So enlightening! Kashyap can have his own KZread series where he talks about films and books. Quentin Tarantino did something similar in the 90s. Tarantino did DVD commentary for certain foreign films that were released in the US at that point of time. (Example : Chungking Express)

I've watched 1000-2000 movies and this guy has watched like 10x more movies than me. Having said that, I'm 17 and I dream one day of surpassing him in no of movies watched. I too want to be a filmmaker. Here are my fav movies 1) Close-Up 2) À Bout de Souffle 3) Stalker 4) The Godfather 5) 8 1/2 6) Les Quatre Cents Coups 7) Rashomon 8) Dekalog 9) Yi Yi 10) The Seventh Seal. As of now, I haven't watched all of Kiarostami's works but he's definitely my type of filmmaker... He makes the movies that I'd like to make.

@Light York Most of these movies are getting lost so this means that it wouldn't be that expensive for such huge companies. They can easily afford this easily because if the movie is disappearing, the producers won't see any loss in selling the rights cheap. But they won't buy because they will not get much in return. It won't even affect them if they keep just a few of these legendary films. They can do it just in the name of cinema or vintage pieces of art and if they try maybe even gain profit. I cannot be more elaborate than this.
