Quite a few years ago I travelled from Paris to NY to give some resumés in the hopes of moving there to work in fashion. One of the houses I visited was RL and it was amazing, very colonial with antiques and palm trees. The receptionist served me tea on a silver tray and said that 'Ralph would be down in a few moments' ! I said stupidly 'Ralph who?', she of course said Lauren. I hadn't expected the master to actually see me and turns out he had to leave early and excused himself but it was an amazing experience! Most companies told me that they didn't hire non Americans which I found odd as there were many Americans working in Paris at the time. In the ned I am happy not to have moved.

Oh Mary!!! It’s was as wonderful as I had hoped it would be!!! If you know you know! How we loved those madras Polo buttoned-downs with tennis shorts or a new Pappagallo skirt! Our dressers had the familiar dark maroon bottle of Lauren and the emerald green bottle of Polo cologne!

Lord I miss Mississippi will Never get used to cold weather

Ralph Lauren is my all-time favorite designer. From his home collections, apparel to perfumes (Safari❤) and anything leather, I believe everything he creates is absolute magic! Thank you for taking us antique shopping. My very best find ever was a four-foot blue and white Chinese jar that cost $25.00 from a consignment shop. Love the hunt!🌺

Now this one I’ve been really looking forward to. Love Ralph Lauren style so classic.

This book was 540 pages of YUMMY eye candy and the text was thoughtful and interesting!

This was just so lovely. What a beautiful book. Ralph Lauren , how could you not love his iconic style. Years ago when I was a young mother who loved his home design and going to yard sales trying to furnish our starter home I came across this leather square satchel it had a metal clasp, when I opened it inside was a tarnished silver box and ….and a clear bottle with the same style top in silver as a RL polo cologne bottle. Be still my heart. It had a slight crack in the neck of the bottle. But when I opened the silver box it was gleaming and I knew I could clean it and it would be stunning. I turned it over and it said “ Sheffield,England”. I asked the homeowner what it was used for. She explained she lived on a ranch once in Texas and she use to horseback ride. That the bottle was for your favorite beverage and the silver box for a sandwich. The long strap went across your shoulder so you could wear it as you rode. I asked for the price…. 1.00 !! This treasure came from a cape cod style home in a seaside village on LI. And right to my living room ! It has been with me to every place I’ve lived and is still with me today. Thank you for the rainy day shopping trip the vase is lovely! So glad it was just a tropical storm !

Oh , I was so happy you chose the silver flower vase. When you put it down , I was NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! And since you didn't show the tag I wasn't sure if it was $25.00 or under. It is such a sweet piece. Driving home through the trees overhead was so beautiful. And ending the day with a plate of beautiful cookies, tea and a a flower filled vase... that is my kind of day! I love rainey , cozy days!

I do enjoy those days also! The store is only a mile from my house and I like going on rainy days because it thins out the crowd. I can easily walk through, then come home and cocoon!

Wonderful choice,Mary .♥️ If there was ever a Ralph Lauren lover ,have been forever,when people ask me my style,that is easy ,house or clothing,I have clothes that are 45 years old that I still wear. I love the different collections in his line . I just watched his runway collection a couple weeks ago,nothing that I would buy or afford but I admired his work . Where would I wear Runway clothes 😂. He will always be my favorite Designer I did donate a sweater this week fairly new one ,which I rarely do,but it was nothing special….I hope I don’t take it out of the box before Monday 😂😂😂. I agree completely! I remember, as a teenager, seeing photos of Princess Diana sporting a tennis racquet and wearing a Ralph Lauren sweatshirt just like one I had. I thought "what other designer would make this possible"? A teenager and a princess both having access to, and both appreciating the same design...only RL!

The pineapple, as you probably know, is a Souhern symbol of hospitality and is also a symbol of Italian royalty... I'm typically not a huge fan of narrated films since too many are either too lengthy, are done too fast, or are out of sync with what's being filmed but yours is the most enjoyable one I've ever seen! Thank you! It helps too that I'm a huge Ralph Lauren fan and have been lucky enough to have collected a nice inventory of his bedding, linens, and pillows! I look forward to more of your posts!

John Grady Burns is amazing! His style is timeless. Evergreen is one of my favorite books and I had him sign it on a visit to Natchez.

Beautiful book. I've always been a fan of Ralph Lauren.

I’ve been a huge fan of Ralph Lauren since my teens. The first pieces of fine furniture I bought for our first apartment are timeless and quite RL in style and quality. I’ve already purchased the Ralph Lauren book and have been flipping through it often; I only wish the book had more chinoiserie as is shown in the Ralph Lauren stores in NYC & Chicago.

I decided to make the dresser at time stamp 6:19 with the silver studs and lion head? or is it a trunk with locks under a table, already have a carmel colored leather studded recliner and a large white fur so I am halfway there ;) It turned out gorgeous! exact same colors. I have a tobacco colored velvet sofa FULL of teal, olive and orange tapestry pillows from Turkey and leopard furs and pillows scattered throughout balanced out with large stately iron pieces n of course, lots of plants❤

Charming...

Someone is going to get hurt in that furniture warehouse with furniture piled high and narrow pathways! You should try a thrift store. Things are much less expensive. People are really not buying anymore and want empty looking homes. It's shocking to me. If you have natural decorating ability you can find great buys at most all thrift stores and they are not labeled as antique stores. Lots of glassware too. I have found beautiful accessories but they are so inexpensive I don't have room for all I can buy. I guess everything goes around and comes back in style sooner or later.

I was a preschool teacher for 20 years, Early on, I noticed that when read books to my class they all calmed down and some actually nodded off. It must be my super power. 😄

I collected stamps from the grocery store to get my complete serving set of blue willow from the Churchill company in the 1990s. I really enjoyed doing that but I suppose those days are gone.

One of my favorite things as a child was to put the stamps into the books the store often provided. My grandmother treated those stamps like money. I still have some jewelry she got using those stamps!

The book looks amazing but I wish the cover felt a bit more luxe to Be a proper coffee table book to fit any interior tbh! Nevertheless he’s created a timeless brand.
