Loved the movie, thought it would be generic, mediocre, and predictable, but it wasn't. It was very entertaining, the characters were likable, performances were great, the mystery pulled you in, and the ending was very unexpected. The ending was unrealistic, but since the movie already had a comedy theme, it actually worked.

Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick were perfect in this film .... Up until the last 15 minutes which played out like an SNL comedy skit. If not for that ending, this movie should definitely be nominated for an Oscar or Golden Globes Best Actress/Supporting Actress/Screenplay Adaptation.

I totally agree. For as much as I liked this movie and loved its balancing of tones, the scene at the end where Andrew Rannell's character ran over Emily was straight up ridiculous and like something out of a spoof movie. I doubt it will get any awards love, but Blake Lively is legitimately deserving of something. Super underrated actress, who killed it in this movie.

Well, genetically speaking ... Stephanie's incest relationship with her half brother is actually not as bad as sleeping with a half brother from her mother's side or even a 1st cousin from either side. Marrying a half brother or sister from your father's side was actually a frequent occurrence during ancient times when polygamy was widespread and normal. Here's what I learned back in High School Biology 101: Stephanie's father passed on his Y set of chromosomes to his son (Steph's half brother), and the father's mistress (Not Steph's mom) passed on her X set of chromosomes to Steph's half brother as well. Stephanie has the X set of chromosomes from her dad, and a different X set of chromosomes from her biological mom. Therefore, Stephanie's XX chromosomes ARE NOT genetically identical to her half brother's XY chromosomes, because they each got their X chromosomes from different mothers. They had a son together, Miles, who gets his Y chromosome from her half brother, and the X chromosome from Stephanie. If they had a daughter, she would get her X chromosome from Stephanie, and her grandfather's mistress' X chromosome. Both cases would work out just fine genetically. That is, unless Stephanie's dad was sleeping around with his wife's sister, or close cousin.

It was a bloody great movie. All the parts were played perfectly and its hard to loose focus on the movie unlike other thrillers. Well rounded great movie 10/10
I LOVED A Simple Favour, I was not expecting the ending. The only bit that I did not enjoy was when Emily was hit by the car, it just felt like Paul Feig didn’t know where to go from there so was just like “let’s hit her with a car and give Darren another line”

I really loved this movie (even though it has flaws). I loved Anna Kendrick's character - where she is this timid thing, but a lot stronger than people think. I love characters like that. I also thought Blake Lively did a really good job. I loved it when her really hard side (of her character) came out. I didn't consider it a comedy / thriller though. I considered it a thriller that had *some* comic elements / comic relief.
Just saw it this morning on 5th of October. Worth watching. Henry Golding looks so good in the movie. A star was born. Plot is captivating. Mystery and detective stuff. Recommended.
this is "summary" not "ending explained" -_-
I loved this movie it was a total roller coaster but even though the movie was long, I felt like the ending was EXTREMELY RUSHED idkwhy???
I was happily surprised by how good this movie was. Watch it for Blake Lively's performance alone. She is fantastic!!
You can’t watch it from a thriller or detective sort of movie perspective, you’d be so disappointed. But if you watch it as a comedy without much pondering, it’s a fun movie. Btw I’m so Glad that we finally have an Asian star featuring major in a Hollywood movie.
This movie was soooo good. Not what I expected but very good. Must watch!!!🔥

But if you hold someone a gunpoint (or their spouse) and force them to confess to a crime, then isn't that a coerced confession? That evidence would not be admissible in court, and is a violation of basic civil rights.

I didnt like fact that the husband forgets emilie so fast and falls in love with a girl so soon. So just because she is crazy e.th is over ?
I haven't seen the movie but based on this video it would be a good idea if it had ended after Sean was framed and Emily got away. That would be a good plot twist that would make the movie interesting and get viewers talking. I’m glad I didn’t see this movie I had a feeling that something like this would go down. Thanks you did an amazing job.
I gave the movie a solid 7, MAYBE an 8, out of 10. Overall, it’s a great story and I think the 3 leads delivered strong performances, ESPECIALLY Blake. It’s a movie I’d go see again if a friend wanted to go. And as a man, if I could have HALF of Blake’s wardrobe in the film, I’d be one happy camper... My biggest issues with the movie were 1) The pace of the storytelling felt ‘off.’ I feel as if the story coasted along for the better part of the movie but then, someone, somewhere said “Oh shit, we only have 15 more minutes to wrap up all these stories...” which felt especially true when they decided to simply tell you what happened to each of the characters in text...it seemed rushed and personally, I think the climax could have been bigger 2) I watched, rewatched, and watched AGAIN the teaser and trailers for this film because it felt unlike any other story I’d heard before. It felt dark, seductive, erotic, and mysterious...and while I appreciate the subtle comedic moments of the film, I feel the overtly comedic moments took away from the dark undertone of the story which ultimately disappointed me; it’s not easy to make lite of murder and incest but they managed to do it. In short, I didn’t like that the film didn’t know what it’s own genre was *disclaimer, the two leads said repeatedly in interviews that the film didn’t have a specific genre so I wasn’t necessarily surprised by this* 1.5 thumbs up
Very well explained. Thank you!
This move is brilliant! Interesting from the beginning to the end!
I loved the movie, I thought it was great, very entertaining and it exceeded my expectations, I'd excepted some weird cheesy movie but it wasn't. I loved the mystery elements cause they were actually mysterious, I was scratching my head a lot wondering if Emily was really dead, who could've done it, did her husband do it for the $4m insurance, did Stephanie Smothers smother her so she could have her life, her husband and the perfect home, but would Stephanie actually do that? Yeah I was asking myself a whole lot of questions... and I liked comedic elements and I thought they melded together very well. I liked the characters, the two main characters were very interesting and I liked their friendship dynamic and if I'm being quite honest I was hoping Emily got away with it all cause I just loved her character. I mean, she's fucked up of course and her actions are questionable, murdered father, drowned her sister, faked her own death so that she could claim that $4 million insurance, then tried to frame her husband-the list is fucking endless. But Stephanie ain't all that much better, the girl who fucked her half brother and may or may not have had his baby and had an affair with him, then when her best friend goes missing and is found dead she fucks her husband and has a relationship with him... Acca-scuse me? so ummm yeah they're both pretty fucked up, may have done some questionable things and...I still wish Emily got away with it, I was honestly rooting for her and I was kinda bummed by the ending😂 Yeah, she's a cold-blooded murderer, and may be kind of a manipulative sociopath but still something about Anna Kendrick's character kind of irked me, so even though I liked her I found myself rooting for Blake Lively's character more.
I ship Emily and Stephanie so hard.
Loved this movie! It was very funny and a lot of twists
I actually really like it! But, looking back.. if Emily just stayed away, none of this would have happened. So technically, it was all her fault😅

Sarah Paes You obviously missed the entire point. So here, I’ll indulge you.. 1. She incited this because she provoked Stephanie 2. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the whole scheme for her son? Must read now! This was a crazy movie but honestly I loved all the mysteries, the secrets, the creepiness, the wardrobe of Emily, it was really good but confusing but I have to watch it again even though I watch this video, but it did help a lot more since I just finished it.. one thing is: I wanna know if her half brother of Stephanie is the real Father to Stephanie’s son and number 2: (about the jealous husband bc he she’s her like flirty with her brother but first off that didn’t seem like flirting they were playing with the kind but anyways I wanna know if the accident that happened was on purpose because Stephanie’s husband or just an accident because when the scene Stephanie’s and her husband fight about her half brother about being like flirty and stuff. I feel like her husband had a motive to kill him but maybe he kill him self by accident, there is so many questions I want answered but I don’t wanna spoil it if nobody has seen if yet. Also IF ANYONE HAS OTHER weird questions like I did or didn’t understand something.. COMMENT ON THIS POST so we can chat about it, I wanna hear what other people’s theories are! I haven't read the book. I would love to read it soon. I'm guessing that in the book, Blake Lively's character is much darker, destructive, does more crazy things, and murders more people than shown in the movie. I'm also guessing that in the book, her family background is MUCH more deeply religious and extreme: like the Amish, Fundamentalist Mormon, or some kind of cult. The film probably watered down that part in order to please the crowd.

I had not heard this was a book until I started seeing movie pre-views in beginning of Summer. I have read plenty of books & see their movies. I have NEVER seen a movie that was better than a book. I never understand that until the first time I read, then saw the movie. I have even done it the reverse way but, still the "silver screen" usually cant take a great book & make it into a great movie most of the time justice. It cost too much and be so long. Goner w/ the Wind was 4 hrs when first shone. I have heard at least 3 hr was cut from wehat was first put together I'm saying all of this because the book review sucks. I read over 100 reviews & wasn't but 10, 15 tops that said Book was GOOD. And many said the movie looked better and hoped the writers did some changes to improve it. There still were readers that were going to see the movie, about 30-50% said sk. I guessed most of what you said in video except tthat it was a twin (da - don't k is why I didn't think of it. It also Is have to think of a reason her husband didn't know) I assumed it was another relative were most DNA would be ruined.
thanks, I will see the movie
I loved the movie. The ending wasn't quite as satisfying as I would like, but I'm not sure what would have satisfied me more, so...I still liked it and would recommend it. The only thing I didn't like was the "Aviation Gin" product placement. I know Blake's hubby owns the company, but it just kind of took me out of the movie every time I saw it, because I knew why it was there.
I’m more confused ever with this review
have you y any chance git an ending explained to The Little Stranger & Mile 22 please?
Now I wanna see it...
