Good work! I was waiting for such an addon because the good old "Airliner Pilot" was unfortunately not compatible with FSX. You get flight assignments (at last!) and your airmanship is assessed in detail and you have a "goal" a career and a reason to fly and not just pointless from A to B. I also own A Pilots Life 1 but Chapter 2 is a huge improvement. I use it along with "Self Loading Cargo" and this results in great immersion. Absolutely recommend to buy.

Have been using APL for months and are at rank of Captain currently at Easyjet but before that American. I love this app, it is fantastic to have a schedule to fly into many different and varied airports that you don’t have to think about. Heaps of airlines and heaps of places and if you don’t like it then apply for a job somewhere else like I did from American in the USA to Easyjet for UK and Europe. It is superb. Yes you get paid but reality of that is you buy things which then gives you higher percentage of xp. Love this app. Don’t have the upgrade though so might have to investigate that.

Awesome! Yeah there are definite upgrades to v1 and if you own the original you get a significant discount on V2

i kinda like this, i had an idea of an Airline Manager catered towards virtual airlines. You could hire people or ai to run your flights. I dont think something like this exists yet. great video!

Shame it doesn’t start with you having to get your ppl and then atpl. That would be cool. Like if you got a really good score on your atpl you would be offered better starter airlines. If you did crap then you would be offered Ryanair

One thing i hate about this, is when you buy your aircraft license it is a must that you have to do an automatic flight with an airline first and that can be anywhere, which in most cases i don't want. If i want to fly only in North America, i should be able too, but you have to accept a pilot job from the automatic selection first which i find pretty annoying because if i only want to fly in North America, but only presented airline offers besides North America. That is my only pitfall with this, we should be able to select any airline, or position not FORCED on to you.

This looks very impressive and something I always enjoy, the "role-play piloting" available in any method that helps us enjoy immersion and suspension of disbelief. I am just coming back to owning a computer that can handle the beloved Flight Sim offerings I normally just get to drool over... while wishing. So, the question for me is Flight Sim 2020 or X-Plane? Good concept. Now if we can merge the FSPassenger concept with this one, then we are looking at gold. I noticed that there is no passenger info or relation, this would be nice to have especially when I'm flying as an airline pilot. I do dislike that the app doesn't recognize the aircraft type loaded in the sim. And as someone else commented it would be nice to start with your PPL and move on up (as an option for those that want to go that road for a few extra points). But good app with room for growth.

Virtual airlines still seems better. Free, can choose what you fly, progression with ranks unlocking airframes, missions to fly set schedules, active community... atleast at Premier Virtual Airlines

Nice vid. Earning 18 dollars per flying hour seems very low. It will be months before you can afford anything in the shop!

Great video and overview. So is it possible to fly an A320neo in the sim and the app think you’re in an A320? I just sorted the schedule to only include the Neo cos of what’s available in sim (MSFS)

Yep, the app doesnt actually check what aircraft you are flying so you can pretty much fly anything you want. It gives you flexibility depending on which aircraft you own.

2 flight and your rating has already gone down, well done! I assume it doesn’t have flights for more exotic airliners like the Concorde, DC-6 and BAe 146?

There's only one way my rating is going! The app doesn't appear to check the type of aircraft you are flying therefore in theory you could fly one of those

Can you change your contract type at a later point say from fly with no issues to bonuses for meeting flight hours or number of flights? Like if you started like me with no worry contract but want to then stay with the same airline but add the bonus of hour type contract etc?

It will probably fit under the A320 family which is already in there

Hey, you need xpuipc to connect the sim to APL2. Check out forums dot x-plane dot org There should be a version in there somewhere

I don't fly that aircraft specifically myself so not sure. However, I started with an airline that flies the a320 so I can't see why there wouldnt be that option

Yep they certainly do. There are two - Air Inuit and Carson Air.

Do different jobs vary in weight/cargo/pax? I wouldn’t want to always fly with default weight since weight changes the challenge

Yeah love the program but why would we upgrade? What's the big benefit? Convince me to upgrade and spent some more hard earned money! I don't see it yet.
