Ғылым және технология
Swiss researchers have come a step closer to building a better artificial heart. It’s a squishy prototype that’s 3D-printed from silicone.

SCIENCE IS AMAZING
I wonder if you could use that as a morbid aquarium airator
This is.... Unsettling
This is gonna be Sooo helpful
Awesome bioengineer
who came from the elastomer video?
thats one giant fckn heart
Why not print the heart out of self healing elastomer?

Gets a new heart you have 30 minutes to live

Wait for the Repomen!
Will it make you feel heavier?
It's weird to see that we never see anything again from concepts like these. As if someone in the government killed the inventor to prevent this concept to be mainstream.
what if you're just chilln and then OH GOD MY HEART HAS COME IN TWO PLEASE HELP ME
Hey Dorothy I think you forgot to give this to tin man!
This is the key to living forever

It's silicone. It doesn't beat.

AMAZING
this is the future
How did you print it?
15+ plus hrs to put in, close everything and it's time to change it 👌🏻
30 minutes? are you serious?
I need that music! What is it??!
Oh boi ill live for 30 extra minutes if im lucky and it doesnt break
If a heart is beating, Who’s alive?

The heart is alive
Well it needs to pump lots of blood
i think we need to focus on the real issues, like building sex robots. now get to work

You're very late into this topic. Ever used google before?
having fewer parts, its also much harder to fix is it not?

At that point i bet these will be manufactured so much that repairing wouldnt be necessary
does it or Can it one day react to stimulants ? running for example.

I mean if the heart is made of materials stronger than a normal heart , it might even outperform
How exactly does silicone 3d printing work?
@Skythedragon
7 жыл бұрын
I know how a 3d printer works, but In my experience they only print plastic
@cxsey8587
7 жыл бұрын
Skythedragon there's other materials, it's literally exactly the same just a different material
@JanTuts

They print the mould, not the part. So they have a hard plastic inner and outer mould, fill the gap with silicone, then break off/out the hard plastic mould.
@Raeffi3

thats surprisingly low tech, if you had the model you could litterally do it yourself with your own 3d printer
@jemen1709

@@JanTuts But how to remove the inner part when its closed? You only can do that if you can remove inner support with water...
whats up with the sims soundtrack
Wow 😯
Why 3-D print one? Seems like a mold would be better.
@poljakov13

3d print is just for a prototyping . mass production would be justified to produce with molds !
@JanTuts

They 3D print the moulds.
Kalimaaaa KALIMAAAAA SHEPTESHAAAAAAAAAAA
Would the body reject a silicone heart?
welp better than a potato i guess
CRANK!!!
Noooope.
its a little too big to be a heart
am i the only one dat think this is scary
It's not 3d printed. The cast for moulding is 3d printed. It's just silicon injected into the mold.
30 minutes, you're serious. Instead of using multiple materials you go with one, genius.
@kendallh3164

its a early prototype what do you expect
@Ryuuken24
6 жыл бұрын
Quality. There has never being a single type of material that can last by itself during constant hard load.
@Bleagle
6 жыл бұрын
It's a very early prototype, probably just to test if the pumping mechanism works at all. Using multiple (better) materials is more expensive and complicated, so they don't do this on their first tries.
@puddypudding9609
6 жыл бұрын
They wanted to use silicone so the hearts are less likely to be rejected
@chatdeblanc
6 жыл бұрын
You got a better idea, genius? Early prototypes are never meant to be as high quality as the real product, dumb dumb.
