McLeod Ganj looks like an amazing town with great friendly people. Imagine doing a meditation class at the Dalai Lama’s palace, that would be an experience. Lots of quaint streets and lanes to explore, and so cheap. I know you have been there before but thank you for revisiting and showing your newer viewers this amazing part of the world. Looking forward to the hike in part II and more of the grand Himalaya mountains.❤

Yes-ji, McLeod is still interesting and great for brief visits, restaurants, shopping, Dharma contacts, etc., and a good staging place for further trekking and travels. But it's topographically tough (narrow lanes, steep inclines), and nowadays congested, over-developed and over-commercialized. Prices and polllution have increased. It would be good if some areas were off limits for car traffic. Between 1991 - 95 I lived in Dharamsala (mostly Tibetan Library and Kotwali Bazaar areas), and it was enjoyable and less hectic to visit Upper Dharamsala (McLeod, etc.). For a peaceful life and spiritual pursuits in Himachal other settlements or places might be more suitable. I lived in Bir between 1995 - 98, and since then have revisited India a few times. Ge'o!

Hi Gabriel, I'm wondering if is this the place where they have skirmishes with China and India border which back in 50's, or 60's England created a border between the two countries guessing between McLeod Ganji, India and China Border many stick fights have happened over the years. This area very much looks commerical in could see where many different businesses are sort of like Katmandu but a bit more relaxing look forward to seeing you on a trekk around the Himalayas.

Not sure how you're getting 1G there 😂 Yes the Dharamsala Mcleodganj Gondola is new and the region is recovering from a torrential flood and landslide so power cuts and road repairs are common right now.

Inaccurate account of what happened in Tibet but widely circulated in the west. It was rebellion in Tibet over the slave system, ccp wanted to abolish it and the feudal government in Tibet refused

I don't know what exactly was happening in Tibet at the time, but regardless, what business did China have in the affairs of Tibet, an independent country at the time? This is an absurd justification for one country completely taking over another country.
