A SMASHING restoration work on an old cabinet
This Art Nouveau cabinet was made between 1910-1930. My client restored his house and there was also this piece waiting to be saved. In this video I will do a smashing job to save it :)

A man can NEVER… have enough clamps…. Once again…. Great job 👏!!!
So wonderful to see an old and damaged piece of furniture given a new lease on life!
There may be a hurricane outside, but a 25 min AT Restoration video makes it a good day!

What a handsome old piece! I’ve never seen a wardrobe with a glass insert like that. You did an excellent job as always. It looks as good as new… maybe better than new lol! You’re a miracle worker.🐝🤗❤️
I’m all for that, Restorer Of The Month, Master Pro Of The Year
I think you have hit maximum clampage in this video😂😂😂 Why you haven't gotten clamp sponsors is beyond me, your channel deserves notice for the fantastic work you do!
Ok…that cabinet required major surgery. I did not believe you could repair that warped door but you achieved the impossible yet again. Your new title should be Restoration King 🤴

I always enjoy watching you do your magic on vintage furniture. Takes special skills. Awesome work
Lol! The part when you accidentally broke the wood and did "restorer of the month" was hilarious! Love it! ❤️ You're very handsome too by the way
I watched the entire video! You put a spell on the viewer and make him watch everything! BEAUTIFUL! AMAZING RESTORATION! Thanks so much for sharing
New title "RESTORATION GOD" because you bring pieces back to life. ❤
OMG!)) You literally did "the wardrobe that survived the biblical flood") Love your content and your work. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into both the restorations an the filming process.

My grandfather and his son ,my uncle, were both cabinet makers and carpenters. They both built their own houses and furniture to go in them. God bless the old builders. Back in the 1920's when you had to work with your hands.

Now that is one beautiful cabinet!! I so appreciate your attention to detail!!❤️
I think this is my favorite video of yours so far. I love old oak grain
As for bent doors: about 40 years ago I had finished two sliding doors, app. 1000 x 2400 mm wide. They had, due to the used timber, both a hollow of approximately 20 milimeters. It was summer, so I laid them outdoors on the lawn in the sun with te hollow side on the lawn, the upper side facing the sun. They started bending the other way, and when they had a little hollow in the side facing the sun I took them indoor to even out. Of course the hollow on te backside returned but I gained a few millimeters, so I started over. After 3 or 4 “treatments” they were perfectly flat. When we years later renovated the house and took out the doors, they still were perfectly flat.

The glass insert looks like a Craftsman period detail. Such a handsome piece that has had many adventures. Your restoration is again so perfect and appropriate, so subtle that is a testament to your skill, knowledge and commitment to authentic techniques. I have so much respect for survivors, even furniture, that can reclaim its dignity. Thank you!!
Wonderful work, you practically rebuilt the entire wardrobe.
This is one of my favorite eras of furniture-straightforward, but with a little bit of chic. I’m glad you could save it. You showed us a lot of techniques and tricks and it was very interesting. I could watch your videos all day. 👏 ⭐️
You're work is beyond belief. Great job.
What a gorgeous wardrobe piece. I’ve been looking for years for one like that. Having the drawers n all. The lead glass piece was a awesome touch. Never seen that before. You do such excellent work. I say your a pro! I’m know your customer is going to be thrilled to see her wardrobe looking like she did in 1910. Your AWESOME! Love love your channel. Your the best I’ve seen. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍
Beautiful. Nothing better than rich, warm wood that glows from the perfect care.
No, I'd say, "Restorer of the Century"!!! 😊

Wow....you do amazing work. Your color sense is just mind boggling, every time you get everything to match, seemingly by magic! Maybe instead of Restorer of the Month you should be The Sorcerer of Restoration? (^.^) Thank you so much for posting, you just make the week better! Take care

You deserve restorer of the year! What a fantastic job.
Beautiful piece and beautiful work. Definitely at least restorer of the month!
You are a magician, Sir. Probably a more apt title. Beautiful piece of furniture that you magically gave another life to.
History brought back from 100 years ago. Very nice cabinet. The final end product looks very nice. It is better to end up in your professional hands rather than ending up in the trash.
I'm glad you picked the "hammer" thumbnail even if it got fewer votes in the poll.
I restore pianos for a living . Your restorations are the best. Very enjoyable to watch. Thanks so much.
I am amazed at your knowledge in keeping the integrity of this historic piece of history true to it's time. You are one of the best, thank you for sharing your work.

Always interesting!! Wonderful job!
You are the restorer of the month🏆 Good video, good craftsmanship and good sense of humor. 👍
Absolutely marvelous restoration!!! Bravo!!! I love watching your technique and skills. I can see why you were sad to see this piece go. I would have been sad too. I have learned a lot about restoration and nature of wood and wood working from watching your videos. I truly appreciate precision and attention to detail and you sir, never disappoint! Thank you for sharing your passion and talents with us.
My grandparents bought a house at the beach and everything that no longer fit in the city house ended up at the beach house. A couple of things were two cabinets similar to this one. Both of them were made of wood, and one of them had a mirror on one of the doors that was so old that the upper and sides of the mirror were fading. Many years later, the house was sold with all the furniture. I wish someone would have looked at the cabinets as a treasure. I am glad you were able to restore this one that I am sure will be loved for many years to come and may become a heirloom to the owner's family. Good job as usual. Blessings. 😊
I love watching how you repair and restore furniture pieces to bring them back to service for another hundred years. I am learning from you. Thank you!
Man, the control of your chisel work - awe inspiring.
Hello Ahti, your eye for matching the stain is amazing. I chuckled when you showed the sewing needles, in the sideboard I inherited from my Grandmother I was always finding needles in the drawers. Nice to see the shop and I see that you have many Makita tools. The few times I have had the resources to purchase them they have always performed well beyond other brands.
A beautiful old piece is given new life, beauty, and usefulness. I'd love to make room for it. Thanks!
That went from something that would be thrown out in the UK, to a very high end piece of furniture! Love it.
It looks like, at some time in the past, someone *really* wanted to get that cabinet open. Thanks for showing us such a great job of un-smashing it.
EXCELLENT RESTORATION!!! VERY BEAUTIFUL!!! 💖💖💖💖💖

Oak furniture is like toffee, tough but softens with age. Beautiful finish, well worth saving, that one. The details are really pretty.
A beautiful piece. I've never seen anything like it.
Very nicely done, AT! Another piece of furniture from an almost forgotten era saved from the dump. Your skills are impressive.
wow, what a transformation. You are a Ninja woodworker
What a interesting design, just between the end of Art Noveau and the beginning of modern style. Once more, outstanding restoration! And besides that your good sense of homour is most important in live...
I watched this later but loved the excellent work you did there.
Great work. You are a grandmaster of your art. 😀

Fantastic work, as always. You are brilliant at colour matching (and everything else!) A pleasure and an inspirtation to watch.
