EXTERIOR
In 3.0L Ghia guise, this was the Mk2 Capri to have and the ultimate ‘car you always promised yourself’. This superb example is finished in the original colour of Diamond White (Code BM), which boasts a bright uniform finish with only light markings visible. All original panels are straight and display uniform shut lines, and the underside is free from excess applied underseal to allow easy inspection of the structural integrity. The trim sections, brightwork and Ghia finishing’s are in superb order as is the correct pre blue oval ‘FORD’ badging to the grille and boot lid and 3.0 and Ghia wing badges. This vinyl roof is in superb order and shows no lifting or damage whatsoever. This show-worthy example will delight any enthusiast seeking a top of the range Mk2 Capri.
INTERIOR
The luxury interior of this 3.0 Ghia is very clean and in fantastic order. The original Verona fabric seat coverings in Tan, (Code W2), have no tears or excess wear and matching vinyl door cards are in excellent condition. The dashboard is in perfect order, as is all switchgear and the leather covered safety padded steering wheel. All controls, functions and gauges are fully operational with exception of the radio. The original cut pile carpeting and perforated headlining remain in very good condition. The clean boot area has the original ribbed floor carpet, Ford jack and optional super rare load compartment cover. A wonderfully nostalgic and comfortable Classic Ford interior, preserved exactly is intended.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The most powerful engine available at the time was the 3000cc V6 engine as fitted to this genuine 3.0L Ghia. Power output is quoted at 138bhp at 5000rpm and impressive 235Nm torque to offer a top speed of 121mph and 0-60 in 8.2 seconds. The engine bay displays factory plates and stickers and the air box, rocker cover, alternator blades and radiator top plate is chrome for bonnet up splendour! A full stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted for an intoxicating sound track. The optional and rare four-speed synchromesh gearbox is the desirable choice and enables full use of the V6 power!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted sports road wheels, standard on the Ghia, are in perfect order and have been diamond cut with grey inserts to stunning effect. New Firestone F-590 185/70 R13 tyres have been fitted in July 2018 and the original Pirelli Cinturato CN36 remains on the spare. The hydraulic dual-line servo assisted brakes with front discs and rear drums bring the car up straight and true.
HISTORY FILE
Built in December 1976 at the Cologne Plant in West Germany and registered new on 17th January 1977 by Ford Main Agents, Hooleys Garage Ltd of Derby, this Mk2 3.0 Ghia has covered a verified 48,721 miles from new. The huge and extensive history file contains masses of Ford Main Dealer and specialist invoices dating back to the late 1970’s as well as MOT certificates with accompanying checklists from the very first in 1979. The original service book, handbook and Ford accessories brochure is included. Acquired by KGF Classic Cars from a previous keeper who also had a Mk1 Escort RS2000, Chevette HSR and Talbot Sunbeam Lotus and subsequently sold very quickly to Mr Verrell. Mr Verrell honoured contacting us first when deciding to sell the car due to the desire of building a Porsche collection and we jumped at the chance to own this special car again! This R registered example has a memorable number plate with ‘RRR’ prefix.

Brilliant thank you for sharing!
Terry McCann's dream car.
1970s lovely example. Brown vinyl roof. Wonderful.
I was expecting a load of rust to fall off of it when you slammed the door 😃 That's what mine used to do back in 1987 when it was10 years old
Almost straight out of Minder. What a beautiful example.

So do we!
My dad had the 2.8i, best car he had ever driven. All these fancy new car's are designed for kid's........
I think this beauty is offered at a good price. It can only appreciate if kept in top condition by its new owner.
A lot of Capri's where just Capri's .... But a 3000 Ghia was something else! ... And your lovely white super sized garage sets this fine example off very nicely!

No auto was the primary option, thank you for your comment!
Absolutely love this car, sounds epic and at a reasonable price. Very tempted.
It's like the one they used in the opening credits of Minder. Can't be many Capri II's as good as this one!

Lovely, had a couple of 3,0s Capri's back in the day and wish so much I could have the last one back with its X pack bodykit but yes this is a beauty well worth the money.
Fantastic motor a true British classic. This one is in superb condition.

Thank you for the positive feedback and yes we agree, superb condition!
Lovely, except the headlights in my view. Look a bit cross-eyed... I had a 2.0 mark 3 Capri. Always felt like an event driving it. Nice to drive briskly but anywhere near the limit of handling and it became twitchy at the back. Sold it and bought an Astra GTE with fancy digital clocks, and realised why the hot hatch unfortunately saw the death of the charasmatic old Ford Capri... I think everyone should own one once!

very nice 👍
Amazing condition , where on earth would you find such a good example? I liked the next shape with Twin round headlights . The 2.8i with the RS alloys, not the pepper pot wheels . My Grandad had a capri my Nan hated it. So I’m told it was purple .
Stunning machine

Didn't know electric windows had a winder hamdle to operate them
Question: Did Ford continue making Capri Ghias until 1986?
@KGFClassicCars
5 жыл бұрын
No, there was the special edition Capri Laser and Capri 2.8 Injection special. The final model was the Capri 280 Brooklands of which just 1038 were made.
i hate people who slam doors.....especially on a wonderful car like this......just let the door fall shut, grrrrrrr

Seems all classic Fords can fetch any price these days I agree though would have expected this to be not far short of £20000
Beautiful car but why does it have window winders when it states in the description it has electric windows

For original look!
I was never a fan of the mk2, i think the headlights we're awful and spoilt the rest of the car. Thankfully the mk3 fixed this. And thank god the Vinyl roof fad eventually died. And what were they thinking with the 1.3 engine range (i had a 1978 signal amber mk3 1.3L, the 0-60 was literally 20 seconds). But, you gotta love the huuuuuuge ashtrays.. as everyone smoked 40 a day back then :D But, nothing compares to the mk1.

A lovely mint example of the least pretty of the Capri range sadly.
