A rare look inside North Korea's Kim Il Sung University - BBC News

In a few days' time, North Korea will open the most important political meeting in decades - the 7th congress of the Korean Workers' Party.
In the run-up to the meeting, a BBC team is in North Korea, travelling with a group of Nobel Prize winners who are there to promote peaceful dialogue. Rupert Wingfield-Hayes gained rare access to Kim Il Sung University in Pyongyang, the country's leading academic institution.

Americans do have a reason to hate north koreans, Sending missiles to threaten their territories and their ally's is unforgivable. I bet if you had 2 options to either live in the U.S or North Korea, your ass would go to the U.S. Where you can freely express your opinions, although they do have a gun problem there but every country has some shit atleast U.S isn't starving people and violating human rights. We canadians hate north koreans too, and so does England, Austrailia, Germany... even china is getting tired of them. Now's not the time to be a typical U.S hater who relies on cognitive bias to make an argument. North korea is a terrible country, It CANNOT be compared to the U.S. Any country except North korea and somalia CAN be compared to the U.S.

He was captured for 'allegedly' stealing a propaganda poster on the 5th floor of the hotel where he was staying. He went to court, where he had already accepted he had lost his life. He was sentenced to labor works, and freed to the US a year later or so in coma. 6 days upon arrival, he died.

@General Guile Excuse you, if he was taken back to the US in coma and nearly dead he was basically killed in NK. Also, they used against him a suspiciously blurred video from a security camera showing a man taking a poster off a wall. In that video you cannot see his face neither anything that could identify him, so it could also had just been a plot against him or just against the US via one of its citizens. He wasn't able to defend himself in court and was treated as a slave under threats. You just need to watch some of the videos of him "declaring" in "court".

+Custer they already understand that, the people aren't stupid. Only people in leading positions have enough reason (money+health) to be wanting to stay in the country. The reason they don't revolt is that 3 generations of your family will be sent to concentration camps and maybe also executed if you commit crimes against the regime. That means your children, your parents and your grandparents could be punished all together if you chose to disobey the regime. There would have to be a shitton of people of all kinds of different generations willing to die to be able to make a regime-threatening revolution possible. And without the right to assemble freely or without any secure forms of communication this kind of task seems impossible to organize.

The state will allow to him to know what they think he needs to know. He will be able to have enough knowledge to make a good career in North Korea. It is not as if he will ever be able to leave North Korea, so his lack of knowledge compared to researchers in other countries will not be a hindrance to him. In fact, he will likely never even be aware of the fact that the internet exists. Knowledge of and access to the real internet is something that in North Korea is only given to a very select few researchers who can be trusted to know the truth. Unless this boy ever advances to those deep inner circles of the regime, he will remain in ignorance of the outside world.

The BBC helped to spread a false rumour that Ri Yong Gil was executed when actually he is still alive today. The BBC's Panorama show made outrageous claims with no proof, that Kim Jong-ill was a fan of Hitler.

-Muslims are a large portion of all of humanity, let alone foreigners. -Limited human rights (abortion) and hardening immigration (religious tests) is not freedom. It is a form of dictatorship, the same goes with how he's openly said he wants to make it so the media can't express their opinion of him. -Donald trump and most republicans are in favor of war, such as "carpet bombing", and "bombing the shit" out of people. Democrats obviously are less favorable of war but still due to the political establishment of course if it's in their favor they'll go to war just like any republican conservative for the past 3 generations. -Trump is full of ad hominems. How would this be a bernie paradise? Having a completely separate economic system that specifically benefits people in power lol?
