    Hey Professor! Cube & Cubamajigs owner here. If you really crease the flaps that fold into the lock you can eliminate the slight gap so they look snazzier. My only complaint with them is they're smudge magnets, but I suppose that can't be helped :)

    I've been wanting to make a cube for some time now, but I was daunted by the thought of how to store and organize such a monstrosity. These seem like a great product for recreating that draft feel. Thanks professor for your videos, and all you do. This has definitely helped me.

    My cube (1/3 Uncommons 2/3 commons) is stored in a small BCW Box) It hasn't been updated since Khans came out though so there are some updates needed for it The basic land for it are stored seperately in an old Fatpack box. The only thing my cube is missing is friends to draft it.

    Thanks for this video! I really like the idea, and so I backed it on Kickstarter! I just got in sleeves for my peasant cube, and I am hoping to make a good stuff cube soon too. I like that it makes 25 packs which is enough for a full 8-person draft, with one pack left out. I can’t wait to plan out my next cube!!

    Wow. Cubeamajigs seem incredible. I used to just open booster packs in such a way where I could recycle the packs, but that wouldn't let me store sleeved cards, nor let me "seal" them easily while maintaining resusability. Definitely getting some of these in the future. :D

    This is interesting to learn how you have done your set cubes. I have recently gotten to doing this as well, and the only difference that I have done is include 2 of each rare and 1 of each mythic. this creates the more accurate 12% chance of pulling a mythic that mimics your usual chances in a booster box. But love the video as I just learned about this product!

  • @Boomkinization
    @Boomkinization6 жыл бұрын

    I don't feel the argument of these making the process of creating booster packs easier holds up, as you'd have to shuffle and create the packs before putting them in the cubeamajig anyways. Regardless, this product is a cool way to emphasize the drafting experience, and I will be picking up some for my own cube.

  • @worldthroughabucket

    @worldthroughabucket

    6 жыл бұрын

    It is easier as you can have it prepared beforehand and don't need to shuffle everything before starting. Admittedly you could just shuffle up your cube before bringing it somewhere and just divide up the cards from the top, but usually it is customary for people to shuffle everything before dividing up the cards. So normally you would be shuffling twice in a lot of cases (once before the draft, once after). Here you shuffle once (after the draft) and then seal them up in the packs randomly.

    this makes no sense at all. Its much more work than just preshuffle and use dividers like everyone would do. Its just more timeconsuming to fuddle around with inserting and opening those packs.

    Andrew Sparkes Normal envelopes taper near the bottom and might warp your sleeved cards. Assuming you wanted to measure out and put together 18+ papercraft boxes, that could indeed be an option. Is your time and materials worth less than $1 a box plus shipping?

  • @LedPESRule

    @LedPESRule

    6 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, I totally don't get it. Also, if you prepare them beforehand and use let's say half of the prepared packs for the draft, wouldn't you then need to also empty all the remaining packs to reshuffle everything to prepare for the next one? Idk, it seems like a complete waste of time to me. Even the design looks bad and impractical.

    I use the KMC card barrier box 1000 you reviewed in a card storage box video a while back. It's absolutely perfect for a single sleeved 540 cube in particular. One of the 2 top sections is just the right size for about 35 of each basic land, and the other 4 sections fit the 540 cube perfectly; not too snug, not too loose. I also have another of this box for 6 commander decks along with 1 pauper deck in one of the small compartments, and tokens in the other. It's about as compact as you can possibly get too, while still being strong as bull

    Just used them and they are beautiful. Quick tip: The rounding that occurs at the seal is minimized when the proliferated edges on the top and bottom of each pack (2 each four total) are folded with enough pressure to flatten the plastic. In fact, in most of my packs no bulging occurs.

    I’ve been doing something like this for years, but with Ultra Pro Team Bags. I used to carry it in a Kakapopo case, but I’ve since switched to a similar case I found in a Goodwill that has a shoulder strap. Storage isn’t quite as neat and organized as it was with the old case (this case’s removable dividers aren’t optimized for card storage), but it gets the job done and is more comfortable to carry.

    This is one of those ideas that is interesting, but not for everyone. Most people don't have the time or inclination to pre-make packs for their cube. And I personally use my cube for a lot of other drafting styles (mostly Winston, but I also like Grid or Solomon on occasion). The people who do want this sort of thing, however, have been looking a while. I've seen people on reddit use anything from ziploc baggies to manila envelopes. It's a small niche to fill, but it is there. And it's good to hear that the quality is there for those who do want them.

    Currently using a custom box from design craft industries. its been amazing. I like the Idea of these but wish they opened and closed through a different mechanism. they take up lots of space after opening. I think these are ideal for block cubes as you mentioned but part of the fun of regular cube is dealing out/swapping the packs! all part of the cube experience!

    I wonder if you could use old audio cassette cases to do the same thing? Just snip off the two little "pillars" that are supposed to fixate the cassette in the case. Would also be less fiddly to deal with than these. You can clearly see Prof struggling to get the cards out of the pack when he opens it, and in a cassette case, the cards would come out with the lid when you open it.

    We've been doing something similar to this for a while, but using UltraPro Team bags and those have worked out quite well and are extremely inexpensive. I've been watching this Kickstarter for a couple weeks, but I think my only worry is the fact that we only single sleeve our cards and use a small Pirate Lab case for the cube and I don't think 30 packs would fit with the added bulk of the Cubemajigs. We have the land, dice and tokens all in one case. How much added space is there inside these with only 15 single sleeved cards?

    Bought a pack of 25 cubeamajigs just for a booster box of jumpstart. I'm hoping the extra will hold a full set of poker cards.

    I just bought a couple 25 packs for my boxes too. Didn’t even think about a product like this until Jumpstart was announced.

    I played a draft game before and the shuffling was just annoying luckily there was only 4 people playing and not more as then the set up shuffling takes a bit more time before the drafting and playing can start

    I am making a new format that is made to be quick + like 10 minutes there are 2 players each gets a special booster ( like the cubamagig thing ) they will have 5 lands 5 creatures and 5 other cards to heal then the players will pick randomly one pack and open it and will put 8 away and then will play normally getting a new card each round milling is an amazing idea but most of the cards are made to do damage ( the players will have 10 health )

    If your making a cube, you are bound to be buying sleeves to protect your cards. I just re-use the sticky clear packs that the sleeves come in to recreate the pack opening experience. Maybe a touch big for only 15 cards but not really a big deal since its something you will have around anyway.

    could these potentially hold 20 sleeved, e.g. Jumpstart decks?

    So, for about 130 to 150, you could get a stock if these and baby's first cube from the last video and have a pretty sweet cube setup. That's actually a pretty sweet deal personally speaking.

    i def agree that the box flaps could be improved, perhaps they could do what the classic UP deck boxes have.

    Is there anyway to get this in Australia without paying more then a pack of 25 is worth in shipping?
