@@Erdovanne yes British couldn't pronounce Sohra that's why they pronounce it as Cherra * and the oldest school in Meghalaya that is CP is knows as Cherra Presbyterian because the Britishers couldn't pronounce Sohra .. the Cherra pres was established by the brits ... As I said the tourist started calling Cherrapunjee later while the brits called it Cherra
"Sohra" show how knowledgeable she is with the state of meghalaya 👍🏻❤
Respect to her for calling sohra sohra and not chirapunji
I'm glad the eastern west khasi hill is not yet explored. Not even the local people know much about how beautiful those hills are just like europe but covered by forest and trees.

when you're in EWKH valleys or hills. You are exactly in Highland(Scotland).
Please keep the quite place quite and green place green . Excited that Meghalaya is becoming famous tourist destination in India nowadays but at the same time imagine few years for now what if it becomes like Mumbai , crowded and full of rubbish and people on every corners 😢. Please make sure that you travel with respect and with a knowledge that now that you have found this place , you have a responsibility to keep the quite place quite and green place green . Make sure your visit never loose its magic of NE and especially Meghalaya.

Thank you ❤ Deepak for this lovely treat. Shillong is Scotland of the East-grt. Shillong Chamber Choir, what a privilege!!!!! to see them and listen to them. The lush foliage was resplendent and vibrant and it showed off its flora in full bloom. Exoticness of vistas is breathtaking. You never cease to amaze me. Dear Larissa has done a rigmarole. ❤.

Not just preserving but improving hospitality. Being kinder never cost but it always gives a good return.
There should be episodes which can be shot in this gem of a place Meghalaya. Lot more to explore and lot more to see. Hope NatGeo will be willing to spend some more time here on a more local level which can help the state to boost its tourism.
The last woman she interact with ,her english accent it's so good ❤
Shillong was my home for 4 years. This video hits home😊

That's only east Khasi hills and ri war. Here in eastern west khasi hills we have beautiful hills, beautiful forests, and other landscapes similar to Europe but not yet explored. West and south west Khasi hills also have beautiful landscapes like mawphanlur, wah rilang, nongkhnum, markham valley, etc.
#LarisaDsa u melt my heart when u called #sohra #nongriat #jingkiengjri & #umïam by the local accent ❤❤❤❤God bless you 🙏

National Geographic, please conduct thorough and in-depth research on land degradation and deforestation in the region. It is crucial to document how much of our land has been affected by coal mining and limestone mining activities. Additionally, investigate how much coal is burned every day by large companies, such as cement factories like Star Cement and Dalmia. A visit to the East Jaintia Hills will reveal the full extent of these issues. Go beyond surface-level observations and uncover the truth.
Thankyou for mentioning Sohra not Cherrapunji... And maybe i saw you at Shillong Airport, oh yes i remember... I thought you make a short film... I never thought about this... Thankyou so much.... 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Shoutout to shillong chamber Choir❤😊

So sad that the government is not taking any steps or haven’t find a way in handling traffic Jams in Shillong which is the worst to every shillongites.
This video hasn’t garnered the views it deserve yet. I think the thumbnail is not up to the mark. Nat Geo should display the picture of Larisa and Meghalaya. The current thumbnail is missing both.
Larissa its a Khasi name...
Its funny How mosy Northeast Indians (except the mizos and meitei )dont consider us as NE enough due to our physical features. I found many arunachali to be racist towards khasis sadly . But anyway we dont mind if you dont consider us as NE *enough* we have heen living in this region even way before your ancestors came to this region. We have had alot of well known people in every aspects and we're proud of ourselves. The world is same if you dont consider us Northeast Indian enough *🤣
