Dubs may sound better, but they'll still mess with the script to make it more "digestible" to the new audience even when it contradicts the original. Now, I understand changing something when it's absolute gibberish or relies on a cultural reference that no one knows, but sometimes it seems like dub writers just want to make their own mark on the work. One thing from my personal experience I can think of off the top of my head (JoJo Battle Tendency) Scene where Joseph is talking to his grandmother in the back of a taxi. He says something that deeply offends her and she starts hitting him with an umbrella. Watching sub: he asks why his Uncle Speedwagon never married her, and she is aghast at the suggestion Speedy's loyalty has an impure motive as he is a good man who would never prey on a widow's broken heart. Watching dub: he asks if his Uncle Speedwagon was actually his grandfather's secret gay lover, and she is aghast at the suggestion her best friend and her husband were shagging in the bushes behind her back. I mean, it was pretty funny I admit, but I don't think it needed to change.

Ngl, but I think Alucard’s a weeb/Japanophile in-universe, changes his name to be more Japanese, eats ramen in SotN, he even has a familiar sing Japanese lullabies to him. 🐟

At least in Adventure, you do checks and make progress and you'll find the last Vlad _eventually._ In Bounty Hunter, you can have 4/5 Vlads and just be stuck grinding for the last one for 30+ minutes and there won't be a damn thing you can do about it.

Adventure just has a lot of checks that can be relics, so progress can be slow going.
