A prayer to find deep rest in God's presence! - Praying Psalm 4

In this powerful evening prayer from Psalm 4 we find our deepest identity in God's presence and character.
When we lose our way as Christians or lose our hope, it is usually due to us either losing our sense of who we are in Christ or who God is. In this video we are pointed back to having our identity and rest in Christ.
In this prayer video we pray into two topics that are present in Psalm 4:
1. Seeking God's help as his children.
2. Trusting and resting in God's presence.

This video is made by Praying the Bible, author is Elon Jepsen.
Part of the Praying the Psalms Series.
Every video opens up the daily psalm with a short introduction that connects the psalm with our lives today, followed by a reading of the psalm. Then we go into the actual prayer time by drawing out two prayer topics that are present in the psalm. With each topic there will be a minute of silence, where we all pray together in our own words or thoughts or by writing in the comment section. The videos conclude with a powerful closing ritual consisting of a prayer, The Lord's Prayer / The Our Father and finally The Blessing spoken over you and your family followed by you speaking The Blessing over your neighbourhood, your nation and the world.
The accompanying song today is called "Escape". Today we want to find our escape in God's presence. Send your peace on us today Holy Spirit as we pray from Psalm 4!

We choose the music to our videos by the rythms and moods we think best accompanies the theme of the psalm being prayed. Sometimes the music is composed by Christian artists and sometimes not. There is a very long tradition at least heading back to reformers like Martin Luther and John Calvin in the 16th century and on to John and Charles Wesley i the 18th of taking popular pub and drinking songs and turning them into Christian praise songs and hymns. The Gospel has always been preached this way, most notably going back to the opening of the Gospel of John: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The term "the Word" is the greek term "logos". This term was used in greek philosophy and religious thought to designate the "divine reason". So it is a religious term used in a different religous world and practice, but John redefines it to designate Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it - Psalm 24:1.
God bless you!
