Keeping it as secret is fine. But lying that he did not have a gf back in those times was not right. It would be ok if he kept silent about that subject instead of telling a lie. I don't trust him all the time. Remember girlfriend application thing? ... meh.

+theeachuisge ah, you're one of those people that think you're entitled to people's personal life. The reason why he likely lied was because of how obsessed fangirls get (after all Jess's youtube channel is no more because of the amount of hate that she got) Also, we don't know how long Mark and Jess dated, he could have been single when he said he was. And girlfriend application was a joke. If you don't get that you're pathetic.

I don't f*cking understand why people say this. No, we are not crying or seeking for attention. Depression is a serious illness in which I have. It not only hurts me, it hurts others also which bounces off to me. And when you think about it, with depression, everything bounces back to you, no matter what. Every time I cut a blade into my skin I'm not only hurting myself but I'm also hurting others, which hurts me EVEN more. I wish people could understand that pain. The only time when I feel like I have reasons to live is when I watch videos like this from mark. Mark, I 100% agree with you that people should understand this is a serious illness.

I see Markiplier as the best youtube gamer out of all, mainly because how real he can be. Even though it affects his productivity, he would rather call a sick day than gives us a sad pile of shit for a video. His interaction with his growing fanbase is a rare and enjoyable thing to see, and he definitely has my highest youtube respect I can give. He occasionally will play advertisement games, but still stays true to what his community wants to play and not what any company with large numbers wants. Take us to the top, Mark, and keep going bud.

Does anyone just get really emotional when Mark makes these kinds of videos? It makes me so...happy-for lack of a better description-to see such an internet famous individual just genuinely care for people in general. It's not easy to find these days. Everyone's so caught up with the little things in their life that they sometimes forget to take a step back and take a look at the bigger picture. It's just...really nice. And since I can't do much but thank you, I'll do that. Thanks for being there for us and making us smile when we just needed some type of relief, Mark. You give us free entertainment and in turn, we haven't really done much in proportion to what you've done for us. So yeah. Thank you so much. We really appreciate it.

Also I'm sure this doesn't mean much and sounds a bit Cliche but, try to be happy and when you feel sad grit your teeth and move on believe me i don't have bipolar but I am deeply depressed and I try to be light in my own darkness because it consumed me once to the point where if I walked about a hundred more down a path I could've jumped off a bridge... but I didn't I went back home moved on but now I'm fighting to stay happy lately but I'm waiting for something to happen that'll pull me out of my endless void...I hope you see this but you probably won't so I don't know try to stay happy....

I'm glad you saw it i didn't really want to say this but considering you have I might as well, so this happened about a few months ago I took about 20 pills at once and I waited about five minutes I read the label to see what would happen but i read that even if I died I would've died in pain and I'm not going to do something i regret...I would've bled from the inside... But I have really good gag reflects so I haven't thrown up in about 3 years but I had a moment and changed my mind I made myself vomit... To this day I still occasionally want to but i need to be there for someone you might not see it but someone out there cares and hasn't told you yet... My only purpose that I see is to make friends and give'em good time for about year you know? Just sitting around and making jokes... Then lose them... Anyway, I um...I still move on if I'm not friends with them anymore then I leave them alone... Because I don't want remember how I keep feeling like a piece me broke off so I repair myself because that's what I do...I repair myself and don't let myself fall apart because I'm not giving up...I told myself I wouldn't, so now I'm running on hope and slowly changing different parts of me to see what I like and want... I'm getting better but I've learned not to stay happy... Mostly just to not let myself be broken as much as I'm used to. Don't give up but reminisce in the bad so you feel better when good things happen it might seem counterproductive but knowing your not going to end it is maddening but also it helps to know that no matter how bad it gets things do get better if nothing is happening because it means nothing bad is happening any more...

Nuked Illusion I've attempted before to. only I did something different. I tried to jump off a bridge. it didnt work but I'm kinda glad it didn't. then I wouldn't be here getting by ok. what I tell others is when life gets you down think about how great your life has been. think about the positives. then get the nasty thoughts out. they can and will destroy you sooner or later. or you can win. people care. they always will and just think someone is either in your spot or has been. your not alone. never think suicide is the answer. it may end the pain for you but it will just pass it on to others. keep fighting. you can win. you will win.

I think about the pain... Because for some reason it drives nothing will ever stop me... Bullying doesn't hurt but the truth does... Sometimes I think what it would be like if tried drugs... But I'm afraid I'll like it, because I'm happy I'm afraid I'll want to stay that way... Three people have offered I always said NO. I'm not going to be happy from something that the core of me didn't produce or something someone didn't do on natural instinct... The pain drives me to keep going... Also let me say you most likely regretted it when jumped off right after didn't you? If you did good hold that thought and keep it first in your mind remember it and never let it go because it's the reason you're still here...

Mark, everyone has good and bad days. I've been battling depression and anxiety since I was 16. I've been on high dosages of meds but made the choice a couple years ago to stop the meds and try and figure things out on my own. There are days, even weeks where I feel like I'm at rock bottom but I always seem to find a way to pull myself out of it. It's a long battle and I can't said that I've made great leaps and bounds but I'm working day by day to make myself better and help me cope. Give yourself a hug. We all love you

My mother has type 2 bipolar disorder that she didn't know she had until she was 40. The stress caused her to weigh under 100 Ibs. Now she's seeing a therapist, is being treated, is at a healthy weight, and is the happiest I've ever seen her. Those who say this disorder does not exist have not lived with someone with the condition nor seen the wonderful change when they are diagnosed and treated. Thank you for doing this, Mark. Depression is a real thing, I don't understand why people say it's not real or it's just craving attention. You wouldn't say "oh it's just cancer, get over it." why should that be said about depression. I know they aren't the same, but people have to live with it their whole life, just like cancer patients have to live with it their whole life. Depression, basically, makes you feel worthless, like you are drowning and you can't swim to pull yourself out, like you're breathing, but not living. And yea, sometimes people who deal with depression just need that one person they can go to to make them smile or laugh to pull them through the day and say there is something to live for. And Mark is that to those people. And I can personally say that I am so proud and happy that Mark can be that to those people and he is always there for us, because he is a great person that does things for others, without asking for anything in return. And we need more people like Mark in this world.

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and it got bad, to the point where I overdosed on my psych meds. I had to spend two weeks in a mental ward and another two weeks in partial therapy. Trust me me when I say, I understand bad days. I have days where I don't want to eat or do anything. You do NOT want to get to that point, ever. It feels like being trapped in a box.

Mark - please take a week off. Pre-record some videos to post if it really matters, but please take a week off. Go on holiday, go see your family, just get away for a bit. Do stuff you don't get to do very often. Get some proper sleep. Play games that YOU want to play, not that you've been told to play. There's only a certain amount of optimism you can have, and I think we can all see that having a tough week on top of your normal life is affecting you. Look at all these supportive messages. We care about you, not just your videos. We'll understand. Please do what's right for you.

I know what it's like to lose someone. I lost both my parents to drugs when I was 3, and I've been in a mental hospital twice for trying to commit suicide and I know how depression feels. You've cheered me up throughout the years watching you and I've wanted to die at times so badly. Even throughout all of the bullying and hatred spit at me, you're one of the people who help me smile. These emotional videos get me and the one titled "this needs to be said", I cried so hard. I don't always see a point in living at times but it may be pathetic feeling like life is more than depression from watching a KZread channel. It does show a difference. You may not read this or not many other people but I'm only 14, and I truly thank you Mark for brightening up my life. Please stay strong. ❤️

There is more to life than depression. There is joy. When you're in pain, keep this in mind, the bullies are all just insecure idiots. If they have to make someone else feel bad just to make themselves feel good there is something inherently wrong with them. They're going to end up living painfully average lives getting kicked around by their bosses, but you won't know. Your life will be better, you'll have severed ties to them, and you'll have friends who care about you.

Oh, I'm sorry Mark! :( I know that must've been really tough for you. I hope you feel better soon^^ You aren't alone! We've all known what it's like to have terrible days like you did yesterday. By "we", I mean your subs. We all appreciate what you do, and the subscribers that truly care will respect the fact that you can't always be perfect and upload on schedule every time. Just know that we're always here for you, whether you realize it or not at times. You make us all laugh, cry, and hide under the blankets, and for that, I speak for all of us when I say thank you. Seriously. Thanks for all of the time and effort you have put into your vids to put a smile on our faces in our darkest hours. So we can make an easy exception for the one time that you can't upload a video because of a personal loss of yours. We know that you aren't perfect. And we don't expect you to be. Because you're Markiplier. And you're awesome. Not being perfect is what we like about you and each other. Anyway, I'm sure you have more important things to do than read this comment, if you ever do in the first place. But just remember: We are also your family.

You have survived everything life has ever thrown at you in, truly, the most spectacular of ways. You are alive against many odds, and have risen above many standards. Mark, my mom was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder as well as depression. A year, she almost died due to an appendicitis complication. Ever since then, she's been so depressed that she hardly moved; she just sat in one spot for so long that she literally lost nearly all the muscles in her arms and legs. She couldn't stand or hold things, and whenever she wanted to get somewhere, even to the bathroom, my dad or I would have to carry her. Right now, she's in a psychiatric hospital and receiving physical therapy, and is on the road to recovery. But as you can probably imagine, that's all been really stressful for me, and I've been struggling with depression and anxiety of my own during all of this. But your (and the Game Grumps') videos always manage to put a smile on my face when I most need it. I can't tell you how thankful I am for all of this; for working hard on these videos and for doing livestreams for charities like this. Thank you so much. And hey, don't worry about not getting another video out. Life happens. I hope things get better for you soon, Mark. Best wishes!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and devotion to bipolar and depression. Those of us living with it thank you. I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression when I was 12 and after 15, when my father died, I was diagnosed with bipolar. It took me 15 years of drug abuse, self-medication and self destruction, three suicide attempts and countless bouts of self-sabotage to finally come to the conclusion that I needed help. It's a long road, but I'm glad that the medical community has taken this issue more seriously and that there's a deeper understanding of it.

Mark, just promise all of us that you will never forget this quote. Because it, in my opinion, is a quote that truly marks the truth as to why people consider you as a "beacon of hope" for those with depression: "No matter what happens. No matter how hard thing get. No matter who tries to bring you down; Never stop believing in yourself." -Mark Fishbach, 2013 Never stop believing in yourself. THAT particular quote that you said so long ago is what kept me from disconnecting myself from everything. So thank YOU Markiplier, for being who you are and for helping me leave that dark hell that existed in my life.

I will try not to rant to much but; Mark. You should never feel the need at all, ever, to appologise for not making "your quota" of videos every single goddamn day of the year. Especially not when you've had a rough day. Because that's just what you do; make awesome content almost every single goddamn day of the year! What you do and share is what help so many of us getting through our rough days, me included. I've had rough periods for about six years now and the last halfyear the periods have turned into days. As in almost nonstop rough days. Mainly because I didn't allow myself to vent, pushed myself too far and sucked it all up so to speak. Yesterday I finally found the courage/could be arsed/had the respect for my family and girlfriend (whichever reason or description one might like) and did something about it. Turnes up I am depressed and have serious anxiety, and need to adress and do something about this quickly, before I make more of a mess of myself and my relationship with my close ones. I dunno really where I'm going with this except I want you to feel that you never need to appologise for the things you mention in the video. Sure, if you feel you want to _explain_ the situation, that's just respectful against us viewers, but always allow yourself to have rough days. Thank YOU for the playlist, it's gonna be fun to rewatch some stuff from the early days. I'm sure this will cheer me up from a day spent supressing the urge to tell my surroundings to go fuck themselves. And I really hope I have the time to watch your livestream, because seing you play old SNES (or Famicom as you call it) classics is something I've been looking forward to alot! Keep it up mate, you are simply awesome.

Maybe Mark wont reply, or even read, what you wrote, but I have and will. It took me almost a year to accept that I had a problem and actually seek help for it. So don't feel bad about that, my tip is to keep letting Marks videos making your days better and when you finally feel like accepting the situation and do something about it; talk to a doctor or psycologist. Just get your thumb out of the famous place and just do it. That step alone will boost your self esteem and make everything feel sooo much easier. speaking from own experience =) For what its worth from a random stranger on the internet; Please just make sure you actually take that step before the depression/anxiety you feel have caused to much damage to you and/or your surroundings. I know its hard, its really horribly hard, but it so worth it and gives so much in return. Take care, Mayaizzy.

I'm so happy you benefitted a charity supporting people with mental illness. People don't talk about it; there's such a sigma, which fucking SUCKS because when I'm in a depressive episode or I'm manic off my ass, I kind of want to be able to tell my friends that without them treating me differently or dropping me altogether. So thank you for being a cool guy that talks about mental illness and mentally ill people with respect and kindness and just generally making people happy. It means a lot to me as someone with bipolar and OCD. You rock.

Mark, You make myself and so many other people extremely happy everyday. And yes it is because you are fun and crazy and enjoy life but it is times like this that you let us into your life. You make us feel like we are worth more then just a number behind your account. And that is why we love you so damn much. We love you just for being you. All of the crazy and emotional and just plain "mark-isms" that make you YOU. I personally have been suffering with depression and anxiety for a coming of 10 years now. Being a 23 year old woman in the marine science field it is hard to feel like there is much light in the world. As cliche as that sounds. But I get told on the daily that I am just a woman, what can I do. Or that I am not a grown woman why cant I "just grow out of it"-in referance to depression and anxiety. But you, you brighten up every one of my days. Life may be hard, but please know that you do matter to the little people like me in the world who see you as one of their closest friends even tho we have never met. And in refrence to your friend, I am so very sorry. Saying goodbye to anyone is hard but in the end the world will be ohkay. Just please know that we love and support you through whatever hard ships are happening right now. It may not be much, but I hope it is enough for you to see just a shimmer of the light you give me each day. So thank you mark for being the bestest friend ive never met and just remember: take a breath, close your eyes, and remember that even in the darkest night there is still light hidden, you just have to find it. Love, Ally

It can be a bit hard at times but just look at the bright side of everything, you have 6 million and over supporting you for your Livestream for Charity. You know you're doing something right when you show your feels so well that others have been touched in the feels as well. It's great to see ppl like you (Mark) because you are one of the greatest gamers I've seen. Not because you're good at games, but rather that games aren't the only thing you do. I love when you do something like this to show us that sitting in front of a screen isn't the only thing you and I and many others do. Charities, sketches, conventions, and so much more show how real a gamer is. And I wish I could meet you, but it'll probably be a while, but I can tell you and I would get along well. Believe it or not I actually touch my own feels just thinking of this again, and you're one of the only ppl I'd share this with. Thxs to you, and you're welcome for the support that I and many MANY others have given you. Good luck on the road to 10 million.

It doesn't matter if people have real depression or not. In my opinion depression is something you do not want. Growing up in my family was rough. By the age of ten my parents realized I was in a deeper sadness. I wouldn't eat, had lack of sleep, wouldn't take care of myself, and so they took me to the doctors where they told me I was severely depressed. An over a period of time it grew worse. But my family was poor when we had found out about my depression and Thanks to a charity I was able to get help for it. Now my depression has not gone away but when I found youtubers things got slightly more enjoyable. Then I met my long distance boyfriend, I started getting better. I hope everyone in this comment section understands that depression is not a choice. It isn't something to laugh at and it most certainly isn't something you want. Depression corrupts your head into believing things that aren't meant to be dwelled on. It's a darker type of sadness. It can last for a very long time and the effects can be very bad. Many people who have depression would know that feeling so worthless and alone sucks, dont say you have it for the attention of others. It isn't something to lie about because people can take their lives due to depression. To anyone to has it, I am so very sorry. I hope things get better for you so you have a chance of breaking free from the coat of sadness. The Markiplier Community loves you.

Markiplier hugs you tight [no homo, shh] i know this comment is one in a thousand and you most likely wont see it, but you are simply amazing, ive been with you since close to 1 million subscribers i believe, [that was way back when o.o, since i was 10 pretty much] and i know you get comments like this every day and that it wont be much like anyone else's but ive practically grew up on your videos, i love them, absolutely love them, i cant find a single video i haven't watched, its alright that you have bad days, we all do, no need to apologize or feel bad for the inability of uploading your personal requirement of 2 videos a day, its perfectly alright, i really hope you get better soon, you are simply amazing, just to think how much time it takes to record, edit, and upload videos baffles me, and i done know how you do it, to think probably an hours worth of recording a video, little over half edited out within 2 hours, and the fact you have to leave your computer on just to upload the videos overnight is insane, as a couple other's said, you should take some time off, try and fly bob and wade in and go out with your friends and just have fun, i, and everyone else in your fan base love to see you smile and have fun, and i think i speak for most of us when i say this, but you mean a ton to us, and your happiness is key to our own, some of us watch your videos for comic relief, some just to relax, some to bring themselves out of the dumps and have them smile again, [i do it for all] but most of us just do it just to watch our favorite youtuber :) get better soon mark, you mean a lot to a lot of people *^*^*^* Fellow commenters if you could like this so mark could see it i would greatly appreciate it :) *^*^*^*

Mark, we really don't mind that you only could put up one gaming video today. Take as much time to recover as you need... we really don't mind. I wonder if Mark means "say goodbye" as in someone had to move away from him or if someone close to him actually died... if it's the latter then I'm so, so sorry Mark. The funny thing is, I started playing a game recently that I played back when I was a kid. Well... I'm only 15 and a half so it was about 8 years ago, but it I still consider myself not to really be a little kid anymore. There's a large difference between being a teenager and being a young child, in my opinion. Anyway, it's really nice to relive the feelings you had as a kid with a videogame. The excitement, the joy, the wonder. I myself am playing Hitman 2, as it was a memorable part of my childhood and a big highlight. I never managed to play console games like Mario and Zelda sadly, so I played PC games instead. Lol But yeah... far too many people don't believe that mental illnesses like depression are a very real thing. I myself realized recently that I probably have a mental depression of sorts and it kind of freaked me out. It just makes it sound way too important to me, to say that I have mental depression. I do hope that in the near future more people can become aware of how real depression and other mental illnesses are, and don't just think all of those affected by it are whining crybabies that are simply looking for attention. Some probably do, but many don't. I'll most certainly be watching the livestream, if I can remember. I'll also probably check out that playlist soon, I need some cheering up and you've prescribed me the perfect medicine. :P To finish this up, I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say that we all hope you feel better soon Mark and we wish you the best! Keep being awesome...

It also helps to watch Wade, and Jack, etc. Back when you played Neverending Nightmares (a game that was actually very close to the nightmares/hallucinations I experienced on a regular basis before getting on meds a few months later) I left a long comment about the message you left at the end. I'm very grateful that everyone like me, and everyone not suffering an illness, has you and your videos. You really care and we really appreciate it. *Mental illnesses are real. Hi Mark, just found your channel and I have to say I immediately became a fan. You sound like an amazing person and it's great that you are really trying to help those that reach out to you and helping a cause like this. Seeing friends deal with depression and similar issues is hard and seeing people helping always lifts my spirit. Keep up the good work

I hate when people say others with depression and bipolar disorder is crying out for attention. Like that is so freaking idiotic. Some people are having such a hard time with life and they feel not cared about, they don't think they're important and it truly is a sad thing so when an idiot says on they just want attention it makes me so mad. I talked to so many people with depression and bipolar disorder and it's just sad man. I try my best to make those people feel better. I have an instagram that's dedicated to attempting to make those people feel good about themselves. Like it's not a joke. Its a serious situation.

I agree with you. But, with the growing number of trolls on social media and comments, it's hard to tell if the person behind the comment is snickering to themself at all of the people who thought they were helping someone out.

I agree with Kendrick completely! I am so glad that there are other people who don't ridicule others for bipolar disorder or depression (being a victim of depression myself, and yes I have been therapeutically diagnosed with it, basically meaning my former therapist thought I was, and was right) but instead try to help in any way they can!

Right Ian, sensitive topics like that should definitely be taken seriously, and not be met by the ridicule it is usually met by. By the way, good luck with the depression issue, buddy

Thank YOU for all that you do. For your videos, for being yourself and for not forcing yourself to plaster on a smile. I battle heavily with depression, high anxiety and a few other medical conditions and you have made such a huge, positive impact on my life. Some things have just recently happened in my life concerning my mom and when everything felt impossible, your videos were here. This made me smile as well as cry (in a good way). You are a person who keeps me going. When I feel like taking the bad way out I remember that I can't because you, along with some other youtuber's, are on my bucket list to meet. And even if I got the magical chance to meet you it would still fuel me on to live because I want to help support you in any way that I can even though it is such a small way for me to say thank you for all that you do, not just for me, but millions of others. Thank You Markiplier Don't forget to look out for your own happiness as well. I/We support you. :)

Markiplier, Like the other youtubers I watch; Jack, PewdiePie, Ken, Minx, Cry, Yamimash, your videos somehow make me feel a bit happier every day. I've struggled with depression, and it's still an uphill battle, despite the barriers I have knocked down. You make me laugh, you make me smile, (sometimes cry) you give me something to do when I have nothing else. The only things I do are sleep, go to my classes, and do whatever on my computer. I don't hang out with people because I honestly don't have the motivation to unless I'm home visiting from campus. This may get lost among the countless other comments, but I still just want to say Thank you.

This video really touched me. I also lost a friend this week and like yourself I found it very difficult to paint a smile on my face. A lot of your fans were so supportive to me and on that day a lot were horrible and said it was a cry for attention but I don't care what they think. We need to learn to support people and to stop using the internet as an excuse to bring others down. Thank you for this video Mark. It really helps us connect with each other!

very true my friend, your friends and fans support you, the trolls and haters are not worth listening too. loss comes to us all and its the time for friends. hate is easy, kindness is also easy, commenters really need to spend less time hating and more time actually listening, understanding and supporting, if people feel they cannot or will not then they need not say anything. hate is pointless and gains nothing, kindness benifits many. your a good friend suzy and you always have my support, help eachother my friends, it is a great feeling :)

This is why you are the best youtuber. It's not because of what content you make, it's not because of how funny you are, or how not funny you are, it's because of what you say, and what kind of connection you have with your fan base. The way that you make these videos, the way that you genuinely talk about how happy you are that your fans made your life like this, the way that you actually mean it. It's just amazing that there are youtubers like these, even though it's quite rare to see.
