Wait are you saying this is for real? I am not American but an Indian and am questioning why my friends even decided to immigrate there. Insulin is like 20 dollars here and that too you can get it subsidized for in most cases. I commented this before and guys here were saying this is true in all medical related fields for America. Which makes me sad now.... Coz i just got a job at a pharma firm

@@caniblmolstr4503 without insurance in America basic medicine can be extremely expensive. Insulin is one of those medicines. But insurance is also extremely expensive here. Our politicians are basically in league with the pharmaceutical companies to allow them function with barely any oversight on the cost of medicine and medical procedures. They pay out politicians to vote against any measures to secure stable price tags for medications.

Actually I don't think this was a fake marriage at all. Of course the love came much later , and they did say yes for the benefits. But in no way the ever acted as if they weren't married. They have consummated the marriage, the stayed loyal to each other, and they cared for the other. In health and sickness, in rich and poor. They never broke their vows. In an other country or an other time it would been a arranged marriage.

Have you not been paying attention? Cassie had known Frankie way longer, she used to babysit him and he’s like a little brother to her. They were friends since childhood so she was hurting just as much, if not more. She may have had her dreams come true but you’re making it seem like she didn’t suffer in the story too. She has to cope with an illness such as diabetes, she struggled financially, she lost her childhood friend and then almost lost her mother because of her husband. I’d say she earned her success and she wasn’t unscathed.

There needs to be justice, a world justice.

Agreed. Unfortunately all governments in the world are run by mafias and corporate sectors and they don't even care about the welfare of common people whatsoever. From that movie what I assume that health system in America is only for rich people and common people cannot afford it. Thank God here in Pakistan we have now good medical facilities due to 1 Million PKR "Health Card Insurance" for every family living in Punjab & KPK provinces and now we can get treatment in private hospitals for free on this health card. Former PM Imran Khan did this for us in his short tenure but unfortunately he was thrown out of the government on taking stand on Sovereignty of the Country against the wishes of US Establishment & Biden administration. I like this movie but there is something that rubs me the wrong way. When he came back with his injury, his dead friend and his PTSD, the movie didn't show much compassion nor empathy from the girl. And I know it's complicated to go from "freedom" to having to take care for someone you barely know, but I can't imagine myself treating a man who went though all of this the way she did. You don't need to fall in love with someone to be able to go out of your way and take care of the person. I just felt a big lack of empathy from the woman in this movie and didn't like it. Now yes it's talking about something important, healthcare system in America. I'm a foreigner so I don't know much about it, just heard many times that it sucks. I hope things will change in the future. Not only this actually but how parents approval is important, even when their kids are adults. Drugs, the addiction and the addicted. Being able to come clean is very difficult, many people don't and just die miserable. Some drug addicts would do crazy things for some money, for just a bit of drug. And a Home, this is important as well. Going back home, a comfortable and safe place, going home to the one we love, to peace
@WhitneyDahlin
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree! I really felt like this movie was trying to do too much. It was trying to be a love story, it was trying to be a story about recovering from addiction, it was trying to be a story about the military, it was trying to be about grief and loss, it was trying to be a story about not giving up on your dreams, there was just way too much going on! It felt like this movie didn't have a consistent theme or message it was kind of all over the place. Now if this had been turned into a TV show instead and they had spent a little more time with the characters and their struggles I think this could have gotten really popular and been a much better story overall.

I totally agree. It pissed me off how she was treating him so awfully. She got what she needed, but didn't even act like she was in love or even shown any remorse of his injury or even took care of him. She just acted like it was an inconvenience to her. The first minute they're alone she tells him she's not cooking for him 🙄 like just say you're not the best chef. He didn't even want her to take care of him. THE AUDACITY OF THIS GIRL.

@@laffin_out_loud it really hurts. I understand she lost a good friend as well but still. They could have shown us two adults who support each other in such a difficult time, even though they don't know each other much. It also makes me think that nowadays, we really don't care about people, there is a big lack of empathy in our society. In the movie, without talking much to him she acts like he is not worth it. Of course at the end she realizes that he is indeed worth it, but I hope that if I ever find myself in such a situation I would pay more attention to the man I'm with, support him, help building a peaceful home where he can rest and feel safe. Suicide and mental health is something we barely talk about when it comes to men. And this movie is one more missed occasion to bring this issue up. Also the way veteran are treated by people and the government. In France the government don't care much, veteran end up being alcoholic, violent...etc because their mental health is not being taken care of

Them living together should’ve been an obvious thing they needed to do when he came back. Also, lots of couples get divorced when spouse from military returns whether physically injured or not. On fact, it’s usually more about mental and emotional issues so quickie marriage with a divorce within the first year of dude returning wouldn’t be weird or look outta place or wrong. People get married, stay married, get divorced for financial or other reasons (not love). As long as you don’t tell anyone then no one will know. My 1st hubby’s parents got divorced bc his mom co-signed a house. His dad didn’t trust him to pay right. He didn’t want his credit jacked. Right Move! Bc my first hubby defaulted and his mom’s credit got fckd!

I thought this was a really good movie. It showed real world problems and what people will do when wither then or their loved ones life is in danger, and how 2 people from completely different backgrounds and ideas can meet and actually be together, it sucked that their best friend died and he got dishonorable discharged, but instead of taking her down with him either cause of his love for her or it was the right thing to do was a good final twist. It’s good that Evie from the Disney Descendants movies has found other projects since her Disney days. She still is a beautiful young woman.

LOVE THIS! I strongly believe that this movie should come back with a part two. Why? Well because it was the best movie Sofia Carson very acted in. I can see this movie going in different directions but one way could be be where Luke takes a year or two off from his military job and use that to spend time with Cassie by remarrying her the right way with their friends and family at their wedding and Luke helping Cassie out with her music career. I don't know how this could be adding in the film but that down the road we see that Cassie and Luke end up having kids together that take after them and do the same things like they to do in life. Maybe the having kids part can be something that gets saved for a third movie but who knows, maybe it can be a little 5 to 10 minute movie ending scene that gets people wanting another Purple Heart movie. If we all blow up every chat box for everything about Purple Heart that we want another one that I'm sure it could happen someday at some point but it does like take a year or two to get everything filmed and edit before we could see the new movie. Being it had taken so long for the first one to come out, I beet it would be the same with the next one. Being that I love this movie and I bet others do as well, I would like it if you guys can turn the story I am working on into a good one like this movie was. I'm using Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine as the main characters for my story being I think there love was real, not for just there characters but for there real selfs. If you want to help then kindly open the link and have at it. Do whatever you can to make it as good as this movie was. If you run out of your meds, and the pharmacy cannot billed your insurance because the medication is coming out as too soon to be refill you can actually go to the emergency room and they can write a prescription for another insulin or change the directions ( since she is running out of her meds too soon that means she is taken them more often than how it was prescribed in the first place which is normal since the dose she used will depend on her glucose levels).. the movie made it more complicated but Yh.. going to the emergency room or calling your doctor explaining the situation would have helped her.. it’s insulin so ER would not make a big deal out of it and they would helped Now In the case of control substance ( since they are addictive) it can be complicated to get more meds before they are due to be refill

Yeah that scene at the pharmacy was unrealistic unless the pharmacy technician likes to watch people suffer or is incompetent. I work at a pharmacy. If she ran out of insulin, then that means that she was using more than what the prescription says. It happens. The doctor might have told her she could use more insulin, but they didn't give the pharmacy an updated prescription. So, I would have called or faxed the doctor's office and asked for an updated prescription with the new directions. After receiving the new prescription, I would have called the insurance company and asked for a "therapy change" override. It's usually no big deal. However, this is a movie, so they need drama. It probably would have been more realistic if her co-pay was extremely high due to premiums/share of cost. I still really liked the movie.

@@carmen_says_hi I used to work at a pharmacy and what you just said is absolutely right… that would be option A but if the incident happens on a weekend, or during a time that the doctor is not working then we would recommend the patient to go to the emergency room to get a prescription for a one time refill, until the pharmacy or the patient can get a hold of the doctor..

@WhitneyDahlin
