This is genuinely my favourite design in all of Beast Wars. I absolutely love the final shot of the Season 2 intro where it zooms in on him, it just looks so deliciously menacing. I really hope we get a Legacy version. I want legacy versions of all the TM designs, but this one specifically

It says a lot about the design that both IDW 2005 and Earthspark based their versions of Tarantulas off of.

Ah yes, Tarantulas, especially the Transmetal version, is a perfectly spooky figure and character to do, especially with what Tarantulas does in the comics

Insecticon & Transmetal Tarantulas were the only BW designs I liked enough as a kid to draw. The former on oversize paper in calligraphy marker & watercolor. The latter in one of my high school sketchbooks in marker. Anddd I just aged myself.

I do see that. I think it also comes across a little different on camera though. The contrast on him is a little different on your eyes.

Happy Halloween to you as well, and I think the answer to that is no. The eyes in his forehead might be real, and the one's in his chest are real in bug mode, but those in his shoulders I don't think are. Otherwise they'd be getting ground into the Dirt every time he drives anywhere.

GREAT VIDEO! Loved the horror narrator persona throughout this review. I was dying to see the Transarts MP style TM Trarantulas for a while. Great comparison. Makes me want to dig out my TM Tarantulas from storage. ALSO i dont know how you feel about modifying your figures, but I put a little bit of yellow paint between the eyes of my TM Tarantulas for the visor look and it was really easy even for someone as imprecise as me. Made the figure look so much better with that little touch-up.

Why has this guy never worked with sideways? Like they were both part of the bad guys but eventually revealed themselves to be working for an at the time unknown third faction and to be playing both sides against each other Really makes me with there was a consistent third faction

I absolutely love Transmetal Tarantulas. One of my favorite designs in the entire show. His shoulder machine guns are amazing. I haven't been buying many transformers lately since I'm running out of space but Transmetal Tarantulas is a character that is needed for the collection. Like izzik2781 said below the final shot of him coming back to life in the season 2 intro is god tier. "I live! IIIIII Liiiiivee! Hahahahaha!" I concur on the animators using black magic to make Beast Wars. I've been watching Energon the last few months and it looks like garbage compared to Beast Wars. The animators on Beast Wars knew where to put the budget. This entire time I never realized his butt is a Stasis Pod. Mainframe you clever bastards. I love the voice you did. Feels like Dracula is doing a toy review.

He only used the shoulder Machine Guns like twice though? When you say the Final Shot, do you mean the First Shot? That was when he was resurrected from being dead at the start of the Second season. ‘I got the original at a convention for 50 cad new which was a bit expensive but it was a new complete version no flaking or missing legs then Transart announced their version and it was an immediate preorder. This is definitely a good Halloween figure review with a fitting arachnophobia character, my next costume ideas are soundwave (more detailed g1) tarantulas (transmetal) scourge (ROTB) and or nezerac (Destiny 2) kinda feel like doing something more detailed or bulky this time around

That's honestly a decent enough price, even if it is like 4 times more expensive than he was back in the day.

Regardless of whether or not the designs are actually better or not, I will always prefer the chromed techno organic look of the Transmetal designs. Which is why Animated and ROTB designs for beastformers are some of the coolest ones imo. (Even if I wish the ROTB ones had more color)

Ah, the spookiest psychopath in Transformers. Helps that Tarantulas' transmetal 1 design was one of the few that didn't look awful. I still busted out laughing at his bike spider mode. Honestly, you could do a Halloween review of any transmetal toy and it'd still give me shudders. That first Optimus transmetal...woof it scares me.

No this was the first time I did it, I was worried that this would be really annoying.

While I’m still a bit disappointed that Transart’s Dinobot II got pushed back and this figure took its spot, if it means that figure turns out the best it can be, then it’ll be worth the wait. Plus, this figure still looks awesome. Haven’t ordered it yet, but it’s next up on my priority list alongside Transart’s Transmetal II Cheetor.

Happy Halloween right back! I honestly thing the Original figure might have fewer short commings. You see your mistake was thinking Grimlock means anything. Unlike Slag, Sludge, Swoop, and Snarl, the guy with the name that doesn't start with an S, isn't a word. At best Grimlock is a Troll from some Scandinavian myth. But yeah they just took the words Grim and Lock and stuck them together for him. Like Starscream.

I agree that it could have been handled a bit better, and Blackarachnia would have been the person who had the right, but I do think it makes enough sense. He got absolutely annihilated, and no one was left after that to put him back together. You could theoretically say he survived that, since everyone left not long after that.

I remember hearing rumors back when the BW reissues started that we'd see transmetal rereleases. And...still waiting. Granted if we got new voyagers and deluxes too, I think it could be done well. Like how Silverbolts original toy was about perfect, the Legacy seems more in scale and looks real fun. We'll have to wait and see though. Also, why does Transmetal Megatron specifically go for so much more than Primal Tarantulas and Cheetor? That's..just confusing to me. Nonetheless a proper Halloweeny review.

It's pretty great, if you don't chose to Transform it. If you do, it can loose a bit of it's luster.

Interesting. I think look at it, I prefer this one.

The only Transarts figure I have is Ravage, who I got because it’s legit cheaper than the Hasbro one, and he’s absolutely great I still want a legacy Transmetal tarantulas
