Your decorating sense is both amazing and inspiring. I always feel like I’m walking into a wonderland. Gosh, the churn dash quilt to the left of the the Christmas quilt behind the coordinating table setting (amazing) caught my eye instantly. It reminded me of my maternal grandmother who made an abundance of quilts. Lol, they were dairy farmers with nine children therefore lived in a Hugh farmhouse. The upstairs wasn’t heated but all was well as soon as one jumped under a pile of quilts! I really must add a sketch of this quilt to my book of quilts that I want to make. Have to hurry as I’m close to 80 now. I believe this one will be made since it impacted me so much. Thanks for your videos from the state of Maine. Brrr, not that cold here yet and although winter is my second favorite season, I don’t like it quite as cold as you just mentioned! Now back to finishing your video. Have a wonderful holiday enjoying quilting, family and friends.

Thank you for writing such a wonderful message about your family! Such treasures quilts are for sure. The churn dash quilt you mentioned in my video I did show in a previous video. I got the blocks that are vintage (antique) and were all hand pieces. I then sashed them and added a border and finished it to make the quilt. I used my reproduction 30’s fabrics to go with the era of the churn dash blocks. I have really enjoyed this quilt and think about the quilter who hand pieced the blocks decades ago.

Love how you honored to look and feel of this quilt. Since we are still in the middle of a heavy snowstorm….. started yesterday morning… I’ll watch your other episodes throughout the day as I hunt down this quilt. As I’m sitting here, I just heard that we’re due for a Nor’easter this coming Friday also. I do love winter which is good as I also have two horses. They are such a blessing to me. I was wondering yesterday where you’ve been. I love your table setting. I have the larger red truck. I keep my rotary cutter in it on my cutting table. I also have the matching soap dispenser in my bathroom. I showed my husband this video so he could see how you’ve enabled me. He said (sarcastically) “Thanks pigtail stitcher.”

Thank you, Carol! The table runner is from the book Nickel Quilts by Pat Speth & Charlene Thode. The pattern is called Morning Star. I just made a small runner. The book is a Martingale book from Patchwork Place. It is an older book but I believe I ordered mine on Amazon.

So glad to see you back, but totally get it when having to take care of the house. Can you tell me how difficult or easy was it to do Corey Yoders quilt? I know it has some panels but putting it together seems like a challenge for a beginner quilter. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and ideas

Ellen, the quilt kit was not difficult at all. I did use my 8 1/2 inch square ruler when I did the blocks on the panel. The directions were also very clear. Putting the quilt together was very simple too. Thank you for watching!

Bobbie, I bought the regular straight pins with the flat head. I use my hammer and gently tap the straight pin until it goes through the wall (sheet rock). It won’t work if you hit a wall stud. I practiced doing it with small wall hangings. I got my straight pins at Michaels.

I was just thinking this morning that I hope you planned to do a Christmas decor video. Everything is lovely. Have you shown the churn dash quilt that’s in your dining area in a previous video?

Thank you, Diane! Yes, I have shown the Churn Dash quilt in a previous video. The blocks are vintage and hand pieced and I just put the blocks together with sashing and borders.

Ginger, the quilt that is hung in my dining room is a kit from Moda by Deb Strain called Home Grown Holiday. It had blocks on a panel and pieced blocks also.

The quilt hanging on the door to my laundry room is called Square Dance made with fat quarters. The pattern is no longer available but the quilt shop that I got it from has permission to use it. If you would like to have it let me know and I can email it to you. Thank you for watching!

The quilt pattern is called Sew Many Strips from the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine April 2019 issue. Quilt designer is Tara Lynn Baisden.
