@@allalone1461 I can see what you mean but you gotta understand he has no military experience and he’s a regular civ and compared to the stuff he usually eats you can see why he said it was bad

really liked this one, some people only watch fishing and never know that there are tons of times you go out there and not catch anything. The fun comes from the ride in, almost getting stuck, setting up the site, getting bad MREs, the memories created. Thank you for sharing the experience with us :)

It's also the people you're with! I only fish for sport, but yeah, It's the experience, not the fish you catch! I loved ice fishing with my dad, not because we caught fish (we didn't), but just hanging out and watching Family Guy on my phone in the pop-out hung up on the poles of the pop-out and laughing together. I'll always love that memory.

Dang aint that the truth. Another joy of fishing is being out in nature and enjoying the beauty.

One of the tricks to keeping your MRE from freezing was to carry it inside your shirt while you're moving and until you get where you can use the heater pack. Or at least it wouldn't be an ice cube when you got to where you could eat even if you couldn't use the heater pack. There's also cold weather specific versions, but they're a bit more expensive than the standard MRE.

HAHAHA Jeffrey I laughed out loud reading this. I live in Maine and half our year we have freezing cold and snow. The only way I make it through fall and winter to the warmer days of summer is dreaming about warm places like Florida.

Hey Mav ! If you have trouble in the snow you can lock both your front and rear hubs on your truck! The front wheel have manual locks on the Hubs and the rear auto locks if you pull your 4x4 knob!

@@craigstaul839Prince lived in Chanhassen Minnesota. East of the cities and closest to Minneapolis. This area isn't too different. The Twin cities are seated in south central MN on the Mississippi River. Where Mav is is not all too different. Lots more lakes and way less populated though. Minnesota is truly a winter wonderland. Getting freezing temps just as cold as Anchorage and plenty of snow. Very beautiful nature and wildlife too. My house currently has about 3 feel of standing snow. Lots of hunters and fishers in this state that love the Vikings and hate those darn cheese heads over to the east.

I used to think that till I subscribed to a Alaska based channel, watching the guy and his wife switch off on shoveling 3 ft of snow to make a path to their out house was brutal. Then it switched to them using a little walk behind snow plow and my brain just said NOPE, imagine spraying a garden hose into the wind so that you get hit by a ton of mist but change that mist to snow and that's how it looked, they could barely open their eyes. Witnessing day to day life in Alaska not in a produced for television way revealed to me that an 8 hour work day seems impossible because just maintaining your own home takes hours every day.

The snore moment was the funniest Mav moment I’ve ever seen I laughed hard

We had our MREs freeze on us in Afghanistan. We had to sleep with water bottles in our sleeping bags so we would have water to drink. They would have froze otherwise. I had a similar fishing experience where it just seemed like nothing was going right. We didn't catch any fish, but it still stands as one of my most epic fishing adventures. Keep up the fire content and inspiring so many people. If you can, get your hands on the Beef Goulash MRE. It's pretty good 👍.

I’ve been waiting so long for a new vid, finally 🔥

Jeffrey, I grew up on the south side of Atlanta. I’m old enough to remember when we still had fairly frequent snow at that latitude, and slight ice on lakes,but never enough to support any weight. I’ve camped in snow and temps in the teens in north ga and western NC. Cross country skiied and ice climbed. In my early 50s I moved to the mountains of AZ and ice fished for the first time in my life. It was interesting, but pretty well scared the heck outta me. The ice does a lot of creaking and groaning, and water in the fishing hole rises and falls when you move (ice was only about 8 inches thick). I’ve plowed snow and driven CAT diesel powered snow blowers as long as 34 hours straight with only short breaks for food and restroom because our crew couldn’t keep ahead of the snowfall. Now I’m retired and living back near ATL. I’d do all the AZ winter stuff over in a heartbeat. Everyone here should google “diary of a snow shoveler” and read it. High-Larry-ous and so very true. If you ever get a chance you should give ice fishing a try. It is quite an experience. The whole winter thing in a place that gets snow is quite an experience. I would recommend, however, that you not burn your bridges back to Florida. You just might find that you miss it, especially if you stay in a place that has REAL,BITTER COLD winters.😊

The snow on that road wasn’t anywhere near deep. That was like 8 inches. 4wd is for pansies and only used as a last resort. Dude only had problems cause he let the trailer slide off the road.

Have you tried the pizza MRE yet Mav? Also, a bit of salt added to those MRE heaters can make a world of difference, especially when you get an older one. It might help in a cold climate too?

@@allaboutroofing2 Makes a stronger reaction. There is already salt in the pouch, a little more helps the chemical reaction with the iron and magnesium inside it.

This weekend going to be my first overnight ice fishing in my tent and first time using the eskimo quickfish 3 cannot wait should be great weather up there in Northern mn 👍

MRES “clog” us up rarely do you get diarrhea from MRES. However the water from them water buffalos are a whole different story. Most of the time when you get diarrhea is when you come back from the field and go back to eating “regular” food. Thats when your stomach gets them bubble guts

Looks like y'all had some there, out on the ice, regardless of the fish not biting and the less-than-savory MREs. I've spent seemingly countless field exercises with my Naval Reserve unit in Fort Hunter-Liggett, California, and can truthfully attest to the fact that they have improved the quality of the MREs, but there still remains the problem of improving the quality of of the rice! Keep on keeping on dude!

Ohhh man just listening too two buddies lose it and just cackle like a couple of Hens over some crappy food is just awesome 😂
