    Those little guys you mentioned were actually semaphore code. The Semaphore flag signaling system is an alphabet signalling system based on the waving of a pair of hand-held flags in a particular pattern. It was used often used as a way of communicating between ships or from ship to shore and vice versa. It went out of common use in naval settings due to the advent of telegraph. I have been binge watching your puzzle solving videos and am intrigued by them. New subbie from scotland 🤗💕🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    @@TheSkibba The Schrödinger's Cat cluebox took me like 40 minutes to solve. I'm not a puzzle expert but I have solved a few puzzles boxes. I gave it to a friend who has 0 experience and it took him about 1 hour. But he enjoyed a lot! I liked that there is kind of a logical progression to it. You just have to find the starting point but then you always kind of get a clue on what you need to solve next. The inner compartment is rather small if you are thinking of hiding something in it. But you can find the dimensions on their website.

    Hey Chris, I figure people might want to know more about your coin: The cross is called the Jerusalem Cross and was used from 1652-1772 and came out of the Lima or Potosi mines. The crest on the back is that of Phillip V and was used until 1746 also it’s not a doubloon it’s an Escudo because it is made of gold and not a silver Cob coin The cross isn’t perfectly centered because the coins were cut from a bar and weighed to their value with extra gold snipped off as necessary and then the blank was struck with a die by hand to give them their markings You can actually see the name of the Assayer who made that coin on the obverse side, his initial is stamped to the left of the crest I love old coins and treasure so this is like a passion for me

    Hey, I know this is an old comment, but do you mind telling me how you know so much about these coins? You seem very knowledgeable on this topic, and I recently got into treasure hunting, as I want to get into metal detecting for gold, (pirate treasure if I get lucky), do you know how I could get started with such a thing or if you have any knowledge to share with me? Thanks btw sorry if I’m asking too much but this is a beginning of a passion of mine

  • @johnbeauvais3159

    @johnbeauvais3159

    @@yousefsh7949 Hey there! So what I was referencing in this comment was a booklet called “Coins of the lost Galleons” by Captain K.T. Budde-Jones Her and her husband also have a book called “Sweat of the Sun, Tears of the Moon” about the loss of the 1622 treasure fleet. That would be where I start on research for 17-18th century treasure fleets. If you live in Florida the beaches along Jupiter inlet still yield treasures. Checking along St. Augustine or any of the other old cities in the new world would be a good place to begin. Charleston SC, Beaufort inlet would be top places too unless you can get a dive boat to take you to some of the wrecks off shore. Another interesting one for metal detecting would be the locations of old German POW camps in the US. Buckingham airfield had captured Germans as workers and people have found reich coins and other bits and bobs. Places like Arizona and New Mexico had large German POW populations, if you don’t live near the coast. Of course there’s civil and revolutionary war battlefields, though I’m not sure how those places feel about metal detecting. Good luck with your hobby my friend! Hope you find something that stimulates and engages

    I actually got this puzzlebox for my birthday about a month ago and didn't want to watch this video till I figured it out to not spoil myself. With the second part I didn't figure out the pirate could move until I got past the constellations with luck and logic so it felt like I cheesed it a little, but it was still lots of fun. The last thing you do to open the little hatch was supposed to be to use the keys you took from the top, which I thought was obvious because of the logos lasered in there, but then again, you found the pirate and arrow hint obvious (in hindsight it was) and I didn't figure that out.

    Just got this puzzle from my fiance a few days ago. Immediately opened it up and started to solve it. It took me about 2 hours. I couldn't figure out where to start for a while and the star constellations were difficult. I figured it out though. I love these things.

    So I just got this for my bday the other day. I somehow bypassed the keyhole puzzle and went straight to the constellation puzzle. I was confused by the card at the ending in the compartment. You explaining it kinda helped but the Url on the other side was a no go.

    I just received this puzzle as a gift took a little longer than you Chris but also there are etched symbols on the corners that correlate the the two first keys that you removed to line up the gate for that last trap door lol great video I'll be back for more!

    I have this and I had to do the constellations thing the hard way. I didn't move the keyhole part, so I wrote down and drew all the possible constellation-possibilities and brokw it down thru process of elimination. I was confused as to what the sliding panels were for

    @Sue Parras Mr Puzzle does truly love what he's doing. He's been doing it much longer as well. Obviously Chris is more mainstream "likeable" as he appeals to a much broader audience (number of subscribers greatly supports that) but recently Mr Puzzle has done a couple face reveals, and he's actually a very handsome dude. Perhaps more so than Chris. It's just his way of doing things, that I like, and that would perhaps keep him from being as popular as Chris. They're both great. I prefer Mr Puzzle because he is so much better at solving puzzles.
