Note: I've covered an early demo build of Anglerfish on the channel before, but the full(ish) game has just been released on Steam (they're planning on releasing free DLC updates in the future that I may check out too). Something changes in the game every time you die, so I've tried to showcase that as much as possible in the video too.

Our very first game, The ER (a free 6 minute horror game.) Alpha Beta Gamer was the first to pick it up and show it. That's why it's still a special feeling we get when we see a video from Alpha Beta Gamer with one of our games. In this case Anglerfish.

Love the game! Excellent blend of scary yet whimsical and interesting

The fact they had a child has some... implications that I don't want to think about but yeah, they caught me off guard in the best of ways.

I immediately recognized that hospital, it's from Patient Typhon! They also made that game.

That's a masterpiece! It's not that often we're getting weird things with intriguing plot, well done gameplay, great sound design and recognisable visual. Thanks for sharing all those new things with us! I've been waiting for this particular one since first demo

I love professional villains games, the art style the quirky tone and the uneasy feeling they manage to sprinkle over. The wee connections between the games are a nice touch too. Always a treat.

8:14 there is an old saying that I totally didn't make up that you should be wary of helping out frogs to get out of ditches because the moment you do, they'll jump into a second ditch. What it means is that people who get themselves into predicaments will not only not learn what got them into the predicament but will also blame you for getting them into the same predicament after you helped them out of it while simultaneously expecting you to help them again (so the cycle repeats). You just tried to help and this is what you get here.

What a cool game. Very creative and free wheeling, great mix of silent hill type theming and some great jokes.

@@missachua Yeah, there were at least two references. Right now I remember the Jules Winfield cameo, and one about the restaurant robbery (unless it was the same one, and what I recall was something else).

This game is really weird in a positive way! There's one thing that still bothers me - female characters inside the bar look a little bit like movie characters. Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Princess Leia, Leeloo, or maybe it's just my imagination :3 What do you think?

I liked it. Reminded me of a mix between True Lies on Sega Genesis and (Re)Loaded on psx. My biggest complaints would be the meta humor, pop culture references (yes, The Bride in the restrooms, Jules showing up, Trejo as the bartender, Mia with the syringe in the heart) and the devs breaking the 4th wall. It breaks the immersion and it just shows the dev's ego imo. But otherwise, yeah, It was fun!

Hi! I don't think there's any cultural relevance. All of their group are dressed like that because it's the theme for their stag night.
