A Skylit Drive (The Original Lineup) ft. Jonny Craig LIVE at the Jordan Blake Memorial Show FULL SET

Музыка

A Skylit Drive: The Original Lineup presents: The Jordan Blake Memorial Concert
Jordan Blake passed away on May 1st, 2023. Jordan was a trail blazer and legend in the scene. From various projects like A Skylit Drive, Watchout! There's Ghosts, Trances, etc. he was constantly looking for avenues to create music in. His passing sent shockwaves through our hearts, and he will never be forgotten.
The Jordan Blake Memorial Concert would be announced shortly after, which featured long-time friend of Jordan's, Jonny Craig, on vocals. Once tickets went on sale, they sold out within two days. Right then and there, I realized that I had to film the entire show for Jordan's close loved ones, and fans to see. Whether it's for those who could not attend, or those who wanted to relive these memories.
The project was very much a collaborative effort, and it wouldn't have happened if I didn't have the support that I did. On that note, I want to personally thank Ayesha Fernandez for filming the show, as well as Omar Garcia for lending his footage to be used for The All-Star Diaries, Hey Nightmare, and According to Columbus. I also want to thank Red Woods for dedicating his time and resources to conceive a piano rendition of "The Past, The Love, The Memory." I want to thank the boys of the ONE AND ONLY, genuine A Skylit Drive; Nick, Joey, Brian, and Cory for giving me the opportunity to film and release this show.
I hope you all enjoy it, and that it honors Jordan in the best way possible. Thank you all so much, see you soon.
REST IN PEACE. JORDAN BLAKE STRIBLING.
1986 - 2023.
ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS.

I remember seeing these guys with jag years back, when they mega sold out. I was so disappointed, because i grew up with the OG ASD. Im from stockton, so im close to these guys, and have seen them live so many times. When i saw jordan was playijg with them again, and i saw they were back to the real ASK, it warmed my heart. RIP jordan. She Watched the Sky is so underrated in its importance to this genre. We need a new generation to trailblaze this genre again!

Agreed. And I don’t give a fuck if Jag tries to sue me, A Skylit Drive is Nick, Brian, Joey, and Cory with Jordan’s passing. I want more people to know what Jag has done, and was strongly considering making a documentary about the whole fiasco, but I really don’t need the legal b.s since Jagmin LOVES to sue people. It is what it is, but I love these guys and will always have their backs, especially when they’re entirely in the right. P.S: For anyone reading this, that supports Jagmin; A Skylit Drive existed YEARS before Jag was in the band. They were a NorCal staple before becoming a national touring band with JORDAN. The only reason Jordan had to depart was due to medical issues, and the band couldn’t afford to take time off, as they had just been signed at that point with only one release (She Watched The Sky). Wires was also entirely recorded instrumentally before Jag joined, and Jonny Craig was a huge part of writing Knights Of The Round. For him to try to take credit for a band he didn’t create is appalling.

Exactly. I’m not worried so much for myself, I’m worried for the OG ASD dudes, because they’ve had legal issues with Jag dating back to 2017. I know he’d sue them and I for the documentary. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll go through with it. There’s A LOT that people have no idea about what Jagmin has done, and if it went public, he’d be public enemy #1.

Idk man, for me it’s hella conflicting cuz I’m a big ASD fan and I love what the band did up to Identity on Fire. (Rise was ok but definitely didn’t feel like ASD) I won’t justify Jag’s actions at all but I won’t deny the awesome albums they did together. Wires Adelphia and Identity on Fire are badass. I of course thank Jordan for making this band while they were in high school and for She watch the Sky, Drown the City is the song that got me into ASD after all. I personally wish there was a way they could peacefully resolve all of this but oh well…

@@thatoneguy2136 I understand that brother, I do. Trust me, I grew up on those albums too. But Wires was already recorded instrumentally before Jag joined, and all of the band members wrote the lyrics after Jordan left. For him to try and take credit for all of those albums is baffling to me. Jags actions have shown that he’s a gross, manipulative, disgusting person, who doesn’t care about the fans or the legacy of the band. He just wants to own the copyright and prevent the CREATORS of ASD from owning it. I appreciate the comment thank you brother.

Hello, thank you for watching and Jordan will always be in our memories forever. Unfortunately, the documentary won’t be able to come to fruition, due to potential legal issues from other parties. I would’ve loved to get the true story out there, but it’s really not my story to tell. It’s theirs. I’ll say this; the core A Skylit Drive members are in this video and Jordan is the heart of ASD. Without them, it’s not A Skylit Drive. Whatever Jag wants to say or do is out of my control, but he’s made a lot of peoples lives a living hell.

@@NOMAD-_- yeah so Jag silently took ownership of the copyright “A Skylit Drive” in 2017, without any of the members consent, therefore he also took all the social media pages with the name A Skylit Drive. He restarted the band after the OG reunion out of spite, and with all random members. It’s crazy how he’s deluded himself into thinking he should own the rights to ASD.

@@troypatrickmccabelol so they had a band for 15 years and never once thought to copyright the name lmao seems dumb on their part. And you act like as if jag wasn't part of the band for 10+ years and released 5 albums. He has as much right to the name. Not Jordan who made one ep and tried to come back and take the name back from jag. That's kinda shitty of them.

@@JarrodF7405first of all, you’re ill-informed. the copyright was dissolved in 2017, and Jagmin trademarked the name SILENTLY without informing the other members after the fact. It’s funny how you don’t know any of these guys including Jag, but you’re so quick to come to Jag’s defense makes me wonder 🤔

As far as I know, Jag and these peeps (the OGs) are not on good terms. Jag has the legal right to ASD which obviously doesn’t sit well with them. The beef is that supposedly the guys seemingly abandoned Jag and he had to manage the whole band by himself, tours paying out royalties and all that. So he says he rightfully deserves the rights to ASD cuz the rest just gave up on it. But on their side they all gave up and left cuz of creative differences and not being happy with the direction the band was going. If you remember Joey was the first one to go post Identity on fire. Then Cory and Brian post Rise. Eventually everyone left. I know this is just my opinion but they’re kinda right. Starting with Rise, it didn’t feel like ASD. If you ask me, ASD is She watched the sky - Identity on Fire Anyway, all of this is supposed drama, as far as I know. No one knows what really went down, Jag’s side says he deserves ASD cuz he put the effort to keep it together, the OGs say he pushed them away, or something like that. I assume Jag obviously lets them play this cuz he doesn’t wanna seem hella scummy especially after Jordan’s passing (just pointing it this out but even when Jordan was alive they played this without any apparent legal opposition from Jag) My opinion? This whole situation sucks. I’m a die hard ASD of both eras Jordan and Jag. Drown the City was the song that made me a fan and I absolutely love Wires… My wish is that they could peacefully resolve this conflict cuz I would love to see Jag, Joey, Brian, Nick, Kyle, and Cory play songs from She Watched the Sky (in Jordan’s memory) thru Identity on Fire. But oh well, one can only dream.

Hi! Thank you so much for the support. Jonny was trying his hardest that night, let me tell you. He had throat problems going into the show and Jordan has a much higher range than Jonny, so the ASD stuff is already challenging for him to sing. The crowd was a welcome voice for sure 🖤

Thought for a moment that Jag might have grown up and returned the band their name, you know considering they lost their vocalist and all, I'd have thought it could be a move he would make in good faith but instead he's still sitting on that name and dwelling in obscurity and toxicity. This is the REAL "a skylit drive", it makes me so sad to see what a massive turd jag turned out to be

First of all, it’s pretty disrespectful to speak ill of someone who’s passed. Secondly, no one is discounting Jag’s contributions to the band. People are criticizing the fact that he highjacked the copyright behind the original members backs, and SUED them for touring under the name that they (Jordan, Nick, Joey, Brian, Kyle, and Cory) created in 2005. He’s now parading around with two random dudes and a kid who’s barely 18 as “A Skylit Drive”. It seems to me and everyone else that Signals (Jag’s project post-ASD) was failing and getting no traction, and he decided to do ASD again because no one gave a shit about Signals and to spite the original members. While Jag was a member of ASD for 10 years and his contributions do matter, his actions over the past 7 years have been unforgivable.
