Big long long time Dallas fan here.. I remember a few years back there was speculation the Cowboys wanted to sign him.. I wanted him so bad and don’t even follow college ball at all.. I remember just wanted to get rid of Garrett I would of take jake from State Farm to coach our boys. Now I’m soooo glad we never did. What a clown. IMO

Question is.. was he behaving that way when he was a college coach?? I've been around terrible leaders and of course you get the mission done.. but.. morale is crap! I can't imagine he created teams with bad morale and won as many games as he did. But.. then.. maybe that's who he is as a person. Apparently so.

How does someone with no proven record of developing a QB in college get the chance to do so with the #1 draft pick in the NFL? He fooled so many people with his rhetoric, gets to walk away with millions, and will likely get more chances to coach and/or make more millions.

@@michaelschaefer1904 , you cherry picked my statement to make a point which has little to do with Urban Meyer. Alex Smith was already at Utah and Urban brought a good scheme and game plan. OSU and FL had top recruiting classes and teams but no #1 QBs in the draft and none of them from his time coaching are playing QB currently. My point, as stated originally, is that he doesn’t develop QBs. I stand by that statement.

Been watching football since mid-80s and I don't recall any coach getting fired before the end of his first season. As Rich says, Petrino left after 13 games by his own choice and I remember a few other hc's only managing one full season - for example Cam Cameron 07 Dolphins, the Cards replacement for Arians a couple of years ago, the Browns guy around 2013, Joe Bugel 1997 Raiders / Art Shell 2006 Raiders, Rod Rust 1990 Patriots. But ownership always let those guys finish the season out however bad it had been.
