Facebook Marketplace can be addictive at times, and when the price is right, it's a gamble, but, lets roll the dice and see what happens. This time, we go after a Ford 8N.
Enjoy.

I love these old Fords. In 1947 my dad and mom bought a 9N Ford tractor with a plow, disk, and cultivator. About 1960, my dad traded in the 9N for a 1951 8N Ford. I still have that Ford plus all the equipment and it’s still being used today!

Great to hear. It's always nice when these machines are kept in the family and used.
You put together a very nice video and that tractor won’t take that much to tune her up what I kinda of always look at I ask myself is it complete and yours looks pretty complete you have a tractor that is worth fixing! I appreciate guys like you saving these tractors from the shredder! You probably know this already but Dennis Carpenter has everything you need and more for restoring that old girl! Keep on trucking gentleman 😀

Thank you for the kind remarks. We love finding things like this. We were lucky to get it running and I have a follow-up video on this tractor. Still a work in progress.
I don't think that was birds in the tool box 😂

Fingers crossed!
The rear wheels, one was original, the other probably an aftermarket or maybe off a Ferguson. A 2N or 9N wheel won't fit a 8N unless the whole rear end was changed out. More than likely, there is water in the transmission since the gear shift boot was toast and the dipstick's condition.

Thank you...yes, what transmission fluid was left has water in it and we will be draining that out ot replace with new.
Interesting set of plug wires. Is that a Chinese carb ?

It appears to be an aftermarket carb.
How wide is your car trailer? I’m going to buy an 8N but want to make sure it will fit on my tandem car trailer.
looking good! Any problems with your SOS at all? Thanks

Hello, "knock on wood" all is well with the SOS. I would like ot rebuild the carb one day as it seems ot get too much fuel and I need to meter it with the fuel shut off valve on the tank at start up, but other than that, its been great. THe SOS transmission had a tune-up back around 2000-ish to adjust the bands.

@@duginvirginia5737 Thanks! Thinking about getting one. Youve got a demonstrator with probably the original SOS just wondering if it holds up. Thanks much! Keep tractoring lol👍

@@davidshipulski4532 Thank you...Our SOS was purchased from the dealership, used, in 1972, for $1875.00 !! (Same dealership that had sold it to its first owner as new.) The dealership's name and transport tag is still on one of the power steering cylinders!
