He really only became the hero because Heiter told him he couldn't. Thats so petty and I love it😂.

I love the fact how this series shows that a hero isn't always the chosen hero. I think Himmel just resolve himself and his party that they will become heroes despite not being the chosen one to pull the sword out the stone. I think previous adventurer got disheartened when they couldn't pull the sword out the stone.

One thing thats clear is that they are still heroes.

I personally think Stark didn't try to pull out the sword himself at the time because he probably didn't think he was someone worthy enough to even try, considering how much that constant sense of cowardice and underestimating himself was bothering him all this time up til now.

Yeah ... He also mentioned that himmel wouldn't have abandoned his village like he did . He probably said this because he wanted to pull the sword but hesitated because he wasn't confident but Himmel tried to pull the sword without any hesitation . That explains why he said Himmel would not have ran away

Kraft is a warrior monk, most of the elves were wiped out over a thousand years ago the demons targeted them first before waging war on the humans, if you think about it, it means humans ignored the elves getting clapped which is kinda sad Tbh. Also you were right in saying there is a message in every episode, I think that's part of what makes it so great e.g. This episodes message is you don't need a sword or anything else to have the heart of a hero/warrior.

A little sidenote Frieren is actually gonna have 28 episodes

They said Stark’s brother being clean shows he was the strongest, yet Stark surprised him and got his cloak dirty. I really liked how they hinted at Stark’s strength.

They were alluding to that sword during his flashback to show that Stark didn't even bother to try and pull the sword because he sees himself as a coward, someone who he thinks can't be called a hero or a warrior. Eisen's response to Himmel saying "we're not warriors" was "everyone who works hard is a warrior". Recognition from people or from some sword don't make heroes, actions do. Stark did like every sidequest in town in a single afternoon and still had time to goof around, I think he's Him 2.

The fact that Himmel still became the goat even with a fake sword is even more impressive honestly

​@@alexandersveryown4760there's flashbacks to Frierens journey with Himmel, Heiter and Eisen throughout the series there are fights in them. I believe eventually it will show the fight with the Demon King when they reach Heaven I think they are halfwayish 😅😂 in the Manga

The gifts Stark hands out to the demons are actually those hands.

Stark literally exaggerated his backstory. He made it seemed like he chose to run away when his village was attacked out of fear But his brother was the one to tell him to run. 😂

@@USful Yeah, that's kind of the core of Stark's character. His cowardice and low self-esteem feed into each other. Because of his past, he doesn't think he's strong enough and underestimates himself, so he runs away from things that scare him, which lowers his self-esteem, which causes him to underestimate himself even more, which cause him to run away which causes his self esteem to lower again, and so on and so on.

Honestly how can anyone hate this anime, it just goated. Stark is hella cool. The brother was also cool cause he wasn't an asshole, he actually cared about his little brother, his dad on the other hand is a bitch, I don't even need to explain why. I swear I love how goofy everyone is within their own rights

In the last episode they mentioned that if some wind came along it would blow whatever was floating away, which is why they had to carry Stark to the cabin.

Stark is so hard on himself! Even after defeating a huge dragon, tough demoness, & multiple monsters in this episode, he still doesn't feel confident enough to think he has hero potential. Himmel seemed to have a brave "fake it til you make it spirit." The inability to pull out the legendary sword didn't seem to diminish his belief of defeating the demon king. I'm really enjoying this anime, too! It's already highly rated. Hopefully, a certain fanbase won't start a hate campaign on one website 😂. I look forward to next episode's reaction.

this show is also proving even the smallest kind action can change the world himmel' crew believed him and stayed with him and kafed till they made it. also fern and stark being saved and being showed loved made them the perfect party for frieren. also they all hate the demons so they definitely will eradicate all demons

I think people can think too much on the trope side of things with this series. This show meets expectations time and time again but it doesn't follow the typical style of how you think things would go. Like I did not want nor see stark pulling out the sword. Stark just doesn't seem like the type. Himmel proved himself to be the hero already. The sword was more so a device to show how himmel overcame the odds put against him and how he chose to be a hero. Not letting fate dictate who he was. I think more than anything stark sees himmel as a person to look up to and the sword thing pushed that more.

So the reason they kept showing the sword for Stark is because any warrior would at least try. But he didn't try he ran away from trying. He didn't want to attempt to pull the sword out and fail. And he also didn't want to pull it out and succeed. So he ran away from the choice.
