    This is technology that has been used in the print industry for a very long time. It’s called lenticular. Save yourself a lot of money and just search for lenticular sheets, you’ll find some suppliers sell it for less then 50$ a sheet

    Those types of lenses do not produce the same effect. This tech is born from those lenses but with a ton of RnD done to achieve the proper light bend.

    They weren't the first ones who invented it. They're just the first ones to try selling them. Invisible shields and similar is old news to a few of us so theres not much consideration in schooling people on it especially considering that you can figure it all out online

    Hmm true but it’s not exactly super attractive, I might just prefer a different barrier in situations like maybe a cool wall. The effect is just kinda blurry nothingness.

    Seems it could be a next layer of modern/future combat utilizations. I would want an umbrella-like unit to have the option to place overhead of your position. Increase your chances of staying hidden from aerial reconnaissance.

    It's just lenticular plastic, there's nothing new about it, it's literally been around for years, when he refferenced the holo-cards, that's exactly what it is, I remember them using it on the sleeve for the vhs of The Lost World way back in the day.

    There needs to be a small gap between the shield and the thing it is hiding because of how it works. If what you are hiding is touching the shield from the back it will just look slightly blurry

    It required the camera being in a specific position though, to line up the edges of the shield with the edges of the glass behind.

    Wouldn't work, the shape is important. If it were rounded, some of the viewing angles would be straight on to the viewer instead of to the left and right of you.
