves. My mother was very stylish and always wore gloves. I still have most of her gloves, including the light blue ones she wore as an Avon lady. Because of my mom, I have a very warm feeling for gloves.
I think I'd quite enjoy a shoe video. And as for scanning to 3D print things, once the quarantine has eased up, you should look whether you local libraries and/or universities have 3D printers you can use (often for very cheap!). Another great thing to 3D print if you're legally able to would be those Mervin Wave clips!
Enjoyed everything. But the handbags made me super happy, love love love them! I’m a collector too, 75+ , still looking for a plasti-flex in the wild. Tfs 👍

Thanks Angella! I actually found one in an antique mall recently! It's got a few broken tiles, but is mostly all right, and it's one I already have so after I fix it up it will be going in my Etsy shop ;)
Shoes! Yes please! Break it down into a couple of videos, maybe by season or type of shoe (sandals, evening, etc.) if you want. A girl can never have enough shoes!💖
Yess I was hoping you’d make a video like this! 🙌
I love your storage solutions! I need a couple of those tall, skinny dressers. They seem so useful.
I'm impressed that you know Deyrolle. It took me 16 trips to Paris to learn of it! What a unique find! J'adore Paris!!
I solemnly swear that I will watch every second of your shoe collection video. I’m on a limited budget right now so I live vicariously through your closet; I just love seeing the things you find and how you style them!
Absolutely like how you keep your closet and drawers. You're so neat and organized. Your comb collection is fabulous.
Thank you so much for inspiring me to wear my own jewelry. I put my mother's brooch on my denim shirt. I feel glam. By the way if you need any ideas for videos, how about a tutorial on knocking a pattern off an existing garment? Maybe that vintage 40's dress you got on a haul a few months back?
The scarf and glove organization is so satisfying

So much fun seeing your collection. I have my grandmothers jewelry and a fur coat and mink stole(?)and one of her dresses. I have no idea what to do with them. I used to have her hats too but gave them away years ago. I love looking at these things. Ah days gone by.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, and I love your channel. I also wear vintage, so some of your things, like the jewelry and bags, are similar to mine. When my mom passed, she left me beautiful full slips and peignoirs. Also, lots of costume jewelry, seamed stockings, wrist and opera-length gloves, and mirrored makeup compacts from the '60s. Unfortunately, I'm the only one in my family who appreciates vintage.
I would love to see your whole shoe collection! ❤❤❤
Fashion doesn't belong to anyone. I say wear what you like. If a garment has of sacred/religious importance, then obviously steer clear if you are not a practicing member. But we have all exchanged ideas between cultures & ethnicities, ideas about clothing or food or whatever. That's what makes the World so rich. Appreciating is not Appropriating. If you are not claiming something as your own, if you are not erasing the origin, then you are free to partake in whatever you so choose. Don't get caught up in the mights and maybes.

Plus if the Japanese don't want someone to ware their historical costumes, then they would not sell them or copies of them in the shops around Japan. I can't see why she can't ware them. It shows that she appreciates the Japanese culture. I also strongly believe that appropriation is a form of self censorship. It's people who do this to themselves and others.... it's like " I can't ware this amazingly generous whatever because I'll be ripping of such and such culture." It's not ture, I believe that it is a way of showing appreciation and love of another culture. Sorry about the rant. I do so agree with you.

Co-worker? You mean boss! What a collection, fantastic. I would love to see some super super glam looks with jewels and fake furs. And we’ve got time for the shoe video 😉
¡Wow! What a closet! I just love it!
Love your comb collection! For the dying one, I would put it in a shadow box and hang it on the wall. It is so beautiful! Maybe for the good condition ones, you could find out if there is a way to preserve them somehow. I think they get dry and brittle and lose their structure. and maybe heat is not good for them. I 'm just guessing. great video!
I'm surprised how much things we have in common. I really love your stlyle,I have some of the same pieces exactly. Yes I have some real cute vintage stuff too.but thanks for sharing.oh I have a lot of thifted scarfs also.love them. It can really make an outfit look totally different right.love what your doing ,keep it up.i think I will clean up my closet since we're stuck in.nothing but time.
So much collection envy 😍
I have like 5 pairs of shoes, because I’m not a shoe person, but those beaded American Duchess shoes are just a.m.a.z.i.n.g. 🤩
I promise to watch the whole shoe video!
The shoe storage with ‘window’ is a great idea for hats. Please consider sharing how you made your fruity hat.
I want the long avoided shoe video, please. Really enjoyed the combo of Lego, hair pins and fragile China. Ironic decorating is a big thing with me. What about a series where you take one, sensational piece ( handbag, hat, shoes, jewelry piece, etc) and use it as the focal point to style a whole look around it?
Your subscriber count is really moving up! I’d love to see you over 100,00 by this time next year. Your ideas and personality are quite unique! Thanks for the great video.

Hi Bianca!! Excellent vlog.. Would love to see more of your collections you haven’t showed us yet... 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
I recently saw a short segment on TV re cultural appropriation and the people of Japan specifically. Japanese people were interviewed and all said they are proud of their traditional fashion and don’t mind at all if Westerners (or other cultures) wear it. It is beautiful and they want all people to appreciate and wear it. So go ahead! Wear your items.

Yes, shoes, love shoes, can't wear heels now hips are shot, I used to wear the classic stelletos, your clothes are stored so neatly, when I used to wear the petticoat for the çircular skirts we stored them on the curtain rail, but we had no space and no idea that they were so special.

While you may have done something else in the last four years with that stunning large comb, I’d have it encased in resin. It’ll freeze it in time forever and make a beautiful art piece
I promise I will watch the hole video😍 shoes!!!!!!!

you could try to make a mold off your comb and make a new one in acrylic. Many videos on making rubber molds, my man tried it with video help and rubber mold componends and it worked quite well.
