In this video, I'll discuss the unique aspects of Leander, including its mixed school reviews, growth due to the new high-speed toll road HWY 183a, and the last stop on the Metro Rail to downtown Austin. I'll also cover the upcoming attractions, including a man-made lagoon and a new shopping center.
Due to the growth of the Austin area, affordable homes are constantly being pushed further north of the central Austin area. However, Leander is a special growing location in the Austin area.
Due to the newness of the area, the schools have mixed reviews. With all the investment and growth in the city, the ratings have steadily improved as the city has grown. The original HWY 183 turned into a normal city street with many stoplights, making commuting difficult. The new toll road has made it possible to commute to Austin with ease.
As I mentioned before, Leander is getting lots of new home developments but is also about to get some cool attractions to the city. It's been reported that it's getting a man-made four-acre crystal clear lagoon that will be surrounded by over 1 million square feet of commercial space, a hotel, and over 1600 residential units. A new shopping center similar to The Galleria in Bee Caves is also being developed in Leander.
