"No rosewood was harmed in the making of this instrument.."! Great sense of humour, as always, and great sense of realism. I'm a bit concerned at people calling you a cheapskate, and the guitars featured as firewood. The channel is based on reviewing budget, or value, guitars, and always has been, so for you to be fielding such comments is unfair and downright outrageous. Even going back to your (broken) Epiphone Flying V/Explorer, videos, where you criticise the company for their pricing, wasn't that a rather large clue as to the channel's main focus. Don't pay any attention to these naysayers - we watch because you review the gear without fear or favour (mostly), and with a sense of humour and realism, returning to my original point. Keep on keeping on!
While some may complain, I think a majority of your fans like the very low cost guitar reviews. I believe that there are a lot of players and aspiring players who would like to expand their horizons but would struggle to afford a $400+ guitar. Thanks as always.
Wow, the fact that the guitar actually works for that price is amazing. Guitars have come really far

CNC, and china CAN make great gear, just ask them to tighten quality. Its why I laugh at people that will only buy UK made celestions. Would love to support my own country, but everyone is too busy tripping everyone else on a downward spiral than trying to raise all boats.
Best guitar review channel
Yeah, that Prince video is amazing and I was always more a George Harrison fan than John or Paul through my life. The price of a standard model by Gibson or Fender is just insane and I love the fact you show these types of models as they just get better in quality each passing year.
@18:45 we both flinched at exactly the same time. I 've tried cheaper guitars that get T-style neck sound way better than that, I'm really working hard not to do youtube style tirade here. To keep it short ; that neck pickup made me sad, can't pick out any likeable characteristics beyond it being functional. Eastcoast are still winning the budget market for me, and I'd just like to thank you for doing a series on guitars more people can actually go and buy. You're serving a bigger community by covering this area and I appreciate it a lot.
Be interesting to see the shoot out between the low price T styles goes in a few weeks
Budget price guitars are fantastic these days, a great time for buying your first guitar, not like back in the day !! 😜

I'm in the US and I would buy 1 in a heartbeat maybe even 2!!
That rosewood tele that Fender gave Mr. Harrison was a very HEAVY guitar...in weight as well😉 The body was sandwiched construction. Looks and sounds like PMT has a fun guitar there.😎👍 Looks good on you Colin 👍👍 Great jam WMGGW...😃 Thanks George ❤👍 And you Colin for another great video 😎👍👍 😎✌👍❤🖖 Love Brother
Good one! I love that there are so many decent affordable alternatives to the big brands out there. Feature whatever you want, Col. I'll keep tuning in. I'd watch you review tea kettles, as your personality and style is so accessible and engaging. Also, the lighting and video quality is among the best here on YT. Cheers!
Love these cheaper priced guitars reviews

Thanks so much for posting this video. I'm always very appreciative of your great videos and look forward to them each week!
Ascetically it’s a pretty tele 🤔 Pick ups seem to have a fuller tone compared to The Harley Benton to my ear, however my Te62 db arrived from Thoman this week, sounds great and has a flawless neck and finish and it’s unreal value at £145 delivered! Defo gonna mod it 👍and the best bit is it’s half a stone lighter than the Te52 I bought last year 😂 I’m still keeping it for my headstone tho 😂😂😂 cheers Col 🍻
Thank you for your honest review ! Greatly appreciated !
How can a friday get any better? With an upload from The old wise man himself ofcourse! This is gonna be lovely, gonna grab myself a cup of hot choccy milk and get cosy. And by the gods, I'm anxiously waiting for the Maybach review (the Albatroz).
That's probably the closest I've seen any of these yet to an actual Fender all rosewood T. Now I'm gonna gets back to the show.
Got my beer and snacks! Loving the gently weeps jam at 20:00 ish! Great work as usual Col! Always inspired to pick up the guitar after watching these!
Another great review thanks Colin ! Oh that video with prince just wow
I enjoyed this one, already got a lovely tele but as I’ve said before there’s no better time to learn than now with the quality of these affordable guitars
Grooving along nicely there Colin!
The thing you were saying about the big boys watching their prices is spot on. Gibson is doing their best to move Epiphone into the $1000-2000 range. As long as they all have Gibson parts and electronics I don't care, but I dunno that I'm daft enough to believe that'll happen. Cheers, homie!
Another great Guitar review, Colin ! Sounds amazing for the money.
Excellent playing Colin. I think the guitar looks beautiful and if it can be made to sound that good then it's a wonderful value for money. A parent could buy their kid this guitar and then play it when they're off to school. 😊 Have a great weekend Colin!
the body is lovely 179 quid throw in a decent pots and switches grab some new pups from Tonerider job done 100 quid plus investment bang a cracking guitar that's what these guitars for the most part do give you a tremendous modding base
You can hear the inspiration you got from this guitar in your playing - sounded great! Love the affordable guitar reviews as well as the more premium ones. Going to check out that PMT Firebird... (Just a cuppa for this one, no snacks to be found!)
Been looking forward to this one - Harrison on a budget! 👍
Colin, great video, as usual. That looks like a really good budget option and a great mod platform. I watched it while I set up a second hand Martin D15m that just arrived yesterday!
That one is a beauty! Dude, you have to get the SG!!! Thanks for another great video
A cheap guitar these days isn't a bad guitar, it's an inexpensive guitar that's fine for a lot of players. Amazing what u can get now.
That is great guitar for the price Colin. Very well made. With pots and pickups upgrade that guitar could be even better than the Squire guitars which cost way more.
It looks good and the price is right, but what really gets me is that it actually sounds good. It's a very 'vintage' sound, but then surely if one is buying a 'rosewood' tele, then that's probably what one wants anyway. I wonder where my nearest pmt is lol - need to try before I buy 'cos the feel of the neck is the all important thing, and what floats one guys boat might sink mine. Good one Colin !

Agreed. For me it’s all about the necks.
Looks great and for they are charging seem really good value. Seems like almost monthly a new brand is out making good copies of the well known stuff. PMT are a pretty good business, have bought from them a few times online and visited their shops, always great service. Thing is at this price you can get one and mod the hell out of it, paint it put stickers on it, even gig with it without the worry of devaluing. great vid Collin! Like your playing too mate! Cheers.
Another great review. I think this particular TELE sounds amazing. Thicker than the norm, but very rich and musically pleasing.
Good day, Colin. You've got many subscribers in the colonies also. 🇨🇦 🇦🇺 new 🇳🇿

Yes I know and I apologise for not mentioning you more often… I do realise the world extends beyond UK and USA! 😆🤷♂️ appreciate your support man! 😎🙏
Enjoyed the review, and your playing in the demo! I had thought about a Harley Benton as a budget guitar, maybe to mod, but had been put off because of problems and cost of importing. This seems like a better alternative. I hope to see more similar reviews!
I've purchased the Antiquity Les Paul lemon burst, the Firebird and the Jazz master from PMT, all have been excellent and needed very little set-up out the box, comparable with the better Harley Benton and Vintage brand guitars, really happy with them
The bluest weeping blues...nicely done, Colin.
I like the modern bridge and intonation blocks. It is a great guitar for the money. Nice job, as always..
I recently got back in to playing after a 30 year break, I'm not good, I can play some chords, learning picking etc. I've always loved the Tele style, and seeing as I had a Tanglewood Strat copy already that I took out of storage which doesn't play all that well, I bought a Squier Tele (in butterscotch blonde) for under £150. It's made me fall in love with playing again, and didn't cost the earth. I have a feeling I'll be buying more "budget" guitars now :D I do love the look of that Fauxwood TL1, I think it would go nicely next to the Squier :D
Colin, brilliant. The guitar looks like a candidate for modding and then comparing with more expensive equivalents. I would be interested to see you review some of the other guitars in the Antiquity range.
We in the U.S. may not be able to get them...but Colin can...and send them out to us.
WOW, cleaner body routs than some G brand guitars. Nice review, great job as always.
Another great vid Colin, you've got me interested in their LP jnr double cut. £159. Is this the age of the budget guitar? I agree that the big brands have to be careful with their pricing now. Have a good one, thanks for posting.
Absolutely love watching you

Love your show Colin. I saw you had a Watkins Rapier 33 in your collection that you were going to restore one day. What about a review of the new reissue 33 and maybe compare to your restoration? Keep up the great content.
Good Vibez Colin ❤💯💥💜🤍💙💛
Nice review mate big fan from 🇦🇺 🤘
Love this! It's a good thing it's not all rosewood because it would probably weigh 12 lbs. IVY sells some nice budget guitars in the U.S. on Amazon. They are made in Vietnam. Allinoneguitars sells the AIO / Wolf brand in the States and I believe those are made in the same factory. They have some nice Tele's, with Abalone inlays and different pickup configurations. All around $500 U.S. Well made. And they ask your setup preference before shipping. They also have other models as well. The budget guitar market certainly has come a long way.
0:27 it’s funny that your intro is playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps because i was gonna put up a quiz on the best solos ever played on a Tele. I’d just watched for the umpteenth time the Jeff Lynne, Prince, Winwood and Petty et al cover of that and Prince’s solo at the end is surely the best ? And remembered I hadn’t watched this video of yours yet. Anyway? Opinions below and I’ll watch the rest of this one Cheers bro 😎🎸🤘
nice one mt, loved the vid ,while my axe gently weeps.
When you finish the cheap t would be good to see you upgrade your fav with some reasonably price upgrades see if you can make a great t
Greetings from Detroit. "Sounded alright, yes?"....yes Sir - Sounded better than alright! Great review - That things a banger for the price!
I have a guitarist mate that knows Danny Harrison, and got to play some of his dad's guitars, including the actual rosewood Tele, at George's home. Said it was rather humbling playing such iconic instruments.

I saw the Antiquity Explorer in PMT Romford and have to say he did look good
Really like the look of this guitar
Thanks for looking at these affordable models. Some of us are cool with playing the budget versions of our favorites. Allows for more money for future gas without having to sell a limb! 😂🎸
Hiya mate, my mate won one of the from PMT about a year ago. Really good all round guitar. Only thing is. I’d say revisit the guitar if you still have it in about 6 months… At some point the fingerboard shrank and it got quite bad fret sprout all over the neck - presumably because it’s budget the wood doesn’t get given the same amount of time to dry out.
Little late today! Lol. Was waiting for your video to pop up!

Same time as usual here in UK 🇬🇧 👍
I was in the romford pmt store today before watching this video. They have a lovely blond antiquity keith richards enspired tele with humbucker in the neck.
Thanks, great video! I like seeing you review these guitars. I have no intentions to buy a ultra budget guitar, but always good to see what's what. i do like value but if i want a cheap telle I'll go for a Mexican fender or possibly a squire. Have you ever had a mad catz telecaster, the prince guitar? I love that thing 😄 Cheers!
I love the Clapton version live at the concert for George personally he played it superbly I still watch it now. I wish someone made a reasonably priced actual rosewood one. I know rosewood is more expensive but surely someone could take a chunk out of £3000
13:16 the routes on this are superbly done. Obviously they know how to sharpen their bits, unlike Gibson USA
Thanks for the shoutout mate! Cracking guitar for the price isn’t it 🤘

Haha great to hear from you man! 🙌
Nice! £179 makes this a good alternative to Harley Benton for Brits- might even be made in the same S.E. Asian factories as HB. I guess the price might be around $200 or so if these were readily available in the States, putting the TL-1 in the Squier Bullet/Sonic range. If so, I bet they'd sell very well here against Squier. The dark satin finish looks good and it sounds surprisingly good too, especially in the bridge and middle switch positions. As you said, the neck position is a little "wooly" but a little eq or stepping on a pedal could brighten that up. Or maybe install a P90 or splittable humbucker? Thanks Colin, enjoyed this, cheers from Dallas.
I saw a local band a few weeks back doing Beatles covers and I spoke to the guitar player afterwards about the tele. When he told me how much it was I was taken aback. . It sounded pretty damn good to be fair and in the hand it is quite impressive for the price. He said sod it, if it turns out crap I've only spent 180 quid. You can't grumble at that.
That's some nice playing at 21.52!
Another excellent review 👌 ..that's not a bad looking guitar loved the jam, those bends on the strings were epic..
I’ve got a Tele and Strat, made of brasilian rosewood. Heavy, but great playing, sounding and looking guitars.
A very good looking guitar... lower price affordable guitars offer good hot rodding platforms to work with... splendid playing... love your vibrato bends! Cheers from Ohio, USA.
The tortoise shell scratch plate as such looks nice at that guitar.
Cool cool !! Thanks !!
OK, that was the last cheap guitar review Colin. I do expect to see your Gibson Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Doubleneck review next time! Don't disapoint me!!! 😉 Thanks for another entertaining episode (Im not finished yet but you never disapoint)!

Double neck great but @ 50 k one could have 100 $500 guitars !!! 😊 😊 😊
Love your channel Colin, I’m pretty sure the T telecaster you purchased from PMT is made by Squire (Fender) it defo looks like a Squire🧐😎
I have to say, it sure looks good, even if stained cheaper wood. Imagine what a chunk of rosewood that size would cost. A slab of cedar might not be too costly, but... Anyway, great review of it. Even cheap guitars these days seem to be pretty good. I actually sounds pretty good... the neck pickup on a clean amp setting aside. Crazy nice Tele-type for that money. Well done!
My money was on the HB in this series of cheapies! Now im not so sure🤔 great review Colin 😊
Very good idea to review budget guitars.
Aloha Colin! Made me long for the Japanese Rosewood Tele I had. Great guitar! I had 3 Tele back then. The Rosewood was my favorite. Got it for $425 back in the mid 80's. I probably paid top dollar. I had a point, play and take home arrangement with a local music. It helps if you bought and paid for several guitars already.

Yes something about this one has made me long for a real one too!
The pickups sound pretty dull, but nothing that couldn't be replaced with a set of Toneriders for ~ £60-70
I highly recommend the Antiquity V. It needs a little setting up - intonation mainly - and it isn't korina but it's a lot cheaper than the Epiphone and it plays and sounds good!
Hi Colin I have one, got it last year 149 quid then. I put it up against my Fender Standard and found it to sound just as good ! So had to watch this of course and I completely agree with you. However I later bought the KR one from them nah sent it back sadly one day will scrub the name from the headstock. You should do the SG as I 'm anSG nut like you. There is some relation between SG's and Teles....... must be the tone.
Lovely. Always wanted a rosewood tele because of Harrison.
Cheers Col 👍🏻
I do love ALL The Guitaristas videos! 👍❤️🎸🎶✌️
One also should consider the pickups available now days that you wouldn't be trying to use on a more expensive unit.
I’ve got a antiquity Les Paul left handed, for £150, I’m not really a expert but I do like it, it looks good and plays good and its good enough for me
Harley Benton used to do a model that had a rosewood veneer from and back. I really liked it, but didn't get one in time.
I went through my faze of buying expensive guitars...kept a few sold on the others....now I enjoy buying cheap guitars....some I mod some I leave alone....I think these antiquity guitars are excellent for the price.
I’ve got to agree with the people saying to ignore the people making snooty comments about reviewing cheap guitars. I’ve got to wonder if the people moaning are new to your channel because I’ve been following you for a while and you’ve always reviewed a range of guitars from a few properly expensive ones down to cheap as chips ones. It’s fascinating to see your opinion of a properly expensive guitar but, even if I could afford one, frankly I’m not a good enough player to remotely justify the expense. I’ve got an Epiphone Les Paul and a Jet telecaster, both of which were influenced by your reviews. I went for the £300 Jet JT350 rather than the cheaper model you reviewed but it was only on my radar because of you. Keep doing what you’re doing Colin and ignore the whingers!

I went to the Gibson Garage opening day - it is amazing there - but all the prices are full retail price - so the main shops that do deals etc will be cheaper

I got this 3 months ago and absolutely love it. Finish is amazing, fretboard is great (not just for a £180 guitar), rounded edges along neck and no sharp frets. 2 things that could be better : the neck pickup and the switches feel a little cheap as you said. Love it though! Thanks for the review!!

Cheers Col! Mate, what learners (or modders) have to choose from these days is insane, when you compare to the cheesecutter garbage some of us came across in the 70s... and the prices, l cdnt whinge about!!
This was the cheap tele review I was waiting for :-) I'm sorely tempted now.
Nice one Col, you're so right, it is wot it is. In my early career I remember buying my first electric guitar, the Audition by Woolys, (Woolworths) (who else started on it too.????) then moving up market ( so I thought) to the dizzy heights of my £40 Avon SG.. The Audition was a finger shredder with one inch action, 😂 the Avon SG was like a guitar equivalent of decaf coffee? I wish back then I could have accessed one of these cheapies you are showcasing so brilliantly,, so todays starters wont feel so bloody uesless like the rest of us who in our teens, struggled to get through a 3 minute song without needing plasters afterwards😂😂😂😂 cheers Col, laters😊

Cheers man… I used to dream of an Avon SG through an Audition amp! 😂👍👍
Colin, I can't understand why people complain about you featuring guitars, like this. Yes, they are made for folks who are beginners, have little money, or both. However, by upgrading the hardware and electronics, and even paying to have the work done, A very high quality guitar can, sometimes, be had for less than 1/2 the cost of a Gibson or Fender. You have even done that yourself, ending up with several guitars that played and sounded as good or better than their expensive counter parts. I guess, the complaining must come from folks who have grown long noses, from looking down them at guitars like this. By all means review a few more PMT"S, like their SG, since you are a big SG fan, and maybe even tweak one up a bit. Now, that could be fun. and drive the "long noses" to distraction too, HA, HA ;-)
Great video, thanks. Please check out more guitars from this brand especially the V and explore models. Like theese more afordable brands. So tired of fender (also Epiphone nowadays) and gibson high prices.
