I love the constant "resetting" of the fights. Such an interesting take on an action movie fight typically dominated by non-stop fighting

It actually felt more real, as though they were trying to figure out a weakness or learn the others technique instead of just fighting as if they knew it. Kinda like how boxers feel each other out.
The people who choreographed the fights in this movie are absolute masters of their craft And the guy who choreographed the little hop oher the fence at the end is a silly little MoFo

White has a distinctive style that I love. I can't think of anyone who moves and carries himself quite the same way.

Too brief and I kind of felt it was not "epic" enough. Mullins did not hurt him at all (he probably had some bruising and might have been a little sore the next day). I had hoped that if they had made a sequel that in the next movie he has to face an opponent who truly is his rival.

@@Simon-nv5zj Can you name any better ones? Maybe Uri Boyka's for the Undisputed movies?
Despite of being mostly choreographed bullshido which would never happen in a real life fight, it's well choreographed, played - and the whole movie was entertaining. A type of hero we all love! I even saw the film already twice.
I love how deliciously 90s this is. Random stranger is a master martial artist that gets into street fights for money and ends up fighting in front of a bunch of rich assholes. It really could be called Lionheart 2.
@Zurround

1. It was filmed in 2009 so its a decade too late to be a 90s movie. 2 What you said is true but this movie had a crime fighting element to it with his need to take down "James" but Lionheart was ONLY the fighting and it was desperation to raise money to help his dead brothers widow. Hell, even him being murdered was just a plot device to force the financial desperation as the murderers got caught. Lionheart did not have as sophisticated a plot since it was ONLY about the fighting (and evading those 2 agents trying to capture him) and NOT about taking down a major crime syndicate.

How is this for a dream fight? Not the actors but the characters portrayed and I know its different eras and people age but BRUCE LEE from ENTER THE DRAGON vs. ISAAH BONE, both in their respective primes? Here is a SCARY thought. Mike Jai White was 42 years old (middle age) when this movie was filmed and I know he aged well and looked younger but my rule of thumb is that if a character's age is not told or made obvious by the story then I default to the age of the ACTOR upon filming so until I hear otherwise I will assume that Isaah Bone was 42 years old when he fought Price. Not to sound ageist or anything but that is past prime and to boot he was in prison for 5 years without access to the best training equipment or healthiest food. So what we were seeing in this movie was a HAS BEEN MIDDLE AGED PAST HIS PRIME Bone. The scary thing is imagine what he could do IN HIS PRIME. Prime Bone vs Prime main character from Enter the Dragon would be an off the charts sick fight. Note that even if Bruce ultimately does win its NOT the almost effortless without getting hurt at all victory he had against "Ohara" and I say that everyone else in that movie would lose to Prime bone even "Iron Hand".

I posted on another thread that NOT having a sequel to this was one of the biggest travesties in Martial Arts Movie History. I had wanted an even more dangerous fighter than Price who absolutely rivals Bone in powers and fighting ability and toughness to push him to his limits, and being how superhuman Bone is such an opponent would be SCARY. I also wanted "Pretty Boy" Price to have his own spinoff as a HERO and PROTAGONIST much as how Uri Boyka went from villain to hero in his sequel.
wasn''t one of the guys watching was the same character from Enter the Dragon?

@@maxandmoremax "you‘re just a little slow" Ouch. But you're right. Technically, he didn't ask any question. He stated, "You are gonna fight." I stand corrected. But my point is still valid. When he asked it the first time, he received the answer, "Then, you die." So why does he need to ask it again? Perhaps HE is the one who is a little slow. (Though I would never say that to his face!)

This had to be a late 90s or early 2000s movie. The one liners followed by the most obvious lame fight scene a fatherless writer could put together.
I could never go past 2 episodes on these copies of existing series or movies that were done 10 or so years before. And how fake the sword fighting really is. Anyone that is a swordmaster could finish with both of these guys together in less than 5 seconds.
