A Simple 3-Peice Groove after church in Atlanta...

🎯 I'm holding a simple "pocket" on the keys (using "INFINITE CHORDS" throughout the pocket - i demonstrate 18 different chords in 4:19-4:26), allowing the bass to phrase and zone in and out (i recommend you bass players buy IVAN'S "URBAN BASS TECHNIQUES" DVD - gospelbass.com and watch Chapter 4!!!).
In this clip, "J. Troy" does a great job at holding the foundation, but has the ability to throw licks in with a shed-like groove...
The drums were on "Ice"... he can really play, the set just kept running from him...LOL :o)

yeah, we were all "in the pocket" during the main part of the service... we actually read music charts during praise and worship, so we just played "AND1 Street Ball Style" during this after service jam... i wish i recorded the footage from the service; this video doesn't do him justice...just basically having fun, that's all... ;o)

This is very true. Software pianos are far superior to keyboard equivalents. I currently own Synthogy Ivory and Reason 4.0 with the Piano refill pack. Both offer variations of the top acoustic pianos realistically sampled with tons of flexibility. The only keyboards that really compare are the Yamaha Clavinova's or the Roland V Piano. But at the price tag, you'd be better off getting the macbook with piano software.

it's neither the mo6, es or xs model... it's the CLASSIC motif 7 (76 keys)... I don't recommend the ES (the piano sucks in the upper register), and if you're considering the XS (i recommend buying a macbook pro w/ logic software)...You can play live with waaaaay better sounds than any keyboard that comes out or will ever come out. It is a "rat race" trying to keep up with the newest keyboards...

I might have to disagree with you about that because the sound engine in the es is better than the classic. Also for keyboard players who like to stack sounds/patches the classic is a nightmare because the polyphony is only 64 voices whereas the es and up are 128 voices! So u dont have to worry about any cutting out of sounds with stacked performance patches.

Funny, I didn't realize that was you KC until it was almost over. At first I thought, why is he boxing himself in with his playing. Then noticed your bassist is not keeping true to the groove. Kinda makes it hard to venture out if no one is gonna stay in the pocket:). It was a good jam nonetheless!
