In this week’s episode, discover a meticulously designed family home nestled in Serangoon. This 5-room HDB flat spans 1,350 sqft, offering a harmonious blend of functionality and style.
Upon entry, simplicity meets functionality with a bespoke shoe cabinet and a cozy seating area, bathed in sunlight from the adjoining balcony.
Transitioning to the balcony turned music room, a glass sliding door divides the space, while handcrafted wooden frames enhance acoustic quality.
Moving indoors, the living and dining area seamlessly merge, adorned with custom-built furniture and track panel lights, evoking a warm cafe-like atmosphere.
The kitchen, featuring an open-concept design, boasts sintered stone countertops and a practical window opening into the living area.
The master bedroom showcases a platform bed and a cleverly integrated wardrobe, maximizing space and functionality.
For personal spaces, thoughtful designs include a step-up platform and a tatami-style bed in one room, while the other boasts a gaming and work area with an L-shaped table.
This home is a reflection of the family's collective passions and personalities. Each room is carefully curated to meet individual interests while harmoniously blending into the overall design. It serves as a source of inspiration and solace, embodying a space where the family can truly be themselves.

The owner have good taste. Look, Genelec speakers and Herman Miller chair. This is one of the simplest cabinet design that blends in as it is, nothing really protruding. Really like this one!

I like the serenity of this house....but after watching all these videos, I always wonder...where are all the belongings of these home owners? Maybe an extra bottle of shampoo, bags and more bags? These homes feel as if I am moving from one show room to another in IKEA.

Where do they all sit: As someone whose back hurts when on hard surfaces I don't think I could be comfortable in their home. And I noticed no wall decor, I find it to be stark for my taste, but to each their own.

As a “ maximalist “ ; I feel this is minimalism done right . It’s exquisite. I would be able to be here for 13 minutes tops . Where is the history ? Where is the humanity ? Where is the beauty discovered through the “unwanted noise” of chaos ? Ultimately, this seems not merely devoid of humanity ; but , it denies humanity . I find it to be somewhat punishing ; ultimately & endlessly unkind & unforgiving.

Seems that many home reno now look the same - Japanese zen minimalist look.
Interesting home. With respect to the homeowner, I felt that the place lacks warmth and comfort. I would think a musician’s place would be more abstract.
