    This is a performance that I keep returning to. I was never a fan before I heard this. I don't know what could have been done to make this a more heart felt tribute, or to put more feeling in this song. The incredible musicians backing her up also deserve a lot of praise.

    @@williamrolls4504 it’s slowly warming up to normal seasonal temps of -17C. We had the longest vortex of enduring-38C , -52C with windchill. How about you? How is the weather where you live?

    Coffee Brown Lucinda is not really country she is more Americana then anything but she despises labels on music. She is very soulful and I’ve seen her about 10 times.

    I visited the Singer and Song Writer's Hall of Fame in Nashville about 15 years ago. They had a special display on James Burton with a Telecaster and a knee-high stack of r ecords he been played on. On top was Gram's Return of the Grievous Angel. All those great albums but Gram on top.

    That was an interesting way of saying that. But have you noticed that people that actually have a sore can sometimes get so shattered that they doubt that their soul is left? Oh there are some people that never had a soul in the first place. And they are beyond help. I try to be kind and gracious to everyone, but sometimes you just have to walk away. But with Lucinda, I run towards her and her music.

    Angela Esmiol Keith wrote no songs with Gram. They hung out, jammed, partied heavily and were friends from 68 until his death in 73 but wrote no songs. Any such stuff on KZread or elsewhere is make believe

    I found your music about a year or two and have been a fan since then. I love how you seem to put so much heart and soul into your songs. I think you are a wonderful artist.     I really appreciate Lucinda's style and songs, she's similar to Bob Dylan, brilliant song writing, even though their voices aren't pitch perfect, they get the feeling in their words across to the listeners. and that is a rarity in music nowadays.

    Bet Johnny Cash did. I know he played in lots of small places in NI in 50s. Maybe even my town though had that happened my dad would have known n told me. But he did play Ballymena about 12 miles away. Used to be a dancehall here.

    Some people can't take a self-assured, confident woman. They call them bitches, sluts, etc. Lucinda Williams is someone today's girls ought to look to for inspiration instead of Miley Cyrus or Kim Kardashian, but they more than likely won't, which is a pity.
