@@racereview1679 yes, back in the 90's you could just buy software for a fixed price which was often waaaaaaaaay cheaper than what you spend on this for even half a year.

Had VRS for years and I’m gonna give the Academy a shot. Simply because of the ease of use for the setups 😅

Thanks for the great description of the new update! Having watched your Daytona race it really makes a difference to know all the details 🏁

Would be better if it showed the view of the race itself (replay) so you can see exactly where you brake and turn etc so you can find the reference points

Incredible video. Super helpful and very informative. Once I finally get my sim rig setup I think I’ll have to give this a try.

Been using Delta since the very early beta about a year or so ago, brilliant stuff especially if you are more of a "sit and race" sort of sim racer who doesn't have the time or desire to spend a lot of time on for example tyre pressure on ACC, but the new features have put it on another level, the value was already very good but 3.0 makes it a no brainer for anyone being somewhat serious about their racing.

This is genius! Looking forward to giving this a go Mr. DC!! That's not even the best bit made me laugh. Genuine excitement 😂

This is a huge update. I havent used Motec ever, but i guess this elevates Delta up there. Awesome! Now we just need them to do GTE setups :D

Cheers Dave, easy to understand and the track and turn which Mr Average here can relate to. I had researched Coach Dave package before, however just didn't quite understand the benefits. I will be signing up this weekend!

When I tried to get a license for LFM, I came across a video that explained for over an hour how to use the track, which line to take and why. And the author of this video used a tool called "Popometer" which can apparently do something similar to what you're showing with the Dave Coach Software. But in addition to seeing the throttle, brake, speed, gears and steering input, it also shows the line that you take through a turn. This is where I'm struggling, I think. my line is always different and I'm not very consistent. Every time I (unintentionally) choose a different line through a corner, I never can repeat the same line another time. However, I'm not a good driver - when I finally had my SA rating in ACC high enough to take part in doing the license lap, it was Misano at that time. You need to be within 103% of the record lap time 5 times in a row, I think. Impossible for me, I'm lacking at least 3 seconds and even after having seen the instruction video, I couldn't find another second. So, I gave up. But this Popometer seems to be also very good in finding what you're doing wrong. I just don't have the time and energy to do that.

CDA is well on its way to being really good. If they add the ability to overlay a pro with your telemetry i would return as a customer. If my laps times are 1 second off the top guys, staring at my telemetry will only help some.

Doesn't garage61 do a lot of similar stuff for free?

You can get the all the data stuff for free if you use motec and know how to set it up plus that way you can also get more infomation than shown in this video BUT for the people that don't like to or don't have the knowledge to you don't have setups and to me having a one stop shop where everything is there at your finger tips is worth the money for any of them. I personally would go for coach Daves if I was to pay just because I know the person behind it from he's videos and racing etc

It is basically Motec with a beauty filter :D

The only thing missing is the racing line analysis, which I use in VRS. Dealbreaker for me, otherwise I’d try it.

Telemetry is a fantastic tool, and being able to compare with yourself is cool and it will no doubt improve many peoples lap times, I’m guessing it doesn’t allow you to overlay with say the fastest lap in the session?

Is it possible to see this data on a phone or iPad or do you need to see it on the pc with the sim running?

Garage 61 is free and does basically the same. Compare your Laps with others via Telemtry API. Sometimes you get Setups or a Ghost Lap too. But its only for iracing i think

If I'd be racing more I would most certainly get this subscription. As of now I don't race enough that I can justify the cost of that service.

dave - am i right that you can only select the fastest lap to compare to...and not the sector? so playing devils advocate - you could be comparing this bus stop section of your fastest vs slowest lap...but you could in theory have been faster through the bus stop on your slowest lap? is there anyway to get sector times for each lap to make sure you are analysing a faster sector or even specific corner? (hope that makes sense)

You can click on the laps and it tells you the sector times for each. I was 2 tenths quicker in sector 5 on my faster lap 👍

Am I reading the graphs wrong, or were the 2 laps not roughly the same delta (0.4 seconds) all the way through the bus stop? Or did you lose another 2 tenths from the exit onwards? Either way, this type of software is fantastic. I'm using a similar one myself, and it is really useful for finding time.

@@davecamm Yes, but the way I read the graph, you were 0.4 down into the bus stop and 0.4 down after the bus stop, and I couldn't see a difference in speed after the bus stop on the graph. I did watch it on my phone screen, so I might have read it wrong.

@@davecamm oh you're right, that's absolutely true - g61 is iRacing only. I'm iRacing only so i forgot about that part :D. given the ACC/LeMans support Dave's is an amazing deal for those who race all the different sims.

Looks like a more expensive but worse version of VRS. Not to mention all the features on VRS this doesn't have.

Yes I agree, the vrs analysis is more detailed, but I suppose it's early days for delta. I just think that the ability to analyse data from 4 titles and the ACC setups is great value 👍

@@davecamm Absolutely! Maybe they should look into doing something where you could choose a specific service for a discounted rate or if you wanted all them then continue with the same plan! Much like VRS does with the data packs!

VRS is better and cheaper. You get to compare your laps to their coaches laps. Better than to your own.

You can do exactly that with the Delta app too!

Useful, sure, but good value? Come on, Dave. This is more expensive than Netflix 1080p (and not far off 4k), more expensive than Office 365, more expensive than iRacing FFS! People take sim racers for mugs these days.

Depends what you prioritise I guess? Any setup shop will charge £10 per month for one sim. With this you get two, plus the extra features. That's where I think the value comes from.

@@davecamm While I'll agree that value is subjective, and £150 a year isn't breaking anyone's bank, when the 3rd party bolt-on to an entertainment product is more expensive than the 1st party entertainment product it's bolting-onto, somebody, somewhere is just extracting the urine. This is a trend, Dave, it's not a good one, and someone of your calibre shouldn't be putting it about.

I would quite happily pay that for my hobby. I've paid for setup shops and overlays for years on top of my iRacing subscription. Yes it's more than the iRacing sub, but it's not just for iracing. Check out some of the other setup shops. Some are more expensive for just the setups. Which was my point about it being value for money 👍

Pay-to-win. If all of the top contenders use it, (and it's effective) then it becomes a mandatory expense in order to compete. If you say, "they already do" then I suppose I'll support another hobby. I have too many anyway.

It's not required to pay money for setups, coaching or telemetry analysis. You can learn how to make your own setups for free, watch free coaching videos on youtube, and learn how to analyze your own telemetry in Garage61 for free. Paying for convenience is a thing though.

VRS has had this for years. Glad there are more options though.
