A Putting Clinic With Rory, DJ, Rahm, Wolff, Day & Morikawa | TaylorMade Golf
Спорт
Sit back and enjoy 20-minutes of Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Jason Day, Collin Morikawa and Matthew Wolff explaining their different philosophies and feels when it comes to reading and rolling putts. Using their Spider mallet putters and TP Collection blades, this group knows a thing or two about dialing in your speed and accuracy, which you can learn from!

In each of these category/player Taylormade videos, I see Colin Morikowa asking questions and taking in what others have to say. I don’t see ego, I see someone genuinely wanting to get better. Admirable.

I've noticed this too. Whenever I hear him talk about technique, it seems he doesn't say "there is one way to do this". Instead, I hear him talk about the many ways to approach the same shot, and he asks other players about different approaches that aren't his own style. He is being curious and is a "student of the game" as some say. Taking that approach is allowing him to build his own style from a lot of different techniques, experiment and become a more creative player. ** In other words ... Be like Collin. Even if you are an expert, don't forget to listen and be a student too. =)

Best putter in the group is Jason Day and we hardly heard anything from him before being run over. He is the reason the spider putter has come back in favor. This is like watching the Best Guitarists of all time .... split into two groups : _Jon Rahm & DJ_ - I don't read the music - I just play the tune _Rest_ - I have to read the music - to get the tempo & the sound ... ... Two big questions not asked: 1. Reading the putt - (from low side - double break - last few feet) 2. Grip {especially left hand low - and hand pressure (less pressure = more feel)}
Love how they switched out DJ's putter at the beginning

Idk what I got out of this but it's very interesting
good to hear the different insights. really emphasises the point that you have to find the way of doing it that works best for you personally. only downside is thats a lot of guys to throw questions out to trying to answer at the same time. a lot of big egos who might be more accustomed to being listened to than listening. not good when someone is talking and hasn't finished their point and someone else just starts speaking over them.

Hello thanks for watching and commenting on my KZread channel hope you don’t stop with your love and support❤️
Two things - after watching this and the pitching video, these guys are a lot more about feel and less about mechanics. Secondly, DJ knows a hell of a lot more about golf than people give him credit. He's much more thoughtful than is given credit. Jason Day would be an awesome teacher.
For me the best way Iv learned to feel pace/distance /line is to practice without a putter... meaning stand over the shot and roll the ball from your hand..like playing bowls.. roll it out there on your line and feel the pace ..after practicing this for a while...then take your putter and use that same 'feel' ..its really benificial to me..highly reccomend.
bro dj seems like he doesnt wanna be there lol like he's also trying to answer honestly but also trying to keep his brand deal xD
LMAO. Have Day run that clinic and tell the others to step back. DJ has really improved and it's led to his big 2020 season, but he's still inconsistent. Rory? I don't think so. Rahm drops some bombs but none of these guys are nearly s consistent as Day when it comes to putting. Wolff is getting some flack for being a young guy, but he's already putted better in 2020 than most of these guys have in many of their seasons. See what he did at Winged Foot, even after the final round.
Because DJ is number one in the world, I bought the same putting mat that DJ has and this has been the biggest improvement in my game. Shaved 3-4 strokes with that mat. Also have same Spyder as Rory. That thing is money especially wrt distance control.
The handicap comment from DJ felt like it was directed right at me.
Putting mystical never felt comfortable with the Taylor Made putters still use my Oddysey white hot 2 ball blade after all these year's for me it comfort and confidence in your putter
The alignment aid conversation is interesting. I think a lot of amateurs falsely assume that aim errors in putting are down to alignment, versus things like an inconsistent strike and under/overreading breaks, which probably follows on from the emphasis of aim in the long game. The fact is, our aim is probably not that much worse than theirs, but their strokes are virtually automatic, and they gauge speed and break almost perfectly in concert with that.

Nicklaus said he putted at his best when he felt a 'gentleness' in his grip pressure, which allowed him to feel the putter head weight swing and he would just drop the weight of the putter on the ball and not force it, which helped his overall feel for pace control.
