‘A proud Labor budget, is it?’ Paul Murray shuts down former Labor minister

Sky News Australia host Paul Murray has called out former Labor Minister Stephen Conroy’s claim the 2024 federal budget is a “proud Labor budget.”
“A good Labor budget to me means that apparently taxpayers money is needed to supplement the power bills of Malcolm Turnbull, Clive Palmer and every other billionaire in the country,” Mr Murray said in response.
“This is a proud Labor budget, is it Stephen?”

Hello, I agree with you here, but don't forget the monies put towards the "Yes" vote, 400 million, 21 million to UNRA regarding Gaza and also Chris BOWEN giving some company "Team Global Express" 20 million dollars. The following is a quote from "Airbus Albo", "The Albanese Government has contributed $20.1 million through the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), to get this great project on the road". The budget is giving us $300.00 dollars, to be divided quarterly, for your electricity bill I hardly think that is going to make a dent in families budgets. Keep your chin up and please do not vote Labor at the next election. I have never seen Australia in such a mess.

Pensioners are regarded as a burden on "their " precious money. They like to give millions of dollars to aborigines and also TERRORISTS Organisations though UnitedNations. The cost of living will not vanish because essentials will increase in time. Electricity is a joke because the regular will grant electricity companies to increase their prices. What rent assistance we all know that when there are "help" the landlord will increase the "rent" with some flimsy excuses.

Nobody seems to be calling on the Governor-General to SACK ALBORIGINE and his communist supporters - can't understand why this isn't being demanded. We need a new LP leader as Dutton isn't even pro-active against these mind-bottling, MAJOR issues - he seems half asleep. WHY is there so little opposition to this evil? WHY is it being allowed in our DEMOCRACY? The people have RIGHTS that under Consitutional Law, have to be upheld. The lawyers should be all over it! Not a peep. SKY News and Pauline Hanson, and two excellent Australian Liberal MPs, Andrew Hastie of West Australia and Alex Antic from SA, are the only ones with backbone and nouse in this country. And I strongly recommend Hastie (currently Shadow Defence Minister) as next Liberal leader AND Prime Minister. Hastie is the only Parliamentarian I've ever been able to in all honesty, support and respect. He works hard for his local constituents and on the Federal level for ALL Australia, and is determined to keep our country free and bring it back to its original democratic operating status. He's totally True Blue.

This so-called government couldn't care LESS how quickly they bankrupt our country: that's their socialist/communist PLAN - and it's happening in every democratic country around the world. This is the UN and WEF AGENDA!

A budget can highlight the inadequacies of previous governments. If Menzies had ever delivered a decent budget, Australia would have become great again. But I cannot remember when that was. All government subsidies should be means tested - especially the funding of private schools. - 'WOKE' - we should all resist the trend to become educated, and be proud of our ignorance ? Let's Make Australia Great Again - or at least better than it ever was ?

Can only be achieved under a DEMOCRATIC government. I thought Australians already realised that. Socialists and communists should NEVER have been allowed in our Parliament - their agenda is of course ANATHEMA to any democracy - and what's happening here is happening now around the world in ALL democracies - it's the plan being throttled by the UN, the WEF and other 'interested parties' in their mad scramble to achieve GLOBAL CONTROL. We need to wake up that Australia is in VERY SERIOUS DANGER.

Energy rebate or fuel excise! If you reduce the fuel excise you still give cheaper fuel to the rich. Cheaper fuel might help bring down cost of goods though (for how long?) and I don’t see energy rebates doing that. Just gives energy companies an excuse to charge more.

I agree that the administrative overhead of providing a means-tested energy rebate would negate the benefit, but if they were truly serious about reducing inflation, they would have done away with the $3.5B of energy rebates altogether. Perhaps the $3.5B would have been better spent supporting local builders i.e. to incentivise them to build residential housing stock, including social and affordable housing, to make sure we don't lose more builders, and to alleviate the housing problem successive governments have created and ignored.
