You're right! It would have been a much more impactful movie if the Erich character was replaced with the nurse! He was actually invested in her wellbeing and they had a prior relationship. It would have been heart breaking to see him put himself in danger for her, or her for him at the end. At the end, it felt like she was making a sacrifice for someone that she didn't really know and her cat, which was sad, but not as impactful as it could have been. As it stands, I didn't really care about this movie. It was two strangers trying to navigate this world alone with little to no connection to each other. However, I really enjoyed seeing the cat.

this movie made me miss the performance of Emily Blunt. It made me really appreciate good screen writing and top tier actors.

Very mediocre but the creatures did look well. Best part of the movie is when the people started moving to the boats in crowds and the action that proceeds after. Everything else was trash. Saving the cat, stupid. Side quests like grabbing a book, stupid. Grabbing a pizza, stupid. the stranger with anxiety attacks, stupid. Whole movie was unnecessary, i wanted to fall asleep in the theater, while about half of the people in the theater did.

But does the cat live?! I can't watch it if not ❤
