A Pentecostal Pastor Becomes a Catholic Priest

In this episode, Fr. Drake McCalister goes old school. Never researching for the sake of proving Catholicism, he stumbles upon the early Church fathers, and in the process creates a spreadsheet about their positions on water baptism.

“IF” you have not already, please consider going to Adoration of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament (also known as “Holy Hour”). Call your local parish and find out when they offer it. Then, just go and sit in silence in Christ’s Presence. Take your bible. Read scripture, pray, contemplate. Tell the Lord of your search for truth, of your doubts, worries, even fears. Then, be as patient with Him as He has been with you. When you receive the grace to know that HE IS THERE, you will be forever changed. Miracles occur in Christ’s presence - of that I can personally attest.

John 3:3 KJV Bible “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The papacy has always taught a false gospel. The popes, with their Jesuit armies, formed the Inquisition to persecute and kill Christians. They hide the abusers and shun the abused. Please read the scriptures for the truth. Don't believe or support any so-called 'church' that preaches lies. Jesus is not in a wafer or chalice. Jesus sits at the right hand of God. Jesus taught us to pray to the Father. Not to the dead. Please listen to: Ex-Catholics for Christ - on KZread. It's an important resource.

It's evident your gifts are needed and God wants you with us in His Church; the one He built on Peter, whose successor, Pope Francis, holds the Keys today. Fr. Drake McCalister is the first Pentecostal convert to explain so well something I had never heard before, that Pentecostals moved away from the errors of the reformers and restored teachings that are closer to the Catholic teaching. I am a cradle Catholic, my father had been raised mostly Pentecostal, then converted to Catholicism while in college after a stint in the Navy. His older sister was devastated by his conversion - so I always had the impression that my dad had left a church that was far removed from Catholicism, I now see that it was not such a great leap. Thank you for bringing us these stories Eddie.

The USA has sent us thousands of pastors or preachers who have taken out of the Church many many people. Of course we are to blame, we have probably made a lot of mistakes to allow that happen. I have enjoyed listening, but I don't understand the exclusivity of the Catholic church. In my work I meet Christians from many different church backgrounds and see very clearly there are true believer's in all section's. And I'm glad to here many speak of their experience as Christians outside the Catholic church as truly Christian. There have been grave errors in every part of the Church In Europe the Catholic church has a very dark history, tens of thousands were killed by the church, simply for disagreement. England became it's great enemy with a price on the queen's head! Luther, stood against the Anabaptist and saw them murdered. This is recorded history. But as far as I am aware, never acknowledged by the church. My son went to a catholic school and I became very aware that History was given a totally different slant. Yes it is great to read the church fathers. But we must remember from the very beginning there were decentres, John even called them Antichrist, so even reading them we must examine them in the light of scripture The church of Christ is not an organisation, it is made up of individual believers in all sorts of Christian churches of those that obey Christ and love Him. As the scripture says,Everything will pass away but love will remain. More than ever Christians must unite under Christ.

@stephendavis2925 Stephen, What you write is an accommodation to try to "feel" legitimate. The fact is, my friend, that our Lord is quite specific when He says in: Matthew 16:18 18. And I say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build "My Church", and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. Therefore, "My Church" means only One. If you don't understand, our Lord makes it clearer for you, in: John 17:21-23 21. So may they all be One. Just as you, Father, are in me, and I am in you, so also may they be One in us: so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22. And the glory that you have given to me, I have given to them, so that they may be One, just as we also are One. 23. I am in them, and you are in me. So may they be perfected as One. And may the world know that you have sent me and that you have loved them, just as you have also loved me. No doubt! Our Lord refers to just One Church. Therefore, all Protestant churches and sects are illegitimate.
