Inspired on real-life events taken back in 1906, A Place in the Sun was a HUGE sucess, being the first-ever Gold Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Drama.
Liz Taylor and Monty performances are just-- superb. And Shelley Winters... lets not leave her out. What a wonderfull cast!
Also, Charlie Chaplin once said that it was "the greatest movie ever made about America". And oh well...
