It's my guess, from first-hand experience, that your broken brassicas and displayed netting will have been done by foxes. The net itself I doubt would have been heavy enough to break the plant, and cats don't tend to walk over stuff like that - whereas foxes just jump on EVERYTHING!

In hot weather red foxes often shed their fur in clumps which can look disconcerting and is often mistaken for mange, however you are right to be highly cautious and I’d suggest being equally cautious with Rocky who could pick it up from them if it is about.

I think the fox has been sleeping where the net broke and he or she broke the brassicas. 🦊 Edit:Just realised another comment already let you know! Were all thinking the same 😂

Hi Emma and everyone I’m not sure if you already know this or not but I’ve just found out that the extra little nub above the spout on the watering can is for the rose head to sit when you are not using so you don’t lose it hope this helps you and some others out

Hi Emma. I've never used sticking plaster, but I do use parcel tape to rescue plants that need saving after me breaking their stems. So far, I've saved a cucumber, a sunflower, and a purple sprouting broccoli...use what you have...the results can be surprising. ❤

Always snip the flowers off potatoes so the plant focuses all its energy on the potatoes. You’ll get a much better harvest. Mine are delicious this year. Who would have thought searching through compost for your potatoes would be so satisfying. 🥔 ❤ 😊 ( Poor Mr Fox. I hope his mange gets better. I hope some kind soul helps him). 🦊

There is a way to pull the string on those bags so that it just unweaves itself and comes away without tearing the bag. I managed to do it once on a large bag of potatoes, should have noted how I did it because I've never managed to duplicate the method. Edit; did a search and there are a few vids on KZread under "how to open an Asian rice bag" which show how to open woven string sealed bags without tearing.

I snapped a tomato plant’s stem almost completely off and all I could think of to do was sellotape it back up and then sellotape it to a bamboo cane to support it. Amazingly it is still alive and now forming tomatoes. I have added extra supports to help carry the weight of the tomatoes just in case they get too heavy. If it works then who cares! 😆

Great video! It’s nice to see wildlife is in your farm your urban farm lol love it. I hope you saw my comment a couple weeks ago with your tomato plants in your little poly tunnel. You can probably culture and plant companion plants! And I don’t know if I told you about the Native American Indians do the three sisters planting which is curcurbita so I was told they scoop a hole throw a fish in the plant, pumpkin, the corn, and the beans so the corn goes tall the beans use it like a trellis and the pumpkin shades the garden keeps the soil moist and keeps the weeds away. You can add another sister by putting a pollinator.

I am so glad I found your channel. Your visitor was a surprise! He was bold, until he wasn’t. Birds got at my sunflower sprouts in my own garden, and your cornflowers have me deciding to sow my own cornflower seeds in that empty space. I have sunflowers sprouting in more or less that whole row but I’m going to inject some chaos there with some blue and dark purple cornflowers!

I also liked the plaster bit I have not seen Anyone do that before! When you think about it this is much like a grafting. I have seen folks make the cut like grafting and re connect them wrapped and they will grow. The accidental gardener was hilarious as well..Thank you for the fantastic video today have a great week Cya next time

Your little red fox has mange and possibly the reason your allotment adopted cat is no longer around. The fox not the mange and definitely not rabies!. We have great weather, it maybe short lived but its wonderful for our allotments. Your dry soil could do with some 'compost tea' but first you need to get a sample under the microscope to check what is thriving down there but most importantly, what's not. The healthier the compost the better the tea!. Keep whacking things in though.

I can never remember which of the individual strands to pull to open these types of bags, so it's a bit hit and miss - but it's strangely satisfying when you pull on the correct one and the whole thing just kind of 'unzips' :)

Be careful with foxes like that, sometimes when animals (that usually come out at night) are around during the day and are less scared of people it’s a sign of rabies. Also, it was heading straight for water, which is a symptom of rabies in animals. It’s probably not, but it pays to be cautious. 👍🏻
