A Snowy Tour of Bentonville Arkansas!

Спорт

A Snowy Tour of Bentonville Arkansas! It snowed most of this week, but I decided to ride around downtown and discover my new town, and seek out some fun riding in the process.

    BCPOV put out a video of how Bentonville is the self proclaimed Mtn Bike Capitol of the World, he of course didn't agree and I am sure others do. Regardless, they have done a fantastic job of building a model cycling community. I rode the Razorback Greenway back in 2015 for the first time on my road bike and was absolutely amazed at how courteous drivers were to let me cross even when they had the right of way. Bentonville/NW Arkansas may not be technically the Capitol of Mtn biking, but they doing a great job getting there

  • @CobraKyle

    Yeah I watched his video about it. It boils down to perspective I suppose. He's from Canada and makes a living driving around riding trails. People that live in places like Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas even where it's super flat think this place is incredible. The "Mountain Bike Capital of the World" I imagine is a clever marketing term to get people talking/visiting, and I agree with that title in terms of the amount of trails being built. 2 miles a week on average is pretty wild! If you build it, they will come, and I'm stoked to see what the future holds here!

    @@CobraKyle I just hope there's at least some natural terrain being built in an equal amount. At Turkey Mtn in Tulsa, OK there's a company building flow trails and literally taking some of the technical trails out in the process. If you get a chance, check out the trails at Claremore Lake here in Oklahoma. A guy named Rory and allt of volunteers are doing a great job of building and maintaining the trails. They're even building several jump lines to satisfy the needs of the flow/gravity crowd.

  • @CobraKyle

    @CobraKyle

    @@johnnydoe66 I think outside of Slaughter Pen is where you can find some more natural trails. I certainly prefer natural tech trails over flowy lines, but slaughter pen is just loaded with flow lines. Seems like the back 40, little sugar, and that area is a bit more natural type of riding so I'll have to explore those areas some more. I may venture over to Oklahoma eventually since it's pretty close! Have heard some positive reviews of the riding there!
