Quite heavy, but I found out last year I can’t have my own children without risking death and my sister just announced she’s pregnant with her third. My months of healing unraveled, but back when I was sick and now, I’ve turned to Chateau Diaries for a beautiful example of child free adults living with family, friends, and adventure. I haven’t known many if any child free/childless people and I hope Stephanie sees this and sees the value of living a happy life for someone like me ❤️

@Apostrophe4035 I’m sorry.. sending you so much ❤ compassion to wherever you are. It feels unraveled for right now, it’s hard to imagine right now but it will mend back together and likely stronger. You’ve done the really hard work of what’s entailed on the journey of healing. It isn’t lost, it’s temporary. I wanted you to know you aren’t alone in that feeling, details may be different but the emotion/feeling we all share/experienced. In this now moment it’s hard and its totally fine to be just that whilst watching these vlogs that have been a supportive outlet for you. Only you know what is truly needed for you right now. Stephanie’s channel does so many things for so many people and for many different reasons. Much love to you and huge warm hug.

😊 Yes, Amaury did an amazing job as usual on that new worktop👍. Stephanie's fortunate her cousin is a 🪚craftsman🔨. 😉Think it's so cosy & charming in 🇫🇷 French and 🇬🇧 British kitchens to have a dining table in the center of the room. 🤔Although as a taller woman, a traditional table would NEVER work as prep space for me. It would kill my back bending over that low🤣. Love cooking & baking bread too💛, but I hate😖 facing a 🧱wall to do my chopping, mixing, etc. I'd rather do my labor at an island facing out w/👁👁sightlines around the room. 🤓Would raise the table to counter height⬆️ and swap🔁 the chairs for stools w/backs. It wouldn't be such a sacrifice since they have OTHER places to dine. Yet it would still allow a place for 👥️️folks👥️️ to comfortably congregate for a 🍵cuppa☕️ or family meal 🍽. 👩‍🍳Most restaurant kitchens I've been in are rather crowded & chaotic places with lots of mad activity🧑‍🍳. For the number of guests & residents in the Chateau, there are times they NEED multiple cooks & kitchen workers. For that, extra prep space is a top priority. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Slim drawers might be practical for knives but, will take a while as can be fiddly and time consuming. I Thought of Amury recently when clearing lots out from my dads carpenter garage. He did his carpenter apprenticeship in the early 50’s and had lots of old tools from his teacher before then too. He had lots of new ones over the years too and we found about twenty saws and a hardware shop style wall of boxes screws clamps etc ! Most things from his sheds have gone to good homes but the house roof is still semi Lined with some extra wood he collected - just in case it came in handy for a job :) ! Hope in future the new house owners enjoy diy !

Amaury did, as usual, a beautiful job with the wood. Steph, I thought you were going to have tiles with images from your father's paintings as a splashback in the kitchen...or am I mistaken? Lovely to see work progressing outside...even if they did pull of one of those huge stones! So good that no one was hit with that thing! Lotsa love, Jacqueline from New Zealand

HI Have you thought of changing the doors on the pantry in the kitchen? It looks well worn where people open the doors. You could put decorative screen doors on or place tiles where people put dirty hands to open it. Just a thought as you are putting in the nice work surface.

I'm glad that the stone didn't hurt anyone. Does that wing date back to the 1800s? How will the stone be put back and when? At least it wasn't worse. Ruby is so much bigger than Lancelot. Such a big tomcat.😊 I'm happy for Marie about her new work space. She should ask around about pull out trays for storage stuff. Maybe Stephanie can check out a kitchen store in London. Lovely quick hop to London for Charity work. Now, I want a Scot egg for breakfast and real Indian food. ❤

So happy to see that Lancelot and Rubis are becoming friends. I feel sad for Rubis because I never see someone pet him or show him some affffection or love. It is not enough to feed him, he needs some love as well ( of course, being a cat lover I have to recommend some love and afffection for him ). He is well fed and that is great but humain love is fantastic for him. Anyway I am sending love to Rubis and Lancelot today ❤❤

Perhaps you are right. Never the less I can only mention and be concern about what I see on the vlog which is people petting the dogs, loving them, allow them into the house ( kitchen, bed even in their arms while sitting at the table ) but I never never saw Rubis inside even on the very cold winter months ! Therefore, I find it only normal to be concerned about Rubis not being pet and receiving love, being warm even have a nice warm bed while Lancelot Walsh over a soft warm bed and he is granted so much affection and love. Only normal

Maury is a genius. Each time someone is shown preparing food at the kitchen table I think about their backs being strained bending over so low. I wondered if a large chopping board with legs could be made by Maury to place on the kitchen table. My second suggestion would be to add one of those warming units with shelves to the area over the unused stove that restaurants have to keep food warm until served. Very helpful when preparing multiple dishes. Love the friendship between Lancelot and Ruby 🐾🐾

Amaury has done an amazing job!!! Just a thought - on the left that is just raised a touch - it looks like there's a cabinet interior there. What if you make that cupboard there as a pull-out drawer with a garbage bin where you can put all the compost material as you're cutting/preparing?? If it's deep enough, you could put in two bins to separate the compost as well. I had one of these in my kitchen and it was so handy! The cupboard door does not swing open, it pulls out like a drawer but looks just like the rest of the cabinetry... I know, clear as mud, right? lol

Well, I have to say that I never knew my love for Friend, Châteaus and heavy metal (metal/hop-hop fusion) music would intersect, but there you go. Butterfly is a great song, and I did not know that it was ripped from the Red Hot chili peppers. By the way, the RHCP was a local band that used to play at house parties and small venues here in the Southern California area when I was a teenager. It’s so incredible that nobody got hurt when that stone was ripped from above! Another day of excitement at the Château.
