A scratchy sounding speaker repaired at no cost! An unusual technique..

Instead of replacing a speaker that's gone a bit scratchy sounding - usually from being overworked at some time -you can attempt a repair for virtually no cost.
I have used this method of speaker revival over a great many years and the results can outlast the electronics driving them.

I've got this problem on a stereo sound system. Do you think the solution reduces the volume or changes the sound quality in any way? (thank you!)

Hi Simon. The tissue should only be lightly crumpled so it exerts only a small force on the cone. This does not affect the loudness. You could also try a very light/soft foam piece. remember there are other easons that sound can seem scratchy at low volume, such as crossover distortion.

Nice tip. Wondering if any custom PCBs may help for upcoming repairing work? If so, would love to supply for free and reach any YT collab together. (PCBWay zoey)
